Self-made Suppositories

I’ve made them from scratch using sodium carbonate/stearic acid/glycerin but now find that if I find a bunch of glycerin suppositories on sale, it’s easier to just melt them down and solidify in various fun-shaped molds. My favorite is a “dildo” (a novelty silicone ice cube mold). Nothing like lying on your bed with a glycerin penis in your ass — usually only partly inserted, of course.

@gboy The soap stick sounds far more uncomfortable than an enema. I wonder why your mother did not go straight to the enema and dispensed with the stick.

I dont use them much, but usually home made:

Glycerin: heated Glycerin, combined with some molten gelatine (or gelatine powder and a little water), leave in fridge to solidify, experiment a bit with the recipe to get the firmness you like.

Any other ingredient: pharma grade PEG-1000, its a well known suppository base in the pharmaceutical world, You can pretty much add anything to it (crushed bisacodyl tablets, piepper flakes etc etc) simply melt in a waterbath till it goes plastic, not liquid, so particals keep suspended in it.

Usually use the tips of nitril gloves as a mould, works surprisingly well, and no clean up etc afterwards 😃

Back in 2009 we hosted efest west and featured a suppository making class, so of course we had to try and test everything including recipes before the class.

Our findings:

Best mold: bullet shaped ice molds from Amazon

Best materials: solid coconut oil heated with herbs and essential oils

Best classic mix: food safe glycerin with secret mixture of other ingredients to come out like classic fleet suppo.

I could go on forever as we did quite a bit of testing but the above are my suggestions

Best classic mix: food safe glycerin with secret mixture of other ingredients to come out like classic fleet suppo.

@Naughtydoc can you share this list of secret ingredients?

Sure: burdock root extract, green tea extract, and chamomile extract. We used a drop of each extract per suppo. So if it’s a batch of 24 suppos, 24 drops of each from eyedropper in big batch- heat with glycerin- poor into molds. Make sure to warm and thoroughly mix the solution before pouring into the molds. Hope this helps

The only homemade suppositories I received were huge soap sticks soaked in hot water for at least 10 minutes

Hi, has glycerin changed over the years , as i found some and i filled a pen cap with it and held it in the freezer with a clothes peg , kept looking at it all weekend , ut nothing happened . im now 71 and this must have been 50 years ago ?

@Jacana. My mother mostly used suppositories on me when a dose of laxative given at bedtime didn't make me poop as soon as I woke up the next morning. She said it would help the laxative to work. Whether it was a glycerin or Dulcolax suppository or a homemade soap stick she only gave it about 20 minutes to do the job and if I still didn't produce a large bowel movement, then she would get out the enema bag as a last resort and give me a hot soapsuds enema to clean everything out of me. It took her a while to get the enema prepared, give it to me, make me hold it in for 5 minutes and then expel it and clean me up, so I guess she wanted to save the time and trouble. Most of the time the laxative worked. Occasionally it took the extra stimulation of the suppository or soap stick to do the trick. I had to be really badly constipated to require the enema.

For those who don't want to invest in bullet-shaped ice cube trays, I've seen video on YouTube of a woman who shapes the melted suppository contents by wrapping heavy-duty aluminum foil (or two layers of regular) around an object that's the right size, careful not to pierce the foil tube, and folding over one end. She liked stubby pencils, crayons, and similar items, but it would be easy to use something a little larger, like your own finger or the handle of a small screwdriver, if you preferred.

As a closeted enemaphile, I worry about this being found, but I happen to live in a place where nearly everybody has two refrigerators, because one is surely full of beer, cheese curds, and frozen pizza. (I'm not much of a beer drinker, which is alien to many, but cheese curds are pretty amazing.) I bet I could use the basement fridge, huh?

@gboy Wow that takes quite a while to do all that in the morning!

@Jacana. I usually woke up around 7 AM on a school day. If I didn't go right away from the laxative I got a suppository. If I still hadn't gone in 20 minutes my Mom gave me a hot soapsuds enema, made me hold it in for 5 minutes, and by 8 AM it was all over with and I was sent off to school.
