Noisy diapers/panties

I wear terry nappies with plastic pants and the noisier they are the better I like it

Today I am wearing a nice thick Alvita All in one night time nappy and some Viva Medi plastic pants. There is no mistaking I am wearing a nappy under my jeans today.

This morning I am wearing Abena Abr-Form with the plastic covering. They are noisy if I'm wearing something light over them. I love walking around the house in them and all of the crinkly noises. They don't seem to be that noisy once I have my jeans on but maybe I'm just used to the noise and can't tell.

I wear attends with waistband and I feel like they are a bit noisy. Surprisingly, I actually like the noise.

I have also worn the attends, and I love the noise they make

The noisiest disposable diaper by far are the plastic back attends and the noisiest plastic pants are the PEVA that which I bought both of them together and I don't notice a difference

I don't like noisy nappies as I prefer to keep my nappy wearing private, I wear PUL pants over my disposable nappy and then even a plastic backed nappy is seriously "hushed".

When at home I wear a cloth lined PUL pant that is so like an old pair of Rubber pants and these are very noisy and I have to take care not to get too near to people as they WILL hear the noise, I am very deaf and I can hear them !

I love my nappies to be noisey - plastic-back disposables are great but it's even better when you add in a pair of plastic pants. I've got an old pair of Gabby's pull-on plastic pants that make lots of noise.

I've found that Bambino disposables are excellent noise makers. The old Abri-Forms, Depends and Tena Maxis all produced enough crinkling sounds to announce their presence. It's such a pity that the trend of replacing plastic-backed disposables for cloth-backed ones has removed the stimulation to one of our senses.

Since the last time I posted in this thread I've upgraded to ABU Simple. Those are noisy and crinkly but it's worth it for the performance.

I find that AB/DL-focused diapers tend to be noisier. Cloth-backed medical-grade diapers are fairly silent.

My current reserve is about ~70 AB/DL-focused diapers - I'm incontinent, but decided to treat myself for Christmas. They're all quite loud, compared to my usual Abena M3s.

I also use lined plastic pants. As a general rule, they are somewhat noisier than non-lined plastic pants, because the outside, waterproof plastic layer is slack in lined plastic pants, rather than layering over the diaper; it's the inner liner that does that.

Some of the cheaper vintage diapers win this category, like Attends, older Depends, and old store brand diapers.

But for the 100% best combo of quality and crinkly, ConfiDry 24/7 takes the gold.

I just found an unopened package of older Depends. It was a white bag that would have been part of a bigger bulk package. It was in the thrift store for $4 US. I scooped them up and compared them to newer ones I already had at the house. At first glance they look the same. The newer ones have narrower tapes that are more like an office type tape, the plastic is quiet, the elastic is green and there is less of it. In the newer ones, moisture spreads quickly through the whole diaper. The older ones have much thicker elastic which is stronger and there’s more elastic there. The tapes are a little thicker. The plastic is way louder. They are very crinkly. The older ones swell up way more and the wetness does not spread out as much. The insides fell apart quickly after wetting. The thickness and wetness indicator strip are the same. They look like the same diaper at first glance. There was no date on the older package. The lot # ended with -06 so maybe they’re from 2006? The newer pack is from after the switch back from the cloth like exterior and say “protection with tabs.” I’m hoping to find the really older ones. I’ve found unopened vintage packs of wings and Covidien diapers in the past. There was nothing special about them. There was a pack of Attends 10 and two packs of First Quality diapers on Boston Craigslist a few months back. That would be a 12 hour round trip for me so I’d be just as well off paying Ebay prices.
