Looking to buy a speculum

I am looking to buy a speculum.. for those that have them and love to enjoy them .. what would be my best and enjoyable buy??

Why limit yourself to one? Get a medium metal Graves, a medium plastic Graves, and a medium metal Collins to start.

Most popular is 'Graves' type speculum on Amazon under $20 with shipping. So you can afford to buy Large and medium ones. I got several from a retired doctor. For rectal fun I started with small, but easily went up to medium and large. I did not get much stimulation so I don't do rectal play. Small is probably for girls. The 'Collins' speculum spread horizontally with a small tab, rather than with 2 large levers. I think spreading the speculum would be more difficult. There being no significant difference in price, I advise going with a Graves. All the disposables are graves style.

I have a small size graves and a medium size collins, both metal. For self insertion, the collins is much easier to use and get open, but the graves will give you the more classical gynecology experience. Definitely go with metal!

Hi, I have a few that I've acquired over the years from different places. Last was a seller on Amazon, about $20 is what I remember paying. I have a small and medium Pederson and also a medium and large Graves. For self play and insertion, I like the medium size. And yes definitely go with metal!

There are loads of places you can buy them. Ebay and Amazon for sure. And our local dirty book store had a couple. In fact I got my glow in the dark plastic one there. I am generally not a fan of plastic, but how could the inner 4 year old in me resist that?

There are also many different kinds of them. A lot depends on what you want to do. If you have lived in the US and are trying to simulate a typical exam than a Graves or a Pederson should do you well. I think the Collins are more popular in Europe and in med fet porn. If you have a play partner the single bladed Sims are fun.

If you shop on Ebay oftentimes you can find one seller that has a full line and negotiate a fixed shipping fee. I got a very large assortment of stuff a while back for a very reasonable price.

I would get one of each: 1 metal and 1 plastic. I myself prefer the way the metal feels inside of me. It is more realistic and I think it is more degrading....if that is what you're going for. However, the plastic can be especially appealing if it is inserted with the handle in the up position.

I used plastic for a long time, mostly because they were disposable, which was one less thing for patients, especially new ones, to be concerned about. With one or two steady patients, we have agreed that I would use a metal speculum for each patient, which is reserved for only for that patient's use. I really prefer the metal ones, because it is more realistic, but I still use the plastic on new patients.

That is such a good idea to have a metal speculum for each patient, which is reserved for only that patient's use. I agree with that way of thought. It is safer and cleaner that way in my opinion.

Another thread give me the idea, and I suspect you need to have them shipped to the store, but Walmart has plastic speculums. You can buy one for $9 or a pack of 10 for $25.

In my experience, each style has its pros and cons. I like the clear plastic speculums for erotic photography, as they allow to see through. The metal ones can be cooled down in the fridge or warmed up with warm water, for temperature play. The metal speculums mentioned so far will work, but the best ones I have seen so far are the Miller-type. They have 2 screws instead of one, which allows for parallel opening of the blades. This reduces the risk of pinching. I have just ordered yesterday a speculum with 7 inch blades, which is the largest I have seen so far. Medium collins metal

I do like a medium metal Collins, but they tend to open your patient wide (you can only adjust one dimension, as opposed to 2 with the Graves). The Guttman is an interesting new speculum that has a full blade on the bottom and two prongs on the top. It doesn't pinch as much, and it offerers an obstructed view of the anterior wall of the vagina, although they are more difficult to find.

I'm thinking of getting a medium metal graves to push up my vagina. A small/virgin is used in my real exams as I have no sexual history only fingering.

I'm choosing a medium as I want it to hurt a bit and make me feel sore afterwards though I do get that a bit anyway from the small (i'll post that story elsewhere!). Will I be able to open a graves on my own?

Just go on eBay and put in speculum. You will have more choices than you can ever use from plastic to metal and every kind as well. I use them for buying old, hard to find car stuff and it works just as good for kinky too. Plenty of enema bags and bulbs too.

One thing to watch for on ebay with specula is if it is very inexpensive the fit and finish may not be all that great and the sizing tends to be small. That being said you can get a M and a L and if the M is not filling enough you can move to the L. I have some smalls that could make keychain fobs.

I bought a Mathieu 3-pronged anal speculum from ebay a while ago. I was skeptical about the purchase because the price was quite low (you get what you pay for), but hey! - what a pleasant surprise when it arrived. Surgical stainless steel, superbly crafted, a really classy piece of equipment, probably good for a lifetime of use (and abuse!).

Be sure you use enough lube with them, it is very important. 😃

Annie204 as others have mention not all speculums both metallic or plastic are finished to the same standards . As a rule the cheaper they are the more likely they are to have imperfections which can results in cuts , or scratches. Be sure you carefully examine your purchases to ensure a smooth finish free from rough imperfections .

As Amethyst suggest , ensure you use adequate lubrication and slowly open when the vagina. Don't try to stretch the vagina to fast , allow the muscle to relax and accommodate the opening speculum blades.

You may not be able to fully open and lock a medium speculum , it does take time but you should be able to eventually do this over time . As exciting as this may seen , you don't want to cause actual injury to yourself and end up in hospital. An common mistake by novice users is to close the speculum fully before extraction , Never do this as it will result in pinching , which is very painful, always leave the blades open somewhat before removing the speculum .

You should be able to insert the speculum and open it by yourself , I would suggest a mirror to help you on the insertion , open and closing. Also have a towel handy or remove gloves if in use as it can be difficult opening or closing the blades with lube encrusted fingers or gloves .

I've just released the speculum and pulled it out and never had a problem. You just don't want to close it, let it release naturally then just pull it out. I've never had a pinching problem except once with an anal speculum. Those you want to leave slightly open when you remove them. Just go slow and it will be fine.

My plastic speculum has arrived 😃

While playing with it I had the idea of putting it in my lips near the clit and opening it. It spread my labia apart feeling just like the nurse at the clinic was opening them - very nice feeling. I kept squeezing and releasing the handles to feel my lips open and close.

Then time for my insertion! I parted my inner lips to make sure they didn't get pushed into my vagina turned the speculum 90 degrees and started to push it in - it was a little sore but I liked it. I twisted it back at around 2 inches which was a very nice feeling as my tight vagina held the speculum and had to stretch when it was turned. I opened it a little but it hurt too much when it stretched me. It'll get easier I hope.
