What kind of diapers to use?

Cloth or disposable, which do you prefer folks?

I grew up with cloth diapers and plastic pants. Both as a baby and as a child for bed wetting. So I wear cloth diapers most of the time. I have grown a fondness for Attends disposables also. So at night for bed time I usually put on an Attends and 1 or more cloth diapers with 2 or more pairs of plastic pants over them.

...do they sell them in stores or do they just sell them on line...I like to wear 2 CVS or Depends fitted briefs

I've heard people say they've found stores with cloth diapers, but I'm sure they are few and far between. You might ask at medical supply companies.

You can get them often on ebay as well as various sites. I made several sets of rectangular cloth diapers using diaper flannel from Walmart. Using the width of the fabric, I made a triple fold of the material about a yard long (there are directions on line for proper measurements for your size). I then just did a straight stitch with a sewing machine along each edge and one end, folded it inside out, tucked in the remaining side a little and stitched across that. They've held up pretty well!

As for my preferences, I wear Attends often to work or out other times, usually with plastic pants over for a margin of protection. I LOVE to wear nice thick cloth diapers at home!

I like disposables myself, to me they are a true diaper. Gotta love that noise and the feel.

Definitely disposables. No fuss no muss! And it's nice how they bulk up as they get wet especially if you double (or triple) them up.

I use cloth diapers (birdseye) and plastic panties. The same as I wore as a 10 yo.Also wore cloth and plastic STAYDRY Panties for those of you that go back aways.

I wear EITHER type depending on what I am doing, where I am going and also on how I feel at the time.

During the day I tend to wear a thick disposable nappy round the house, but if I go out I change into a thinner disposable so its more discrete. Tena are my favourite for longer trips out, they don't rustle much, they aren't too bulky, they hold lots of liquid and don't leak easily.

In the evening I change in to a cloth nappy (terry towelling) with plastic pants over the top. If I am having an evening of lots of alchohol I tend to wear a disposable under the cloth nappy to help prevent leaks and also for less frequent changes.

At bedtime I will change into a fresh nappy and it really dpends on my mood - sometimes it's a disposable, other times it's a cloth one.

These are all generalisations though, sometimes I do wear a thin cloth nappy and plastic pants when I go out.

And of course there are the odd occassions when I don't wear any type of nappy !!

I love disposable diaper more then cloth. Hmm i had a few brands that i love😜ampers, goodnites and this brand is from Japan mamy poko. For me im wearing a baby diapers i dont really try on adult diaper before 😜

😉I use cloth only. Very thick-- 4 single layer 36x36in adult diapers, 8 baby diapers as soaker pads (3 are toddler size diapers). It takes about 3 minutes to fold my diapers.

I love cloth diapers too. I get excited when its time to put on my layers of diapers at night. I wear 2 or more cloth diapers and 2 or more pairs of plastic pants to bed at night.

Being a lifelong bedwetter, I have always been diapered at night. When I was living at home with my family, my mother always diapered my brothers and I in cloth diapers and plastic pants at bedtime. Cloth diapers are the best for nighttime because you can make them as thick and absorbant as you want. Although I wear disposable diapers mostly in the day, my cloth diapers always feel MUCH better.

I love cloth diapers, I can still wear baby diapers 27 X 27 birdseye diapers. You can layer them as thick as you want, and are very easy to wash and dry.

Why not both (cloth and disposible) at the same time. You can put on a disposible, than put cloth diapers over top making sure the edges of the cloth extend over the disposible. You than put on your rubber pants as usual.

You can than wet the disposible past the point you normally would. The cloth diaper would catch the excess and make cleanup easier if you mess. I talked to one guy on line once who used this combo on his gf and it worked fantastic.

I guess for me it has to be the terry cloth nappy as its what i started with. Even when disposables came on the market i never really liked them,to me something was always missing. Iknow at the time it took a few of the mums and dads around where i lived some time to switch to all disposables.

I wear diaposibles during the day and cloth at night. Cloth holds the pee that runs down the sides better when lying down. Always wear plastic panties with either.

I love the size on bulk of Cloth but they are a lot of work

SO i use disposable mainly

and when i am going out to parties i have pad, and Disposables and 1 or 2 Cloth nappies over the top to make bulk out

I would say there is no right answer either way. For the most part it's what you're more comfortable with, most cloth loving diaper wearers who would swear by cloth, where brought up in cloth diapers. The same would be said for people who wore nothing but disposables as babies and kids. But there are times a cloth diaper can be better, and there are times when a disposable would be better. And by better, I also mean comfortable too. Both sides can come up with many reasons why each is more comfortable. I would say this, They Both have a time and a place where they would be best suited to wear for comfort, and it's great we have both from which to choose. If you want to know for your own self, get both and try them out in different situations, I'm sure you would agree they both have there moments. I hope this helps.

I used to prefer strictly disposables but after trying cloth I have found that disposables are more convenient when out and about but at night nothing beats the comfort and softness of a thick cloth diaper and plastic pants

Daytime disposables, and night time cloth, I just need to get more cloth so right now its disposables all the time, Abena X-Plus

I use both, cloth for when I'm at home and disposables when out and about. This is what my mom did with me when I was little and it works just fine today. I preffer cloth as they are far more ecco-friendly than disposables.

Disposable for me but I would like to try cloth. 😁

For me no doubt about it, I like nice thick cloth diapers best, 😁 my second choice is a plastic backed tape on disposable. 😉 The new pull on style cloth covered disposables aren't even what I'd call a diaper, their an incontinent brief. ??? I like my diapers to be babyish, don't you too? 😉

All of these sites I've ordered from at one time or another, except Drylife which is a UK site for terry nappies (diapers UK stile) Some of these sites are not ab/dl aware, so act accordingly please. I'm sure they know of ab/dl's but they don't liked to be looked upon as such. There's no real order to my list, but the first two are top notch, and geared more to incontinence, not one of your ab/dl fun sites, but as I said I'm sure they know about us and don't mind the sales. Cloth diapers rule. You can feel the wetness soak up into the cloth and creep to the waist band area. And, you need plastic pants, which also are wonderful. Disposables do not absorb flooding and leak far too easily, especially before they're all used up. And, having someone else pin your diapers on you is very intimate and quite erotic!

Like cloth with plastic pants the best. Disposables and plastic pants will work. But GOTTA have plastic pants.

Haven't been able to find cloth that fits in a long time. Have looked for contour cloth and p.p.. But so far only able to find on line and really don't want that charge to show on credit card. (guess I am a bit scared of people knowing still.)

Hands down cloth in every case except for maybe road trips for the sheer convenience. cloth is kinder to the skin more comfortable and anything the gives me the excuse to wear plastic pants heheh I dont need an excuse of course!!!

DEFINITELY disposable. It's more comfy (for me, at least), I love the sound, sight, and feel of them, and it's easier to dispose of the evidence!

I love the thickness of cloth diapers but I also like the practical side of disposable diapers.
