I am also using an Arizona Tea gallon jug. I have found that an extra plastic hose clamp, in the open state, works well at keeping the end of the suction tube next to the bottom. I let it slip just inside the bottle neck as a fine keeper. Also I have put a black hose splice fitting on the end, so I can easily notice the location of the tip inside the jug.
In the absence of a proper Higginson pump, I have looped the tubing in my hand, so that when I squeeze it rapidly it will draw up and over the top of a full jug. Then gravity takes over and I dangle it till it all fills nicely and shut it off. If the jug is set near the same level as nozzle inside the butt, then further squeezes will continue pumping it in. Problem is, as pressure builds inside then a back flow wants to happen. Which may be desirable as it is anyway. I like a little bit of air in the hose, so that there is a slurping noise when it is pumped. With a little care this air will stay in the coil of hose. When I use a pot, I like to use two big serving forks to hold the hose next to the bottom, by sliding an inch of hose between the tines.
This next tip works well as a flow indicator:
With the hose well primed, let a little air into the line. Then draping the hose up over your knee, while on your back, the air will stay up there and you can see the water spill through the air filled section.
I also like what another person does with a Wye connector to arrange a stand pipe next to the can or pot, so as to know what is left of your enema goodness.
The bags at Wal-mart are made in China and stink severely of raw rubber. I Washed mine with boiling water a few times and made it better, but it will never stop giving off fumes. I think my wife is more comfortable with my siphon arrangement as well.
I like aloe-vera juice with soda and Epsom salt, or just Epsom salt and castor bean oil, with a drop or so of peppermint in it, on the nozzle.
I take enemas for depression and anger and often go for a walk with a little slosh inside as well. Hopefully I don't get stopped by the neighbor lady and feel the need to explain my need to move on.
