Al fresco play

At last something approaching summer has arrived on the east coast of Canada. This tempted us (my girlfriend, husband and I) to some al fresco discipline the other day. We used a local park-- a nice stretch of woodland running along the river bank with a meandering path and three picnic areas, one on a little headland overlooking the river. The open air sensation is lovely, and the ever-present risk of discovery adds a lot of excitement. Implements are limited to those which may be conveniently carried in a backpack or handbag. At this time of year insects are not a problem. However prolonged exposure to unfamiliar sunlight of usually well-covered parts of the body should be avoided. And being whipped with a freshly-cut handful of willow twigs is taking the natural approach a bit too far, for this gal at least. As a final comment, some gender inequality comes into play here; a skirt can be flipped down in a fraction of a second but pulling up trousers takes much longer. It may be that some gentlemen may decide to adopt the kilt... Has anyone any alfresco play experiences to share?

Nettles are also useful (I don't know how strong they are in Canada though).

Can also be used in exercises where the body has to be held over nettles, to provide encouragement (e.g. plank position)
