Small Enemas

Although my mom preferred to give a full bag of enema there were those times when she would ask me if I thought a small one, which she called a "little shot" might be in order. What she meant was a single bulbfull to sort of get things moving again. At that age I knew that I would be getting an enema no matter what and the idea of the small one had appeal. Eventually, the little shot wound up being given from the bag and it got to be larger. At about age 12 or so and enema was an enema no matter what it was called and it entailed enduring a full bag of soapy water.

I had mixed emotions after my graduation to the family bag "because I was getting to be a big boy." I was not only getting really comfortable with mom's bulb enemas, but was beginning to understand what she meant when she would tell me how good I would feel after this enema as she sprayed that bulb up into me. Those first few enemas with the bag were scary and uncomfortable due to the larger volume, and I really missed the bulb. I thought mom would never use it on me again. But she didn't disappoint. On at least a couple occasions I recall, after giving my younger brother a bulb enema she would ask me if I wanted a "little" enema. Of course I initially said no, but it wouldn't take much coaxing for me to agree. Those "little" enemas turned into her "good enema" sessions quickly, with several bulbfuls given until she was satisfied with the results.

Growing up there was no such thing as a "little enema". Even when using the bulb, my mother filled the enamel potty with hot soapy water and made sure she emptied it all into my bottom. Then the potty was placed on the floor and I filled it back up. When I was graduated to the bag at about 7, it was the full bag. No halfway measures for my mother.

My Mom used a bag! It seemed huge at the time. She would make me take enough of the enema for her to be convinced it would be effective. I would tell her I was full and she'd say "just take a little more"! She always ended by giving the bag a healthy squeeze!

Never received a "small enema" that I can recall as a child. All were given to me from the same large red family bag that the folks used, but I was never asked or forced to take the whole bag in one shot. My mother would continue (start & stop) the enema until she felt I had probably taken enough, and then she would have me expel it, before I received a second or third enema.

I always got the 2 qt red bag mommy enema until my tummy stuck way out. Hard to take it sometimes but the mommy erotica got me through them.

Generally, if you have had enemas before, it is going to take about two quarts to sufficiently fill the colon. Anything smaller, you are only clearing the last few inches.

LOL! My mother would often tell me that she was only going to give me a little enema, but it never turned out that way or so it seemed. I think back to the enemas that I got growing up thinking that they were huge, when I now suspect that they were seldom more than a single quart. But being made to hold a single quart of warm soapy water churning through your insides always did produce results and I never recalled getting an enema from the bag that didn't work.

As I recall my mother's enema administration, there was NEVER a small bag. She ALWAYS filled her red bag to the brim with warm Ivory soapy water and administered them OTK.

My mother always used the enema bag, but she also used a one quart pan of warm water that had the soap bar swished into it to make it soapy. Sure doesn't seem like it was 60 years ago!

There are times when I will take as little as a pint if I do not think I need that much. It will make me go, but will not amount in a major cleaning out that a whole bag will.

Sometimes a quick bulb enema is all I have time to do, but it is sure better than no enema at all.

From the time I was 7 or 8 mom and step dad used the four ounce bulb.. It only took one or two bulb's full to get my bowels moving. I was constipated a lot growing up. As I got older they changed the bulb from four to 8 ounces. From the age of 10 I would get two or three of the eight ounce bulbs full of Ivory soapy water.. At age 13 I received my first one quart bag. Most of my tummy problems were minor and all I needed was a little start. Which was ok with them because they loved multiple entries into my rectum with the eight ounce blub. It all got to be very embarrassing when I was an older teenager 16,17,and 18.. And if I protested I got spanked first then the enema was given.

No bulb enemas here. It was always from the bag (folding travel one like in profile pic -always looks so big if it is only 2qt). Don't really know how much I got, but it was a little scary being completely naked OTK looking at that bulging bag hanging from the shower curtain rod delivering its water into me.

I alway have gotten the large volume 1500 ml +!

Sis & I never got small enemas. Even from enfancy, we got as much as a childthat age could take. We received enemas on a twice-weekly schedule every Wednesday night and Saturday morning, and other days as "needed", i.e. when Gram wanted to give us one or more. Sis had very hard, messy periods, and frequently kept home from school so Gram could ease her cramps with hot poapy enemas. We were both kept home for enemas if we were sick. I remember one whole week when we both had bad colds, and Sis also started her period. She begged Gram for hot soapy enemas, which were normally 4 qts. She was (is) 5'6", 105 #, and her distention was amazing. She would hold her belly and smile, so the hot soapy water did the trick. We were normally done together, naked, so we always saw everything. One evening during that week at home, I was plugged with 3 hot soapy qts churning in me, when Gram pumped 4 into Sis, then plugged her. Small enemas have their place in my book. So do larger ones.

But sometimes a small enema is just what is needed to relieve some built-up tension.

Whenever I was home sick from school, my mother would wait until everyone else was gone, then come to my bedside and announce that she was going to give me an enema. By her tone, I could tell that it would be useless to protest. If I felt especially ill, she would ask if I wanted it in my bed or in the bathroom. In bed, I was put in the "sims" position. She would lubricate the nozzle of a small red bulb (holding about a cup of water) with "Pond's Cold Cream" and inject me with about three bulbs full of Ivory soap water. Once she asked if I felt too full and I told the truth: "Not particularly." She then gave me one more. Looking back, I regret that she never graduated me to a bag or larger douche bulb. During puberty, I would take her douche bulb into the tub with me when I bathed and indulge in enema play. I think she caught on and figured I was taking care of my own needs, because she quit offering to give me enemas after that.

No bulb enemas for me growing up, or in my teen years and early adult life.

My first encounter with a bulb was almost six years ago while traveling. Got really constipated on the road and needed relief. Bought a bulb at a drug store and it helped. But I thought it was awkward to use. Now the two quart bag is like the Am Ex card, never leave home without it.

Like many here my childhood included bulb enemas from infancy through about age 7 or 8, when I graduated to the family bag. Mom believed everyone needed to be cleaned out regularly as a preventative measure, at the onset of any illness, at the end of any illness, and at the first sign of constipation, which (to her) meant one day without a bowel movement. Laying over the toilet or the side of the tub for a few bulbfuls of warm soapy water was fairly routine. I reach a point where I didn't mind getting those little enemas at all and, in fact, enjoyed having the alone time with mom and that relaxed, cleaned-out feeling after a good enema session. After graduating to the big-boy enemas with the family bag, mom would still use the bulb on occasion for "little" enemas. Those little enemas were usually given after my little brother got an enema and the bulb was out and convenient, or a before-school enema that needed to be quick, without the fuss of a lengthy bag session (I could expect a bag session after school when I got the bulb in the morning). Little bulb enemas were a big part of my youth and played a central part in forming my adult enema activities.

I like small enemas. I would rather have several small ones than one big one. This probably started when I was a little girl. Mom used a red bulb syringe on me and rarely gave more than a couple of bulbs full. When I started giving myself enemas later it took me lots of practice to be able to take a full two quart bag.

Even today, I use a bulb to give myself a couple to start off so I do not have to push for a bm. I learned years ago pushing only leads to hemmies. Of course, when I feel the need to get cleaned out, or whatever, I use the bag. But I still like the bulb or just a quart in the bag at times.

My mother had an enema bulb, but I never remember either of my sisters or me getting enemas from it. In our house it was always that bag and when filled was always intimidating. I remember that our enema bag had two rectal pipes with it, an adult and a smaller one for children. While we were never expected to take the whole bag we were always encourage to take as much as we could. I must have been 12 or 13 before I took the whole bag.

I take an 8 oz. bulb if I don't have time for the bag; also before any Dr. appt. (accept dentist), where I don't want my semi-colon, or no internal sphincters to suddenly have to go right now. Of course, before any procedure requiring general anesthetic, I take a full bag so I don't have anything "slip out" on the O.R. table. I will not subject any medical personnel to that, or humiliate myself to that happening. If I find myself going s few times a day, I'll take a bulb a couple times a day to slow things down.

My Mother's small enemas where a quart. I usually got 2 quarts. I prefered her small to her large ones but the small one where extras like if I didn't have an appatite or I had a fever or something then she would give me a small one, when I a child I dreaded the small ones.

One thing I sometimes do, on a system cleanout: I will take a Fleet Bisacodyl mini enema about 10 minutes before the Epsom salt and Soapsuds enema.

When I do that, I cut the oral bisacodyl back from 6 tablets down to 4.

It DOES add some "kick" to the ESS enema.

I remember getting bulb enemas when I was really little, but for a still little kid, the enema bag, partially filled, appeared to me to be an awful lot to take. After the nozzle was inserted, and some water administered, she might clip the hose for a minute if I complained of fullness, but I always remembered the bag being empty, my belly swollen with enema water, and an explosion when I voided. "Small" was a matter of opinion!
