Cramps when taking large volume enemas

I just wondered how many enema lovers experience cramps when they take large volume enemas (over 3 quarts). I have never found cramps a problem, even witth large volumes. Even when I take 6 quarts, I just feel incredibly full and stretched, but do not suffer cramps - is this unusual?

Large enemas usually produce cramps, that is part of the experience. For me, I think the cramping is the prelude to enemas resulting in hands free orgasms. Happens when I get between 3.5 and 4 quarts in. Going beyond 4 is just too much pressure to hold it any longer.

Cramps are a part of the enemas you need to get yourself cleaned out so you can take a really large enema. They go like hand in glove with cleanout enemas.

What you experience during a large enema is more of a heavy pain like the bowel is being stretched too much(because it IS) but not so much a cramp. Nausea is also part of a very large(4+qt) enema, do be prepared in case that happens, but by then the cramping is pretty much done.

I usually get one cramp before my bowels relax enough to have the rest in.

I hate cramps no matter what the source. For an enema I will never take more than 2 quarts. Truth be known, and I'll get a lot of others saying it is not true, but you can get a perfectly good cleaning out from a single quart of warm, soapy water. Just be sure to take is nice and slow, don't make it too warm, and be certain to hold it for as long as you can. Trust me.

Emom, you are so right. I too have difficulty taking anymore than two quarts and sometimes less than that. In any event when the enema is taken right excellent results are produced even with less volume. I, and my mother, have always prepared two quarts for every enema and I take as much as I can. Sometimes the whole two quarts and sometimes less.

With 2 quarts I never have cramps but at 4 quarts I do some cramping and I have a very hard time holding the enema for very long.

I guess I am a wimp. I don't like pain and cramps would be in that camp. Fortunately my wife does not give painful enemas, but they sure do work plus she likes it because they also get me horny.

I agree that a slow enema need not be large to be effective. Several pints retained a while will result in a most satisfactory clean out.

I have also found, over the years, that a large volume enema doesn't not cramp as much, and will even mitigate cramps. When doing a two-stage enema series, that is first taking three pints and retaining it then adding two more quarts at the end of the retention time, the addition of the extra solution will soothe the cramps that the initial enema caused. When cramping became insistent, that was when the second volume was added. Most times the cramping eased immediately. Of course there was the sensations of fullness due to the colon flooding.

Lately I have reduced the volume of my enemas. Sunday I do a recreational retention enema with massage. That one is one and a half quarts of baking soda solution retained for fifteen to twenty minutes. Wednesday a slow two and a half quarts via a Foley tube. Friday a three quart SSE via a colon tube.

Like Richard, I don't seem to get any sort of cramping or spasms in my bowels while I'm taking it. Really the only challenge is tolerating the growing pressure inside. Of course, once I'm done, the cramping kicks in and I have to expel pretty rapidly.

When I was much younger I would get some terrible cramping (sometimes asking myself why i took so much enema), but as I got older I have not experienced much cramping...Now I get a lovely sense of urgency that it think all of us enema enthusiasts crave. It's a sweet sensation when you are filling or filled and it sometimes builds slowly, or just slams you... ah yes, just one of the many wonderful aspects of enjoying the enema experience 😃
