RT in the morning

Many times I take my RT while doing my morning bathroom stuff shaving , brushing teeth etc. then read the thermometer when I'm done usually take 5 to 10 minutes to shave an do my teeth so the glass thermometer has plenty of time to register, I just slip it into my rectum while I'm in the bathroom and hold it in me till I'm done. my rectal temp in the morning is usually right around 98.4 to 98.8 so if its any higher I know I'm getting sick and by afternoon it will show a fever if I take it again.

Does anyone else do this?

I do exactly the same, not everyday but fairly often, when I do not fell well or just for fun.;

Besides, I have been lucky enough to eventually find a girlfriend who shares my interest for rectal temperature.So sometimes if she feels horny, she will come in the bathroom when I shave, and,, surprise, surprise, part my buttocks and slide a thermometer in my rectum. If she is in the mood for it, she will grab my penis or balls from behind and take care of them. In this case, we usually end up back in bed and have sex. i will then keep the thermometer in my ass and my gf will play with it as I make love to her.

After sex, The readings of the thermometer have allways proven to be so to say dissapointing, sex does not make your temperature rise very much. If you want to rise your temp, go jogging....

When we indulge in this kind of play, we of course use plastic digital thermometers, to avoid accidents, even though we prefer the good old glass ones. LOL; .

Never had a girl friend do that for me for some reason all ladies I know don't like rt and don't go into the bathroom while I'm shaving. I did have college roommate that was into rt's and we did rt play in the mornings sometimes, but usually in the bedroom not the bathroom btw this was a male roommate there was no sex just rt play. Usually he would slip a thermometer into me or I would slip a thermometer into him then the other would use the bathroom then come out and read the thermometer of the one on the bed. We also gave each other enemas once in a while when needed. Always with rt first and sometimes after as well. Eric was very much into the ladies but also like to do rt play with another male.

Nice. I've always had the fantasy of lying down on the bed. A Rectal thermometer is pushed in. It has to stay in there until he gets out of the shower and comes to take it out.

When I take it in the morning, it's always 98.6 degrees, unless I'm fighting a bug. Later in the afternoon, it can climb to around 100 degrees, especially during hot weather. I had a g.f. who's rectal and oral temp. was always 98.6 degrees, no matter what. I just loved the view of her butt with the thermometer sticking out of it.

Sometimes I take my RT in the morning. Mostly for fun, but also as a reference point. If I feel bad, but not sure if I'm ill, I do the RT. Yes, RT is fun, but it's definitely a good tool too. Facts come from the tiny hole...

Never thought of taking a RT while getting ready in the morning. Sounds like a great idea. Great for Kenw who had assistance from his college roommate!

I take my temperature first thing every morning. I'll open the nightstand drawer and take out the case with the thermometers and choose one. If I'm in a hurry, I'll use the IVAC electronic thermometer, but it's not as much fun. Otherwise, I choose one of the glass thermometers. Let's see...shall I use the Medi-Aid with the red triangular top, or the veterinary thermometer with the loop at the top--bigger and longer than the Medi-Aid, or maybe the Geratherm rectal with it's long tip and wide body, or maybe even the old B-D basal thermometer from years ago when we were trying to have children. Anyway, I pick one, take it out of its case and shake it down. Then I dip it in the Vaseline jar on the nightstand. I roll over and slide my shorts down to my knees, then slowly slide the thermometer into my rectum. I feel the cool slipperiness gradually warming up. I leave it in place for five minutes, clenching my anus around it to enjoy the feeling. When time is up, I take the thermometer out, wipe it off, and read it. If my temperature is above 94 degrees, I know I am still alive and it is OK to get up and start my day.

I love the smell of Vaseline in the morning. Smells like ..victory!

My rectal temp in the morning is usually right around 97.4 to 98.8.

Yes that's right, I slip it in to my rectum while standing and keep it there till I'm done shaving and doing my teeth. I think it's dangerous to hold a thermometer in your rectum while showering so it comes out before I shower.

I'd recommend caution in going about your morning routine with a RT inserted.....especially a glass one. That could have tragic results.

Have any women, (I'm asking females specifically), used a rectal thermometer to record "basal body temperatures" for determining their fertile time of the month?

My temp in the morning is normally around 37.2 °C.

My earliest memories of getting my temperature taken rectally were when I was in the hospital in my early teens, After taking my temperature another nurse would come into my room holding a hypodermic Needle. I would always try to resist but one nurse held me still while the other gave me the injection in my butt. It really hurt and I'd always tear up.

One of the things my wife noted when she took my rectal temperature the week before Christmas, was how my fever fluctuated from low in the morning, to burning up at about 7PM. I swear I probably had the flu that week. She popped the thermometer in my butt about every 2 hours for 5 days. I averaged 100.2F - 100.6F between 4AM and 6PM....then my fever spiked after 7PM like clockwork to an average of 102.4F. I felt worse than hell until it finally broke for good.

Stephen S, My wife and I did the basal temperature thing a number of years ago. If you go to You Tube, there are a number of videos about charting your basal temperature. They mention that you can take the temp either orally or vaginally. When we bought our thermometer, the literature that came with it said it could be done orally, vaginally, or rectally. Apparently even the thermometer makers are going politically correct now, and ignoring the rectal route. Since the temperature has to be taken immediately on waking up, before you move around, I got to do the honors. We would leave the thermometer, shaken down, on the nightstand with the Vaseline. As soon as the alarm went off, I would pick the thermometer up, dip it in the Vaseline, lower my wife's panties, part her cheeks with my thumb and forefinger, and slip the thermometer into her rectum, leaving it in place for five minutes. Then I woud withdraw it, read it, and we would record the temperature. I'd clean off the thermometer, shake it down, and place it back on the nightstand. Nowadays that would probably lead to hot monkey sex, but at the time, in order to increase our chances of success, we had to refrain until her temperature spiked. So we would just get up and get ready for work. By the way, the basal temperature tracking didn't work for us, but with the help of a clinic in California we were eventually able to have children.

Back in the 70s a woman friend & co-worker casually mentioned using a rectal thermometer on herself. When I asked her to elaborate she told me about BBTs & fertility charting. "No doctor is going to tell you to use oral temps," she explained. It really struck me how open she was about it.

Later, I mentioned it to a girl I was dating. She was from Guatemala. She told me she did the same thing--rectal temps for BBT (turned out she was married & trying to have a baby with her husband, I believe she was seeing me because she hadn't been able to conceive & perhaps thought she'd have better luck with me). She also admitted she wasn't very consistent about it--doing it some mornings but not others. So, it was fairly common then. Though by 1980, when I attended nursing school, an instructor speaking specifically of BBT procedure simply stated they were done orally.

During my toddler years and when I got up and if I did not look good in the face, my mom would feel my face and if I felt hot, she would go and get the thermometer and come back. Then I drop my pants and lay over her lap for her to insert the cold rod and wait for the 5 minutes to get the results. This was when I woke up not feeling well.
