Surfing the forum I suddenly realized there is very little written about masturbation, yet I'll bet that for most of us masturbation has played some role (for me it certainly did) alongside with medfet when growing up so decided to start a new topic.

In short: how were the early beginnings for you? Do you remember how old you were when you discovered masturbation the first time? How or from whom did you learn it? Did it happen before or after the onset of puberty? Do you think your first 'medical experiences' played any role? And my own views.. My 'first time' happened when I was 10. I'm not 100% sure if I had some early explorations also before but if I had they were definitely not yet sexual. Until age of 10 I was not really interested in nakedness, any genital stuff nor boys so I'm pretty sure I did not play with myself either before that age.

I was definitely not yet in puberty once I got hooked (my puberty started only 2 years later when I was 12+) so apparently it does not take puberty to discover masturbation =) I guess I could say I learned it from my pediatrician, at least in a way, as it was soon after my notorious 10th birthday pediatrician exam (involving genital exam first time ever in my life) that the stuff in my panties got my attention and soon I was all hooked up.

However, puberty starts before such physical signs as hair growth, breast development and menstruation are apparent. The relative hormones, male and female, start to be produced - that in fact is what induces the physical signs to happen. In the interim that early hormone production can awaken sexual interest.

I grew up in a very religious household where sex was not discussed at all. I remember that the first few times that I masturbated was when I was in the second grade, about 8 years old. Great to be reading about female masturbation, something that some people would have us believe never happened. Apologies for posting a male perspective but I had it written before I saw the ‘female’ part of the thread title so I may as well post it anyway.

Back in the dark ages when you could only listen to music on a large radio that plugged into a mains socket, I used to carry the big radio set to the sitting room every Sunday afternoon, lock the door, draw the curtains and turn up the volume to the maximum. We were lucky as many people did not have a radio set or have carpet on the sitting room floor in those days.

I was twelve years old at the time. Yes, I would agree. Orgasms, no matter what age you are, are a gift and not a sin. Fortunately, we are the more enlightened generation than our parents were. I am just glad I have been able to be give my children (grown) healthy and open attitudes regarding sexuality. I always answered their questions regarding sexual matters honestly and with as little bias on all subjects as possible. That is all we can do as parents. And yes, both kids and my husband know what a perv I am. I accept it and embrace it! We are not our parents and thank goodness for that, even though we still loved them, inspite of their antiquated attitudes.
