Yes, that's me and to answer in two words, I do. (...) I belong in diapers! (...) I wanted to be seen (...) and be that diaper wearer I have always wanted to be.
I completely agree with you. After accepting my incontinence, I’ve come to appreciate diapers for the protection they provide. They are for me what glasses are for those with vision problems: an essential tool that allows me to live fully again, whether working, traveling, or enjoying life without the side effects of medication.
My medical records state that I have an overactive bladder due to neurogenic bladder dysfunction, and muscarinic receptor antagonists just don't sit well with me. This means I’m dealing with urinary incontinence and urgency almost all the time. To get support from our public health program, my urologist updates my medical report every three months, confirming that medication isn’t effective and causes numerous side effects. As a result, he notes that I use about 10 cheap adult diapers (doubled) a day, totaling 150 a month — or around 4 to 5 premium diapers each day. I joined this diaper assistance program early in 2023 after my urologist identified the neurological nature of my issue and determined that medication wasn't a viable solution. I’m sharing this because it’s not something we often discuss, and it has been quite the journey.
I wake up three or more times every night due to bladder spasms. I wish I could pee through the night like some of you, without waking up, so I could get a restful sleep. Because of my overactive bladder, which I’ve had since childhood, I’ve never had that experience.
As a side note, leaks don’t bother me either. If you are incontinent, you must accept that leaks will happen sometimes. Don’t let it make you anxious or constantly on alert. Instead, find plenitude, happiness, and pride in being strong and brave enough to love yourself no matter what.
