Pulling down underwear for genital exams

When I had my appointment at the urologist, he just told me to drop em. And then had me turn around and get on my elbows for the rectal

My long time doctor of 25 years or more always had me naked from the time I went in until he was through examining me and talking at the end. Then he left and I got dressed to leave, about a half hour total. That resulted in a few funny incidents after he left the room. His office girl came in with the next persons file folder thinking I was gone when she saw him in his office. I was just getting off the table. One other time when he went to his office for something in the middle of my exam when I was lying on the table. Maybe she just liked doing that to me, after all the years we had become quite friendly. He retired in 2013 and my new doctor never has me naked for the whole 10 or 15 minutes I'm with her. I would think it would be an important part of an annual exam to look at every part of my body especially my ass and genitals as they get sweaty and stay that way for the whole day. I can just imagine what my skin has to protect me from down there, so far it has done that quite well for 82 years. She never looks at anything under my clothing unless I complain about something and who am I to know what else might be growing where I can't see it? When I do ask her about something she always asks if it's OK to look under my clothing. Last week she even asked if it was OK to pull my shirt out to get at my belly. When I had a rash next to my balls she thanked me for showing it to her. I don't know if she thinks I'd be embarrassed for her to see me or if she's embarrassed to look. I did get her to do a naked exam once but I had to push the issue and she's never done it since.

My exams are naked. They give me a small piece of paper or a towl to cover my goodies when the nurs is in the room. The doc listens with stethoscope down my back while I'm sitting, then I lay back less the towel and goes down my front to my genitals. After that I pull my legs up to my chest for the rectum check.

Since I did mention a rectal in my original message, I inquired about a prostate massage to my urologist since I've heard there is health benefits to getting one. So I will be getting a prostate massage at my follow up appointment at my urologist next month

I would always be standing facing the doctor on her stool, and she’d ask me to pull my briefs down to look at my genitals.

@robse01 same here. It was never a major production. The way some people describe it makes me wonder if I had bad doctors.

I went to a pediatrician for a physical exam around 16 and noticed that after lying down for the abdominal exam, he proceeded to unbuckle and open my jeans and pulled up my underwear with one hand while using the other to feel my testicles.

I thought it was different after having visited family practice doctors who would normally ask me to move my clothing. Must've been a pediatrician thing no matter what age.

Thegenesis, what did the dr say as he was undoing and checking you?

Something along the lines of going to undo your pants and lift your underwear a bit and for a quick check of your genitals and their development.

Pediatrician got my panties off to check my genitals when I was a kid

My last physical was with a PA and not my regular doctor. As I was lying on the examination table she paused for a moment and said “Why don't we just get that underwear off as I will be examining your genitals at some point, lift your hips for me” Off they went. I was naked for thee rest of the exam. I felt somewhat uncomfortable about it but they would have been lowered eventually, I guess.

At my first medical the lady doctor pulled my trousers down while I was stood in front of her and felt my vulva through my knickers by pressing, squeezing and cupping. Then she hooked her fingers in my knickers and asked 'can I have a look down here?' while I reluctantly agreed and she pulled my knickers down to my knees. She pulled my lips back wide and looked at my clitoris.

@annie204 How old were you?

I had an older female pediatrician. She'd always pull down my underwear when she had me lying exam table. There, she'd start palpating my abdomen an thighs and before I knew it, my underwear was off. First time she did it, I was completely in shock and immediately erect (which didn't help with the shock, nor did the fact that my mother was present). I tried to sit up but she ordered me to lie still as she went on to palpate my testicles and retract my foreskin several times.

The first time I saw a dermatologist I was about 30. I had a couple of suspicious spots that I was told by my primary care doc to have checked out. The exam was in a gown and my briefs. The doc was female and middle aged. She also had a medical resident working with her (he is the one who cut out the moles--the moles were sent to the lab and were benign).

As part of the exam she had me stand up and hold the gown above my chest so she could examine my lower body. I was standing there in my white briefs and the gown wrapped around my hands holding it up by my face as she examined the backs of my legs. She was standing behind me. Without saying anything she grabbed the waistband of my briefs and first pulled them back to look and then tugged them down to the bottom of my cheeks. She slid her hands along the waistband and did the same thing to look at both sides of my hips. She kept her hands on my briefs the entire time. She then pulled my briefs back into place as they made a slight snap as she released them at my waist.

She then came to the front and put her hands in the front of my briefs and again pulled them forward before lowering them below my scrotum. She then lifted them back into place at my waist and pulled her hands out of my underwear more carefully this time. The whole process took less than a minute but it was completely unexpected.

Up through age 18 my pediatrician had me remove my underwear before the genital exam. So they weren't ever pulled down, just off.

My doctor would usually pull my boxers down to my knees lying or standing up when I was in middle and high school. My current doctor asks me to pull my boxers down before doing a genital exam.

A few times, I had several X-rays and a VCUG aged 4, they were done lying down naked. Every time in a prep room a nurse would remove my lower clothes whilst I removed my upper clothes. I could undress myself and found this extremely embarrassing even at that age.

At an examination at high school aged 15 in 1980 when the doctor slipped her hand down the front of my Y-fronts running her fingers through my pubic hair in one motion. She then pulled my underwear away from me before examining my genitals by touch a couple of minutes later after transferring the nurses data from next door via a card to a form and adding her own observations.

Also had an insurance medical in my 20s where the male doctor undid my trousers and pulled my underwear down as I sat on a table.
