What about the shame exposing male naked buttocks to a nurse for examinations, injections, enemas?

There should be no shame in exposing one's body to a medical professional for examination or treatment. Our "standard equipment" doesn't vary all that much -- and most of them have seen it all before, one way or another.

Just think of all the great and beautiful art from antiquity. Those old Greeks and Romans really knew how to appreciate the beauty of a nude human body, in repose or in action.

So, just let yourself go, Paolo, and you might even find that you are enjoying the event!

Shame is an emotion which is driven entirely by community influence.

As a community (especially in the 'states), we shun sexual contact in general, but especially in odd situations. We are taught from a young age to fear and loath sexual fetishism and adverse behaviour. Fetishists are often lumped in with dangerously disturbed minds, such as child molestors and violent criminals.

But that simply is not the case, at least as I have found it (I may be new to posting, but I have lived as a lurker in the community for years). Fetishism is not dangerous, and it is society, not any higher power, that has taught you to be ashamed of it. That same society compells you to believe many things which are fundimentally incorrect. Should you accept it without question, you are surrendering your power and freedom, and nothing good can come of that. The most important thing in life is to question society, your peers, your elders, and yourself. Heck, question me, and the advice I give you now. We are born with the power of reason. Why should we not use it?

That said, I suppose some people in the scene get turned on knowing only that what they do is taboo...a sort of excitement value, so, if that's you, than ignore what I said, and go for it on your own...

Have never been ashamed at partial or full nudity in medical relations. Part and parcel on occasion.

I used to be very shy of getting naked in front of anyone a long time ago, around the time I first got into high school, however after I started having sex I'm pretty sure all that went away gradually to where now I have no real problems taking my clothes off, especially not to a doctor/nurse. Like Hypodoc said, all standard equipment, so there is really no reason to be ashamed.

I am a long time nudist, so the idea of being shy about being nude in from of others is not likely. It is far more likely for the medical personnel to set the nudity limits themselves.

I haven't ever been ashamed, but i think the nervousness adds to the excitement of the exam, I feel so much more aroused when nervous at the same time.

I am wondering if anyone else feels the same way I do. During my true yearly exam by my male doctor I don't get aroused. But, when I get home I jack off to the thought of it does this happen to anyone else?

I get uncomfortable having to expose intimate parts of my body for medical examination - in fact I've never done it.

I've been putting off seeing a doctor about something that I am sure will involve a finger up my bum.

I'm a guy and had a rectal condition a few years ago which eventually required surgery. During the examinations beforehand, my bottom cheeks were spread and my anus penetrated numerous times by doctors (male and female), often with (female) nurses present, some assisting, some just observing the exam (not sure why that was necessary).

Looking back it might seem exciting or embarassing or erotic, but at the time, I didn't care because I just wanted the problem fixed, which eventually it was. All the people involved treated me very professionally.

In my sexual life, playing doctor is very erotic and I love it, but that's only when I'm not really sick!

The prostate exam is a little weird, no matter who does it male or female, but having been through both I now prefer a female Dr.

I see no shame in exposing your body to a medical professional. I am a male registered nurse and have worked in emergency medicine for 39 years. My medical fetish has nothing to do with the fact I see naked people everyday. Those people need my help. I do not take any joy in seeing a pretty lady nude or partially nude in the ER. I keep those two segments of my life seperate, always. I believe anyone who has gone to the trouble and expense of becoming a medical professional did not do so to get a cheap thrill. They did it because they are dedicated to helping people. Think about that the next time you feel shame for exposing your body to a doctor/nurse/emt/etc.

Having a beautiful nurse pull down my pants for injections is now very erotic, but I didn't always feel this way. Throughout boyhood and adolescence, I had to pull everything down to my ankles and bend over the receptionist's lap for my shots. The thought of her watching my bare bottom injected was even more embarrassing than the frontal nude I presented to the girl before bending across her lap - so much so that I never feared the pain of the shot as much as the humiliation of her seeing me get it back there.

Your body, the whole thing can be thought of as a vessel, like a car, things wear down and you gotta fix those parts. I think it would be more shameful in dying of "butt disease" because you couldn't muster up the power to take charge of yourself.

Shame ? I have had over 50 surgery's and a testicle removed. A penile implant for me there is no shame. At the urologist office two catheters up my pecker and one in my rectum. The Dr and a nurse in the office me naked, they helped me walk over to the urine meter can. Then both staring at me now they say pee into the can, no shame here. So many people have seen everything I could walk down the hall naked in the hospital and not be bothered a bit. But everyone is different. I do understand those that have shame, I am glad I am not one of them. I am not mocking anyone in any way. Just with everything I have had done just glad I have no shame anymore as I would be horrified.

I was not overly sensitive in this area, but did have some degree of embarrasment. With the inevitable passing of the years I have adapted. When you find yourself in the midst of a heart attack or a cancer fight you don't care a fig about who is seeing or touching what. Your only concern is that they know what they are doing and it will work.

A few years ago I had to have an x ray. My appointment at the hospital xray dept was early at 8 a.m. As I changed into a hospital gown a young woman about 17 years old was speaking to a male xray tech who asked her if she had taken a laxative last night. As the conversation continued it became apparant that she had had a Barium Enema the morning before and was this day having an upper GI series.

As I took a seat next to her and her attractive mom the tech told her that "today, unlike what I gave you yesterday, is an oral drink of barium and not an enema like I administered to you yesterday". She blushed as she looked my way and quickly averted her eyes away from me, obviously embarrassed that this stranger had learned an intimate and embaarrassing bit of information and was probably figuring to himself what the scene looked like yesterday. I was definitely embarrassed when I had a suppository inserted in the ER. Before that point, I don’t remember anyone even having seen my anus (except probably my parents when I was a baby), and I treated that part of my body only as a dirty place that needed cleaning, fart and poop jokes notwithstanding.

So I was mortified when the male nurse unceremoniously spread my cheeks wide apart in preparation for the insertion. I had taken a shit not long before, so I remembered worrying about how thorough of a job I had done wiping. The coldness of the suppository on my anus and then the sudden and forceful anal penetration was so shocking that I felt like I had been stabbed in the ass with an icicle, except that it was totally painless thanks to him using a ton of lube.

I was also alarmed and dismayed by how easily I was penetrated -- my sphincter didn't even put up a fight! The prostate stimulation from the nurse’s sausage sized fingers also left me with a mild erection. I was too embarrassed by the procedure to look at him afterwards and I must have turned beet red. The nurse seemed like he was straight, so I doubt he intentionally sexualized the whole thing, but it was absolutely a power trip for him and made me feel like I had been anally deflowered.

Later on, after learning about the prostate and its location next to the rectum I’ve gradually gotten comfortable treating the anal/rectal area as a part of my sexual anatomy. I take an enema and shower before sex because I know my wife will probably put her finger in me at some point, and anal penetration now seems like no big deal, whether for medical reasons or otherwise!

Lack of acoustic privacy is always embarrassing if others can hear the nurse tell me to pull down my pants and bend over for my injection(s).

I'm ashamed every time. Especially women. And then later that day or the next day. That Shame gets me off but it's five six hours later at least if not 12 or 24. Being anxious it's always been a big thing for me it gets me off again hours later but it gets me off

When I was a child, I was not ashamed of the nurse who gave me injections in my buttocks. Then, when I was growing up I started to feel ashamed. I was especially embarrassed by the enema in the hospital when I was 15. The reason was that a student nurse was giving me an enema under the supervision of a senior nurse. This girl was about 1-2 years older than me!

I think people feel shame and /or embarrassment when long ingrained concepts of modesty seem violated. Also if one is caught doing some bad deed.

We're all taught to wear underwear & swim suits that cover front and back (& the female breast), don't show these parts to opposite sex. When these ‘private’ areas are exposed involuntarily in a person unaccustomed to exposure-shame. Happened to me when lady pediatrician exposed me for genital check. One level tells me ‘she’s the doctor, it's ok' but on another level l felt the shame of a woman seeing me.

To me, shame is something I regret or feel embarrassed about something I shouldn't have done, or that the medical staff is purposely humiliating me. So I haven't felt any shame in an actual medical setting from anything I or the medical staff have done.

I do however feel embarrassed, shy, anxious, nervous, excited, dreadful, anticipation, arousal, and probably a whole ton of other feelings. To be honest, I think my arousal is more from all the embarrassment and other mental feelings and thoughts as opposed to any physical feelings. My arousal usually comes after my physicals and exams, not during.

I suppose that the most important shame in medical relations will be when you know upon a subject exactly what you will have to do and what you will have to refuse - and exactly this one you have not done and you will have to live with the the consequences of this.

My first feeling of shame at the doctors office was also feelings of excitement, embarrassment & confusion. It wasn’t a female nurse but rather a male doctor who did nothing more than a visual exam of my anus. Because it was my first exam of puberty my hormones were raging and I had not anticipated such exposure as his warm soft hands held my cheeks firmly apart. Those sensations were volcanic, I’m sure my face was beet red.

Many years later I went to a clinic because I’d felt a slight pain while going to the bathroom. The male doctor asked me to undress and put on a gown while he left the room, then returned with a nurse, female. Positioned on my side the nurse asked me to pull my leg to my chest as she opened the gown exposing my bare bottom. Those feelings of shame and sexual excitement and embarrassment suddenly returned. I looked back over my shoulder at the doctor and nurse as they each positioned themselves on stools, and watched as his gloved hands spread my cheeks. I’m sure my face was flushed but their gaze never left the focus on my anus as they chatted and made observations, though I have no memory what was said. Seemed like the doctor was explaining his observations and diagnosis to the nurse as his fingers touched and pulled at my opening, exposing me like I’d never felt before.

The last shameful feeling was a recent visit to a different doctor regarding what I thought was a minor digestive issue. He immediately said “we should take a look, have you had a sigmoidoscopy before?” then sent me with the nurse for an enema. The nurse was very professional but still I felt a strong mixture of emotions as she bared my bottom, spread my cheeks with her fingers, and inserted the nozzle inside my anus. Later she assisted the doctor with the sigmoidoscope and also an anoscope.

I know that female nurses are not interested in my bare bottom. I respect them for their professionalism and hard work and care. But those rational thoughts can’t stop the intense feelings I get when my most private area is exposed and examined. Whether age 11 or even today.

Shame implies a feeling of wrongfulness due to some inappropriate behavior. Embarrassment isn’t shameful.

I had a perianal cyst lanced. The nurse taped my butt cheeks apart for the doc so he could lance it. More uncomfortable than embarrassing. Had to go back 3-4 times to have the incision packed with cotton. No shame on my part for getting an infection.

I would be ashamed if I saw a doc for contracting an STD. Because I had done something stupid.

Logic doesn’t always work.

As a kid there is a lot of shame around certain things like bodily functions and sex, especially if it’s been scared into you that these things are negative. A lot depends on parenting and youthful experience.

Of course, logically, there’s no shame in me going to the doctor to have a “private part” treated as an adult. But when that area of my body is tied to those old, uncontrollable, negative feelings from childhood, I may still get waves of shameful sensations. And, because the physical sensations are sometimes so good, it can be exciting too. Which compounds the shame because I’m enjoying something that I was taught was ‘bad’.
