Parent listening to your heart

Out of the blue, totally unprompted, my stepmother picked up her steth amd said “let’s listen to your heartbeat”.

Did she ever give a reason for listening to your heart?

Nope.

Peaches' Comment: "No, but that would have creeped me out. Even in Kindergarten we had someone's parent, who was a nurse, visit our class. She went around the circle and offered to listen to everyone's heartbeat. When it was my turn, I blantantly refused. For some reason it felt dirty and I felt embarassed."

This 100% happened to me too. We did a health class thing in a couple of grades, and felt so embarrassed listening to my own heartbeat or just refused to. And it wasn't out of a desire to, it was because I already had this very deep intimate association and hyperfixation of listening to heartbeats that I felt I couldn't exhibit at all in public. There was I think maybe one time I ventured out to listen to a girl's heartbeat during one of those classes, and it was super nerve wracking.

Don't think either my parents tried to listen to my heartbeat, but I could be wrong.

Not a parent, but a former neighbour of ours when I was growing up was a nurse and whenever I had a cold or was unwell she would always insist on checking on me, which of course involved auscultation.
