I was 13 the first, last, and only time I ever had a genital exam in front of my parents. In fact I have only ever had 2 genital exams in my life. The first was when I was 11 and a half and I registered for 6th grade in middle school. After registering they had the boys individually go into a room in the back of the office for our genital exams. When I went in there alone was an old man sitting on a stool and he told me to pull my shorts and underwear down to mid thigh then grabbed my testicles and told me to turn my head and cough. He then told me I could pull my shorts and underwear back up and leave. It only took around 10 seconds. The second and last genital exam I had was when I was 13 and a half and my parents had me start seeing a new pediatrician who was a woman in her mid 30s. Both of my parents were in the exam room for this one and were sitting in chairs in the corner. The pediatrician had me face the wall where she had a large family portrait of her and her husband and child hanging on the wall, as if to emphasize that there was nothing erotic about the exam. She told me to unbutton and unzip my pants then used her left hand to pull my underwear out from my body and used her right hand to reach inside my underwear and grab my testicles. She told me to turn my head and cough and as I did so I looked at my parents with an embarrassed look on my face as they both just smirked at me. I regret that she didn't have me pull my pants and underwear down because I wish she and my mom would have seen what my boy parts looked like.

Sup 17, Interesting that were disappointed that your shorts weren't pulled down so your mother didn't see your genitals. I wonder if a lot of us wish to seek approval from our mothers of our development and so perhaps rival our fathers or am I being too Freud?

Hey johncrossley, I think its just because its always a thrill when a woman sees your genitals, even your own mother. My genitals were getting bigger and my pubic hair had also just grown into a small bush at that age and I wish I could've had genital exams all throughout my puberty so they could have seen how my pubic hair and genitals developed. Also because of phallic narcissism I wanted the reassurance of experienced older women that I was good enough. I remember the pediatrician had asked me if I wanted my parents in the exam room with me(I think she may have lowered my pants and underwear if they weren't). I said yes because I was embarrassed about females seeing my genitals because just the year before my big sister had caught me masturbating. A few days later she had a sleepover with 2 female friends and I overheard them ask her "What did his penis look like?" then heard my sister tell them "It was small!" as they all burst out laughing hysterically and it felt like I had just been stabbed in the heart. Now as an adult its 6.5 inches when hard but I'm still insecure about it. I hope my comment isn't too long and I haven't gone off topic.

For a lot of young guys like Sup17, I think it's just them seeking the ultimate approval and validation of their masculinity from the one woman in their lives whom they know is inherently safe and trustworthy, who won't use their uniquely vulnerable position in that setting as an opportunity to abuse or humiliate them ( usually ).

Hey ILuvLadyDocs, I hope this isn't too off topic but I have an experience where a female ultrasound technician who used my uniquely vulnerable position to humiliate me during a testicular ultrasound. When I was about 19 I noticed what felt like a bag of worms in my scrotum. I then scheduled an appointment for a testicular ultrasound.

When I showed up a couple days later the ultrasound technician who was a pretty woman around 10 years older than me took me to a room with an exam table and a monitor. She then said she would leave the room and told me to get up on the exam table and pull my pants and underwear to mid thigh, then gave me a small towel and said to put my penis on my stomach and the modesty towel over it. She then left the room and I did what she said then she returned to the room, sat in a chair in front of the monitor, put this cold gel on my testicles, and used what looked like was a barcode scanner on my testicles as a black and white image of them appeared on the monitor.

Due to the cold gel and my nervousness(because she was the first person to see my penis since my sister caught me masturbating) my penis shriveled up from its normal 4 inches flaccid size to only around 2.5 inches and popped out from underneath the modesty towel. She looked at my penis then up at my face as she smirked and asked "What's wrong?" in a sarcastic tone. I was so embarrassed I couldn't even think of anything to say and since my penis was shriveled up to just a button I couldn't really cover it back up so I just laid there with it on full display for the rest of the ultrasound. When she was done she got up and told me I had a varicocele and that it could increase the chance of infertility and would require surgery to fix. She then told me that after she left I could get dressed and leave.

While leaving the room I looked down the hallway to my left and caught sight of her just as she entered a room on the right side of the hallway. Just a few seconds after she entered the room I heard several women inside burst out laughing hysterically so I just know she made the small penis sign by pinching her index finger and thumb only a couple inches apart. I then hung my head in shame and left the clinic as fast as I could.

I really don’t remember. At least until 13 although that’s not to say they were closely observing me the entire time. That stopped around 10

@Sup17 I remember a very similar experience in sixth grade. The school doctor checked our genitals and checked us for a hernia. Nothing else was included in the exam. My sister reported a similar experience for the girls during her sixth grade exam at school. She was extremely embarrassed and begged my mom to take her to the pediatrician for her exam. Apparently, the girls also received a thorough genital examination and not much else.

Until about 14 I would say for me.

I started going in by myself at around fourteen. Mom would stay in the waiting room. Once I got my driver's license, I drove myself to my physicals.
