Realistic Play or Fetish/Fantasy Med-Fet Play

I've notice a split in the med-fet community and was wondering what you guys and gals prefer. A realistic medical fetish setting with actual uniforms, scrubs and equipment or the 'fetish' side with rubber uniforms, scenes that don't make medical sense but use medical equipment. Example would be 911 bio-med vs. Bbzzare med. Which do like more. For me it depends on the mood and if they are using anesthesia and/or ambu bags, that does the trick for me.

For me medical role play has to be as real as can be, real uniforms & realistic procedures. However as a rubber lover much of the equipment used in med play gets used but not as a medical device but as a tool of dominance or depravity, depending upon the session.

The "fetish" scene can be fun, but personally, realism encompasses practices and attitudes that give it that magic touch; the discipline involved also makes for a safer/hygienic setting if you are planning to REALLY play doctor.

I can go either way; I think it just depends on the moment and also who it is you're doing it with - different things are more fun with different people.

For us too uniforms as well as procedures must be realistic.

Kusanagi, I absolutely agree with you that it depends on the mood, the setting, and the equipment involved. I usually prefer very realistic exams, but I read what you posted in the fantasy examination thread and was surprisingly excited by it. I admit I have a few wonderful fantasies involving unrealistic elements, but overall, even if the situation is pure fantasy my mind is on the realistic elements when I reach orgasm, and I'd get uncomfortable if my doctors and nurses were acting like they were in a porn movie.

Scrubs, instruments, disposable gloves etc does the trick for me. Would like it to be as realistic it can be, with some exceptions off course. A real life nure/doc would not help you with a sperm sample like my nurse 😃

The more clinical the better imho

The answer would be freestyle rather than strictly clinical. When one indulges in a specific fantasy, the standards are our own to define. It does not mean non-clinical, though, and certainly not bizarre, but only to extract those elements of a clinical setting that makes it magic.

I want the real thing. If you are going to the trouble to do it, do it right.

I guess it depends on whom i'm playing with at the time , person may want it realistic another may want a mix or rubber and medical attire

For me, the more clinical the better. Not into the whole rubber scene. Not into putting scrubs on to just have sex.

I definitely prefer real. Authentic equipment and uniforms, speaking clinically, and conducting realistic exams (no using the stethoscope on the penis, no pelvic/rectal exams without gloves).

I will agree with many of the previous posters; for me it has to be realistic. Of course, there are limits to the level of realism I can achieve since I don't have an actual clinic with a full exam room, but wherever I play, I do my best to replicate that environment as closely as possible. As for the procedures themselves, it's okay if they're very rare in actual practice, but they at least need to make some sense clinically. I can think of numerous things from my play exams in this category. For example:

1) Taking a rectal temperature on a healthy adult patient

2) Using more than one speculum per exam

3) Doing a pelvic exam in the knee-chest position

4) Doing an anoscope or proctoscope exam on an asymptomatic patient

5) A doctor taking the time to administer an enema from a bag

6) ...Or for that matter, a doctor spending more than 30 minutes with a patient at all!

Other things like stething over the genitals (as drjmc78 mentioned) make no sense at all -- although I could potentially see auscultating the femoral arteries, which would be close by. Anything that results in the doctor's clothes coming off is totally out, too.

That being said, if you enjoy highly sexualized medically-themed fantasy play, go for it! Not everyone enjoys what I enjoy (and vice versa).

This discussion has gone on for ages and long ago it was defined and classified but I think people just forget and there are always new people coming on board that just don't know.. A "purist medplayer" or "purist medfet" is the real kind and involves nothing sexual. For example, the doctor never takes his clothes off, no sex toys, no instruments of bright pink, etc, just real medical instruments. As Dr Chad mentions, the realism is to the best degree within the resources of those practicing however. Some people only have the ability to do a virtual exam, some must do in a hotel room on a portable exam table, others actually have an exam room with real equipment. Also, there is nothing wrong with perhaps over-emphasizing certain or all aspects and procedures in an exam (many of Dr Chad's points characterize this). That is still considered real.

And of course the other fetish play which usually involves sex during or at end and also doesn't use realistic procedures or instruments (or even close) and also is based in BDSM and may involve restraints of some type perhaps gags, and pain inducing items such as whips, etc is the med sex or gyn-o-sex branch of medfet practice.

These branches are only the most obvious. Each branch has more sublevel differences that are less defined or more subtle differences and a book could be written on them probably. Because there aren't enough of us quantity-wise in even one of these branches, so we all just co-exist together in most forums and venues I think.

I understand it's a personal preference, totally. My interest is in keeping it real tho I agree with the points made by PlayDrChad.

Personally I am in the most possible realistic role play. Everything should be be fixed an place as so to recreate the peculiar atmosphere of the doctor office, examination room or even OR. The tension and the sense of control tha the patient feels while my gloved hands will examine her body.

As one who is turned on by getting buttock injections from beautiful nurses, role play must be realistic. When getting shots from a dominatrix, I prefer her to wear a nurse's uniform and be strict but sympathetic - just like a real nurse.

I've never had the occasion to engage in a real-life play exam of any kind yet. But let's let's say that if given the opportunity to engage in one of the 'fetish' type of play exams with rubber uniforms and other non-realistic equipment and settings, then I would probably decline.

So that means I'd only go for a realistic type of play exam, with doctor/nurse dressed more or less realistically, using real medical instruments and so on. And if I were really given a preference and a choice, I would not only prefer the realistic type of play exam, but preferably one that uses instruments, settings and clothing approximating the years before the war, say a setting as in the 1920s-30s.

I prefer realistic play. I don't like the rubber and latex uniforms and the random things done with medical tools. I like the real thing, with realistic scrubs and uniforms and exam paper and tools being used for their proper purpose.

I don't really care if an exam is realistic or full of silly fetish activities as long as I get a good hard fucking at the end of the exam.

My wife isn't as into roleplay as I am, so we compromise: start realistic and gradually merge into fetish play. She thinks it's funny to boss her patient around and I get to enjoy a medfet scene.
