Have YOU been catheterized ?

I was hospitalized for a urologic procedure when I was about 11. The morning of the procedure, I was taken by a nurse into an exam room. She had me take off my panties and lie on the exam table. She lifted up my gown to my waist then turned around to prepare the instruments. I really didn't like being on the table with no cover. The door opened and another nurse looked in and asked if her help was needed. She looked at me on the table and I was very embarassed. My nurse said she didn't need help yet and went back to her preparations. While she was working, she told me to bend my knees and pull my legs up so my feet where on the table, then let them fall apart like a 'frog'. The other nurse appeared again, but this time came in the room. She went right to work putting me in position to accept their manipulation. She held my feet together while the other nurse spread my labia with her fingers and swabbed my urethra with a cottom ball soaked in something cold. It made me jump. I would have been a good girl, but they intimdated and embarassed me and I had to be held down while the catheter was inserted.

I understand your frustrations. Just because you were young is no reason for them to be so impersonal and cold!

One time when I was about 4 years old, the nurse held me down to give a shot. She suprised me and so I started to cry. I was planning on being good and did not want to be held down. I started crying and screaming. I'm sure I scared all the little kids in the waiting room.

I had to be catherized for laparoscopic surgery. I was unconscious and a bitch man- hating nurse evidently performed the catherization She traumatized my urethra such that I had bleeding for several days after this happened. I had been previously catheterized with no such adverse result.Any nurse who reads this should take care to be atraumatic during catheterization and leave their man-hating and vengeful assaullt out. Any other such action should result in their termination since they are not fit to be caregivers.

Oh God!How it this possible! The nurse must be very incompetent! If you take care you shouldn't hurt the patient with the catheter! If you have a rubber and flexible catheter, enough lubricated, so "play you for safety"...

Any nurse who reads this should take care to be atraumatic...

Once when I was 15 I had surgery to remove my appendix. The nurse had me remove my panties before going down to the operating room and when I woke up from anesteshia, my pubic hair was shaved and I was sore from a catheter they had inserted while I was out. Now, knowing more about hospital procedure, I probably should have expected something to this nature, but being a teenager, I was very suprised when I looked down after that surgry.

The catheter had been inserted into my little bladder and I was taken to the radiology department for some x-rays. Dye was pushed into my bladder through the catheter and my gown was pulled up for the pictures. At 11, I was very unhappy about this, but I had been sedated after fighting the catheter insertion and was too sleepy to protest much. After the x-rays were taken, my knees were bent and the catheter was removed while several radiology techs and a few med students watched. A towel was placed between my legs and I was coaxed to pee while more x-rays were taken.

When I got to the OR for an examination of my bladder, I saw the stirrups, but didn't know what they were. As I was being put to sleep, I remember feeling my gown being removed and my legs being lifted while two doctors pulled their chairs up to the end of the table. I woke up with a sore bottom and it really burned to pee.

The doctor told my Mom that my bladder was small and would need to be stretched. He also found that I had some irritation of the vagina and said she would need to insert vaginal suppositories for 10 days. I think my Mom liked this, but I did not. She would take her time and made me get in different positions for the insertion. She wanted to make sure the suppository was in deep and stayed in place, so she would hold it in my vagina with her finger until satisfied. The first few times, I cried, but mostly from embarrassment. My Mom would rub my tummy or stroke my thighs with her free hand to help me relax. I went to bed early a few times hoping she would forget...but she never did.

We visited the urologist several times for some bladder stretching. This required another catheterization and filling of my bladder with sterile water.

The procedure referred to is called a voiding cysto-urethragram and I can tell you that they are a pain in the ass to perform. Most women are so shy and embarassed that they take forever to void if they ever do. Many times the voiding views are unobtainable due to the above mentioned reasons.

You had an experience that you had no control over and, unfortunately was unpleasant and uncomfortably painful both physically and psychologically. Had the procedure been done correctly, it would not have been as you experienced.

Around 11 or 12, as a direct extension of self administering enemas from age 9,I began to experiment with urethral play. At the age of 16, when I began to drive, I went to local pharmacies and bought catheters after having spent time in the library of the local nursing college studying the procedure. All of the text stressed emphatically proper size, lubrication, and gentleness.

The very first time I cathe'd myself,I clamped the end, completely lubricated the catheter, inserted the tip, and as slowly and gently as possible, slid the cath in,I came up against the prostate, instead of forcibly pushing, I kept even pressure on it so it would not slide back out and held it in position. As I sat there, I gently gave it a little turn and relaxed as though I was going to urinate. I could feel the tip starting to slide forward, so then and only then did I continue to gently push. After passing my prostate, it moved in more easily. I had only one negative experience, that was in regards to sanitation. I learned very quickly, being that I do not enjoy UTI(urinary tract infection) and from that point to present use sanitary/sterile procedures.

At the age of 18 in 1970, I was in a life threatening vehicle accident. When I came to in I.C.U., I let them know I had to urinate and was moved to a commode to pass urine. I was still in a physically traumatized state and had to sit there to think about releasing in order to urinate. A nurse stood outside the door pestering and annoying me to the extent that I could not relax enough to urinate. Being that my jaws were wired shut from the accident and I had temporary paralysis of one of my arms due to spinal injury, I could not effectively communicate to her to shut up and leave me alone. The next thing I knew, I was forcibly pulled off the commode, put back on the hospital bed,and forcibly catheterized, all the while protesting the best I was able to just leave me alone and I would go on my own, to no avail. As a result, it was a number of years(somewhere between 2-4) before I had any interest in catheter /urethral play. Slowly, I began to remember that I found that pleasurable,so I slowly, began to experiment and play again.

About 6 years ago, I had an emergency medical problem and had to be catheterized in the hospital. I had no sensation that my bladder had almost a liter and a half in it, but my symptoms went away very quickly as my bladder drained. As far as discomfort, it really didn't bother me at all. They used a 16FR catheter (about 5.3 mm in diameter) and it went in very easily. A number of years earlier, I had to be cathed in the hospital and a female doctor that probably was a member of the Gestapo jammed it in me so fast, without pausing as it hit my prostate and sphincter, that the pain was 11 on a scale of 10. If I was not so sick, I would have slugged her. In any case, the nurse that put it in me this time went very slow and used a lot of lube, she paused often, asked me how I was doing, and proceeded this way until it hit the neck of the bladder. At this point, she just pushed very gently until I felt the muscles relax and the catheter just entered the bladder with no trauma or pain. In fact, it kinda felt pretty good.

I had to come home with the catheter and had it in for 4 weeks until it was decided I still needed the catheter and it was time for a change. Things were getting a little raw where the catheter went into me and along my urethra, so imagine my surprise when they said that moving to a larger size would be more comfortable! The explanation was that there would be less movement between me and the catheter. They used a 22FR catheter (approximately 7.3 mm in diameter) and it was interesting getting that in. The biggest hurdle was getting it to first go into the penis, but once it was in the first quarter inch, it went very smoothly. The friction of this big catheter going through me started to cause me to get hard. Great, not only was this embarrassing for me with a pretty cute nurse holding me tight, but the cath now had to traverse a much greater distance! Hitting the bladder was also interesting. I was trying keep a hard-on under control while being reassured that this was a perfectly normal reaction.

Once that catheter was in place I was back at home for another 3 weeks with a urine drainage bag as a constant companion. When I went outside, I switched to a leg bag, but the constant sensation of that large catheter being felt along the entire urethra was an incredible turn-on and I was very self conscious about a very visible erection.

I had that catheter changed a number of additional times by the nurse, and a few times my wife or I did it (we are both in the medical field). I finally went back to work 5 months later... with a leg bag. I have never had an infection and I have been studied as to what I do to be so lucky not to have one.

For those that are into catheter play, I would strongly urge you study everything you can about maintaining everything perfectly sterile as you insert the catheter. That means gloves, lube, and everything. Once you touch something with a sterile glove, if it is not something already sterile, your gloves are no longer sterile. You also need to drink like a fish to keep your bladder flushed during and after catheter play.

Oh, by the way, my wife and I did experiment with cumming with the catheter in and it's a blast. When having sex, you can fold the catheter back over the penis and put a condom over it. You don't want to go into a vagina without a condom over the catheter since the vagina (even one you love) has a lot of normal bacteria and you don't need any following the catheter back into the bladder.

One more note for catheter play with a foley catheter (the kind with the balloon), typically these are listed as 5cc balloons. These are actually filled with up to 10cc of sterile water and this is what most manufacturers of catheters recommend. It is important not to use less than the 5cc that is printed on the catheter packaging because it may cause the tip to bend to the side and increase irritation inside the bladder and cause more spasms. 5cc is the minimum necessary to ensure that the tip remains straight.

Bummer. I'd always hoped that if I needed something like an appendectomy or gallbladder removal I could convince the nurses to cath me when I was awake and let it in so I could feel it coming out too.

I have been having some problems with being able to properly urinate. My Urologist scheduled me for a Urodynamic study test today. I showed up at 9:15am and a blonde nurse dressed in very sexy purple scubs had me empty my bladder first to see how it was coming out. Then the nurse told me to undress from the waist down and sit on the exam table with a paper blanket over me. She came back into the room and told me she was going to put some sensors on the cheaks of my ass and a rectal catheter on my rectum. She had me bend over the exam table to attach the sensors to the inside of my ass cheaks. Then she had me get on the table and put my legs in the stirrups. She then told me she was going to insert her gloved finger into my rectum and for me to tighten my muscle down around her finger when she did. When she did this I instantly felt my penis become erect. She then told me she was going to pinch the head of my penis while she still had her finger in my rectum to test the sensativity. When she did that she made me really erect. She then told me she was going to insert a catheter into my urethra and down into my bladder to empty my bladder. She put a small glass bucket between my legs and inserted the catheter, as it went in the urine started to come out and my penis was now fully erect. After she emptied my bladder, she then told me she was going to insert another catheter with a sensor on the end back into my bladder. She connected all the sesors to a computer and said she would now start with the test. When it was in she asked me to cough twice. Then she told me she would fill my bladder with water to see how much I could hold. After several minutes and about 1000 cc's of water she stopped it. At this point she asked me to help her hold my penis while she helped me off the exam table and over to a toilet chair. After explaining to me to sit down and empty my bladder she left the room. She returned several minutes later and I had emptied by this time. She disconnected all the leads to the machine and asked me to bend over the table again to remove the sensors and rectal catheter. Then she had me lay down on the table again and removed the urethral catheter. She then told me to lay back down on the exam table and she began to clean me up with a dry paper towel. She whiped around my anus and then started to clean my erect penis. Just after she started to whipe it. I felt a great sensation and I let out a load of semen. I told her I was sorry. She told me it happens all the time and for me not to worry about it. She helped me off the table and told me I could get dressed. She then left the room. After I finished getting dressed, I left the room and went down the hall to the office to finish the paperwork. As I rounded the corner. I saw the pretty nurse and another nurse giggling to themselves in the nurses station. I smiled and they smiled back as I walk by.

I would recommend this procedure to anyone who can get their Urologist to schedule it for them!

I am not one to disbelieve a fellow poster, but is what you described exactly what happened, in a real life medical exam? I found the ejaculation portion, including the nurse's matter-of-fact commentary, a bit difficult to imagine, in particular. And you peed with the catheter still in? But then I have had some odd real life experiences myself.

What was described is actually pretty accurate, medically. When they put the catheter with the pressure sensor into your bladder, it is a pretty small catheter and after they fill your bladder with saline, they have you pee it out around the catheter, The bladder catheter reads the pressure exerted by your bladder, and the rectal pressure catheter reads the pressure exerted by your lower abdominal muscles. This gives them an idea if your nerves and muscles are working normally for urinating.

The real trick would be trying to pee around a 22 or 24 french catheter!

The procedure that I described was very accuate indeed. Whether some other members believe it or not is soley up to themselves!

I am wondering how many of you girls ever had a foley catheter inserted at the doctors office or in the hosp and I'm wondering like how old you were at the time and for what reasons it was inserted.. as well as how you felt when it went in.

I've never had a catheter during a real exam but i have had it done to me several times during play exams. I kind of like the feeling but i always get kind of a burning sensation when it is removed but its not that bad.

I had a urodynamics study several years ago. I found it to be very unpleasant, althouygh it is a medical fetishist's dream. First I was wheeled into a large surgical room, where I saw a long table with stirrups at the end, and lots of computer equipment all around. I saw a woman bent over some piece of equipment in the corner. The nurse who escorted me gave me a urinal to pee into, right in the middle of the room. The woman who was working in the corner walked past my whild I was doing this. I noticed that there were small windows in the doors to the hallway outside. So much for dignity.

The nurse told me to get on the table, and helped me get my feet into the stirrups. I figured that this would be a first for me, but the stirrups were fairly low and not very wide. She had a lot of trouble getting a catheter into me, since I was there to investigate an enlarged prostate. She tried several times, then said that she was going to call the Dr. in if she didn't get the catheter inserted properly, but she succeeded that time. Then she announced she was going to put a senson into my rectum. She had all sorts of problems finding my anus, which surprised me a bit, considering it should have been visible in the position I was in. I told her I whought she was above the mark, and I felt the tube slip in. The senson was very small, so I barely felt anything.

She placed senson pads on either side of my anus, and on my inner legs. She taped the bundle of wires and tubes, and led me to a potty chair. The Dr. came in, and connected the leads to a computer, and I saw several parallel lines on the screen.

He started filling my bladder, and I saw some of the lines get wavy. At some point, the catheter or sensor wire pulled out of my urethra, stinging a bit as it slid out.

It was all very uncomfortable. I felt violated by the whole experience, and I am a medical fetishist of the first rank. This is not a procedure for the shy person.

I had mine done at the hospital. They needed a sterile urine sample and then left it in because I was going to surgery.

I had a cath about 8 months ago in hospital..I loved the feeling of the female nurse putting it in.( I am a Bi female ) It hurt so good when it went into my bladder.

My wife had some problems about a year ago with an overactive bladder and had to go to a Urologist for a sterile urine sample. She was put up in stirrups and she couldn't see what went on with the drape being in the way but, that she felt something go into her, probably a spreader, and then she really didn't feel anything more until she felt a small pinch when it entered her bladder...not much else. She remarked that pee went all over and got the doc.

During a summer intership got to observe several surgeries, both long and short. In the majority of cases if the patient did not have a foley catheter during the procedue, then they were in and out catheterized at the end of the procedure. Usually the anesthesologist would order the patient to be I&O cathed if the case took longer than 30 minutes or if the patient received large amounts of IV fluids.

Majority of the time the patient never knew they were cathed during the procedure.

Medic, interesting observation you made. That may explain a comment made to me by a nurse once....I had a surgical procedure done and was under general anesthesia. Back in my room recovering, a nurse came in with a 16fr urinary catheter to help me void, and I made the simple remark "gee, that looks big". She replied "no, it's not that big, just one size bigger than what they use in the OR". I did not understand why she said that, but it may very well be that I was cathed while I was under and never knew it.

I have had to have one at various times over the years. When I was a teen that was my first time and it did not feel good. And over time I had it done and it was easier. Now in medical play, I always have enjoyed it.

I've never been ill enough to have a catheter inserted in a real medical situation, but have received them on numerous occasions from a play doctor. There is nothing that makes you more vulnerable in the moment than having the doctor or nurse washing your penis with the antisceptic solution, lubricating the penile meatus, and running that long rubber tube up into your bladder. It is an internal stimulus that is different and more powerful than any external stimulation could ever be. I really enjoy it from time to time, when the doctor thinks it necessary for a sterile sample of my urine, or simply to prepare me for some other kind of examination that would be disturbed if the patient had to "get up and go" while the procedure was being conducted.

Getting "cathed" with a foley catehter can be a real turn on. When done properly (proper sized catheter, inserted slowly, advanced gently with plenty of sterile lube)it should not hurt the patient at all. I like being naked with my legs spread open (feel very vulnerable) on the procedure table and having the foley catheter inserted into me. After it is all the way in me and the balloon is inflated I know I have no control any more. Usually, the "Doc" injects sterile saline into my bladder until it is full. This causes maximum discomfort to have a full bladder and not be able to empty it as usual.

I don't think anyone can enjoy any part of a kidney stone procedure. hope all is well with you now.

I had a similar experience. Because of a bladder control problem my mom took me to the urologist. He tried to stretch my urethra with sounds but it was too painful. He said I needed to be put out so I went in the hospital. I was about 13 or so. To make matters worse, I got my period the day I had to go. I was put out and they stretched my urethra and did some tests to check my bladder. After I woke up, with a cath in place, I had to have X-rays of my bladder. They filled it full and took the x-rays. Then, they had me sit on a bed pan and pee while they took more. I had a HUGE pad on and it was full also. They were very kind and tried to help me without embarassing me. It's amazing how much I am now turned on by these things.
