When was the first time you used a tampon and what was your first expierence like? Did you continue to use them of did you switch to another type of pad? Did you use a particular brand and have you ever used two tampons at the same time?

When was the first time you used a tampon?

- I believe it was the second time my period ever started.

What was your first expierence like?

- I didn't put it in right..therefore it was very uncomfortable. I was really new to that whole new "hole" down there so it was my first time putting something in there. Those suckers need to be put in just right too!

Did you continue to use them?

- I still use 'em!

What brand do you use?

- Kotex

What level of protection do you use?

- It all depends where I'm at in my cycle. The first two days I have to wear Super Plus because I have such a heavy heavy flow. I also have to wear a pad with the tampon too. After the first two days I'm ok to wear a Regular.

Have you ever used 2 tampons at the same time?

- Not intentionally lol. I've forgotten to take the first one out before I put the second one in. Must have been tired!

When was the first time you used a tampon?

My first cycle. Was doing swimming lessons so had no other options.

What was your first expierence like?

I only remember that the tampon didn't want to come out when I tried removing it. My mom said to pull harder otherwise she'd come in and do it for me. I did pull harder and all came out well.

Did you continue to use them?

I used tampons up until about 9 years ago(that was for 26 years). Then I started using a diva cup.

What brand do you use?

Kotex

What level of protection do you use? Depended on the day. Heavy flow meant super plus, lighter were for regulars.

Have you ever used 2 tampons at the same time?

I never did do that.

When was the first time you used a tampon?

I tried to use them multiple times prior to loosing my virginity, but I couldn't ever get them in. The first successful time I used one I think I was about 25, so about 13 years after my period started.

What was your first experience like?

Well, before I had sex, when I put one in it burned and hurt really bad. I just couldn't get it up past my hymen, so I continued to use pads.

The first time I actually did get one inserted correctly, or should I say got one all the way in, it still wasn't comfortable, and it felt like I had a broom stick shoved up there. Then getting the sucker out was even worse than putting it in, ouch!

Did you continue to use them?

Nope, I stopped for another 10 years or so. It just wasn't worth it for me, it was too painful both coming and going and not to be gross or anything, but, I didn't have my PCOS under control then and had huge clots. Tampons don't stop those and they come out around a tampon so I had to wear a pad anyway.

I started wearing them again after I started dating the doctor/boyfriend. First of all, I got my PCOS under control so the clot factor isn't a problem. Also, not sure if it's my age, his size, or me being more in tuned with my own body, or perhaps they have many different sizes these days, but I can wear them now and they no longer hurt going in or coming out, and are comfortable and basically unnoticeable while inside. As they should be.

What brand do you use?

I can only use the Playtex Sports. They are smaller and shorter than most. O.B.'s are small like that too, but yuck, they don't come with applicators. lol

What level of protection do you use?

Depends on the day for me as well. Usually the first few days I wear a tampon and a pad because both are needed. The next few days after that, just a tampon. Then during the last few days only a panty liner. I am not flowing heavy enough to use a tampon then, and if I were to put one in, it would hurt coming out and probably going in as well because it would be too dry.

Have you ever used 2 tampons at the same time?

Oh heavens no. Are you kidding me? I can barely get one in much less two. Let me put it to you this way, and I'm not trying to brag, and I'm not criticizing here by any means, but, I had to have both my kids via C-section for a reason. And that reason was because I seem to be abnormally small and tight in that department. Both of my OB's knew after my initial internal exam that if my body was cutting off the circulation of their two fingers, there wasn't a chance in hell a baby would ever come out of that, lol.

And that's what I have to say about that. lol

TAMPONS

I would say they are one of mans best inventions... Some who know me well would say I feel the same way about the speculum.

I really hate pads and anything that resembles a diaper! For those who like them, enjoy them!

I started my cycle very young. I was also very active in everything including gymnsatics. Looking back, my hymen was probably long ago ruptured due to falling on those bars and the beam. I started my cycle right after turning 11yrs old. The cramps had me doubling over. My mom was concerned. She took me into our family GP, who I referred to my mom as "Dr. Geezer" due to his older age and being old fashioned.

He decided he needed to do a bimanual exam. (i have written on that in another post). After, his nurse came in and asked me if I knew how to use tampons. She was kind enough to teach me... I am so grateful. By the way, she was the wife of old Dr. Geezer...

My first time using a tampon i was 12.it was not to bad inserting kinda felt funny and ive used tampons every since the first time..i have aways been one to buy kotex tampons..and yes when i flow hard i have used 2 tampons at a time..

The first time I ever used a tampon I was twelve, before I even got my periods. Mom had told me about them and how they work. I visited family in the south durring the summers and there were some free ones at the local pool. I put one into my swim bag and took it back to the summer house. I didn't tell anyone but I played with it for a while when I got home and finally inserted it.

It was not very fun. Since I wasn't on my period it was very dry and felt like a rock inside. I waited for it to stop hurting, and then tried to pull it out. But I couldn't. It hurt.

Yes, when my periods eventually started around 13 I began using tampons and only use tampax.

Level of protection changes and I have never used two at once.

How did you ever get it out of you?

My GF had never actually used them before.. I was the first to use one on her and inserted it for her at the age of 21

I began using tampons at age 12 when I started my period.. My family and I were at the beach and I wanted to swim.

Cant use pads as I am allergic to them!

I use any that are on sale but usually use super and super plus

I have used 2 at a time more than once due to not knowing i had 1 in.. When i pulled it out the other string came down.. oppsy!

What was your first expierence like?--I first tried when I was in my teens but was worried they would hurt. Some dummie told me to practice befoe my perioud but that didn't work because they didn't go in as well and hurt. I finally realized they would work better when I was on my period and sure enough, no problem at al.

I was 12. I used towels for the first few times, but then I was shown how to use one.

I still use them, as they mean I can get on with every day life, that I couldn't with a pad like swimming and being on a nudist beach.

I first tried tampons when I was 9 or 10, well before I started getting periods. I was visiting a friend's house while her older sister was out, so we were playing in her sister's room. My friend knew lots more about puberty than I did, so she decided to show me her sister's pads and tampons. It was the first time that I had actually seen any feminine hygiene products. My friend demonstrated how to insert a tampon then I tried too. She clearly had some experience using tampons (even though she hadn't started her period yet), but it was the first time that I'd tried to insert anything. As you can imagine it didn't work that well and I stopped trying when it started to hurt. I didn't try to use tampons again until I was 15, but when I did start using them I didn't have any problems. I still use tampons if I need to, but I've always preferred pads.

If I use tampons they're normally libra mini or regular non-applicator tampons and I've never used more than one at a time.

When was the first time you used a tampon? It wasn't for the first time I had my period, but it was during that first year. I started menstruating in the early 70s so if you used napkins you had to use a belt with them and they were really sort of ugly.

What was your first expierence like? I told my mom that I wanted to try them because I had several friends who did. She bought me a box of Tampax Juniors and was very supportive. She coached me in the bathroom and I finally got one inserted properly.

Did you continue to use them? Yes, after the first time there was no going back. Like I said the napkin and belt thing was too awkward by comparison.

What brand do you use? I started with Tampax but tried Playtex. I loved the Kotex stick tampons that were sold in the late 70s and there was a time when I liked those without applicators such as OB.

What level of protection do you use? I'll usually wear supers, but on a light day it might be a regular absorbancy.

First time was only a few years ago. When I first started menstruating, mom only showed me pads and my sister only used pads. Never really thought about trying tampons, until I found myself going to the beach more and periods were heavier, so I thought about trying tampons.

Very uncomfortable. Couldn't seem to insert it correctly, mainly just not getting it in far enough to sit right. Still can't seem to insert them well. Think I need a lesson in inserting them properly!

Did you continue to use them?

I will use them on occasion when I need to go swimming or something like that. But I still can't get them to feel comfortable enough for me that I don't use them on a regular basis. Quite annoying because i'd really like to use them more often!

What brand do you use?

I have tried many brands and levels, thinking that would make the difference for my comfort. The ones that feel the least uncomfortable are playtex sport, also easier to get the tampon inside with their applicator

What level of protection do you use?

I will use just the regular/medium protection most often. The lights are too small and don't absorb everything and I'll leak, and the heavy/supers are just too uncomfortable

I was 17, and started using them because wearing pads was starting to feel like diapers.

I sat in bed with a mirror between my legs. I was trying to figure out where the heck the opening to my vagina was, and finally just pushed my finger where I suspected it was. When it slipped inside, I knew I had found it. Then I awkwardly held the mirror steady and tried inserting it. That went pretty well. Felt ok, until I stood up. I had to push it further in, but went about my day. Taking it out for the first time felt super weird.

"Did you continue to use them?"

Yes! I've never gone back to pads. No more "diaper rash", smelliness, or weird bulge in my underwear. Also, a lot easier to just tuck in my pocket on the way to the bathroom, and they're cheaper.

o.b. I actually like the non-applicator because it's less wasteful and personally I find it's easier to insert. They're so tiny!

"What level of protection do you use?"

Super in the beginning of my cycle, regular as it ends.

Nope. That's sounds really uncomfortable, and unnecessary.

First Time?

The first time I used a tampon, I was about 15 years old and going on a summer camp trip to the local water park. I borrowed 2 cardboard applicator tampons from my sister.

Experience?

It was just a little uncomfortable for the first time. I think I was more worried about the string popping out of my bathing suit bottom.

Brand?

I mostly use pads now, but I will use a couple tampons each period. I usually buy Tampax or Kotex in Super or Super Plus.

2 Tampons?

I never used 2 tampons at the same time.

When was the first time you used a tampon? I was 13 and had had a couple of periods, but thought pads were icky. Most of my friends used tampons so I was ready to try.

What was your first expierence like? It was pretty embarrassing because I had gotten my period and was going to change my pad when a couple of my friends asked what I was doing. When I told them I was about to change my pad, they insisted that I try a tampon. It was a Playtex slender regular and I remember that it went in OK on my first try.

Did you continue to use them? Yes, I did for many years but then heard about the Diva Cup, bought one and love it. I still carry a tampon or two in my purse just in case I need one.

What brand do you use? I like OB without applicators because they are small and better for the environment

What level of protection do you use? Usually regular, but I have some supers around the house, too.

Have you ever used 2 tampons at the same time? No, but I have heard about doing that if your flow is really heavy

I did but I've had an ablation so I don't get my period anymore. I used to use them during the heaviest part of my flow and then just used a liner at the end. I was a little freaked out about toxic shock.

My first time using tampons I was 15 just after my first period My first experience with them was painful, but not so much i couldn't handle it. I guess my hymen wasnt broken in yet. I've never switched back to pads seeing tampons are the only thing i've ever known. I used to use Playtex, but now i use U by Kotex [pretty colors ^-^] I used the medium type or the light type seeing my periods are heavy at first but then lighter after the 2nd day. I've never used 2 tampons at once.

The first time I started my menstrual was on vacation at my grandmother's house... she had no pads... no tampons... she went to the rag bag and tore me some strips of cloth and handed me a safety pin.. I made due for my first cycle... when my second period came around I was back home with my folks... when I started I told no one... just raided my mother's stash... the first tampon hurt like a sob going in... (but now I understand why) I was so thankful to not have those blasted rags and safety pin... it seemed a small price to pay

LOVE tampons!

I use TAMPAX Radiant as they are unscented vs TAMPAX Pearl. Teh scented make me itch.

I started using them the afternoon after of the first day I started my menses at menarche. Much better than using pads and had no problems with insertion or discomfort in using them for the first time.

Absorbency: it has varied a great deal back and forth over the years.

I don't use more than one tampon at a time.

I was staying with a friend and her sister told me what to do, and it was not as bad as I was expecting.

I try and use Tampax Pearl, but because I travel a lot I sometimes have to use other brands.

Kinkyactionguy - I find it very hot, but limit it to girls I know and feel 100% safe with. The risk from an unknown stranger is too much for me. But within the bounds a someone I know and feel safe with, it turns me on greatly. If I had the chance I would remove her used one, eat her out thoroughly, and then put a new one back in.

I was 10 years old when I first started using tampons . My mum showed me them and said I could use them but not until I'd has a few periods . It was my 3rd bleed.

It hurt like he'll the first time.It took lots of practice getting them in at the right angle but they were comfortable.By around 6 months of bleeding I had mastered them completely and have used them ever since.

I use Tampax or Lil-lets .Doesn't really matter which.

I use super plus for the first 3 days at least then regular and usually by day 7 a lite one .Then it's over with for the month.
