E-Stim "flops"?

Anyone here did not find E-Stim fun?

I loved the idea of E-stim, but when I tried it, I did not enjoy it at all.

I bought a commerical stimulation box (can't remember the brand right off, but it was of asian manufacture and marketed for sex stimulation) and I tried a couple different electrode setups...on my perineum, anally (which was the big turn-on for me) and on my penis.

Nothing great.

I got some anal contractions (using a bipolar rectal electrode) and things, but it was more of a quiver. I used conductive gel and I am familar with how to do electrodes from my previous life in medicine, but even then I got some pain, and not in a good way...it was more of quivering and being generally uncomfortable than the big movements I had expected.

Has this happened to anyone else? While not super-expensive, the setup was a couple hundred in the end and basically did nothing but make me fairly uncomfortable and I can be uncomfortable for a lot less money than that.

Am I the only one around here for whom E-stim was a lot of nothing? It could just be that I did not buy the right gear, but as you can imagine I am not very interested in spending more money on what could be an even bigger disappointment.

Like many things, what turns some people on, is a dud for others.

Also, some things that are great in fantasy are a flop in reality.

There is no 'right' or' wrong' carrfear, with e-stim. Apart that is from taking care of such matters as not 'crossing the heart' etc - or e-stimming with a pacemaker fitted etc.

Very few people get it right for the first time - or even many subsequent times - and there are some who never get off on it.

It's all a matter of trial and error in the placement of probes, pads, clips etc but equally in the type of stimulation programme/pattern emitted by the control box. Only you can feel the sensations and if it's not working for you then don't bother to persevere without experimenting with something else untill you do find something your body likes.

It's rare too for someone to cum/ejaculate just from e-stim - most people, male and female, need additional manual stimulation and it is with orgasms that are produced by manual stim plus e-stim that the difference in the feelings of orgasms are noticed.

So, for "am I doing something wrong" substitute "lets try something else". If you are playing solo then it will be better for you to try to find someone to play with you. The play will be so much more productive if there is an additional erotic input by a playmate.

I can attest to it sometimes taking years to be able to HFO. Its all about finging the perfect combination to make everything work. Don't forget that half of what you experience is mental too. You have to want e-stim to feel good. You shouldn't ever doubt that it will cause you to orgasm.

Try using a larger surface on the cock. Sometimes the pad has a very small actual stim area. Also try wet paper towel. Wrap the wet towel around the shaft and then hold the pad on the towel. That will spread out the nauty electrons.

I guess I'm just lucky. I had an HFO the first time I tried E-Stim and every time since then. And that first time was with a pretty crude set up. My experience with an ErosTek unit was similar to that of Just Al with the TENS--I couldn't keep an erection with that unit. Sensations were way too sharp and intense. I have used our ET-312B on two women besides myself.

The first absolute, unmitigated rule is DO NOT place a small pad electrode directly on the clitoris.

The pads can go anywhere near the clitoris, along the sides of the clitoris, the current can flow past or over the clitoris, but do not put a pad ON the clitoris.

I know men love a pad electrode on the underside of the head of their dick and an electrode up their ass, but if you do that on a women (clit and ass) you'll only get to do it once.

If any of you women have had a good experience with an electrode ON your clit, I'd be happy to hear about it, but the two women and I have felt the stimulus was unbearably strong even on a low setting. It was kind of like you set it extremely low so you could sense a tingle, and one number higher, and we were screaming to turn it down.

I'll second Susie on this one. There are two issues:-

1. The contact area is too small for such a sensitive location and the smaller the contact area the higher the stimulating response at any setting. This means that one 'step' between the settings can range from maybe no sensation to EeeeeeoW! I do use clips which have a very small contact area but these go on the outer labia which are less sensitive and there is a greater mass of tissue.

2. Pads, which are attached with an adhesive coating, will not stick reliably to a moist clitoris. They will peel off gradually, probably unnoticed, and as they finally part that last tiny contact will break with an unfortunate and unpleasant jolt.

It's far better, as Susie also says, to arrange for the stimulation to flow across the clitoral region. Do this with a pad immediately above the clitoris (low down on the pubis) with the other on the perineum - or a pad high up on each of the outer labia. The original question, from carrfear, referred to e-stim 'flops', i.e. not particularly effective or pleasant. Many people get nothing at all from e-stim or find it distinctly unpleasant. I've been fortunate enough to try e-stim on a few occasions, very successfully and enjoyable. Even to the point of us both using it at the same time and it emitting a frequency between us, which was stimulating.
