Using a collins speculum is quite different from the old "duck bill" kind. the vagina opens side to side more naturally. the collins, when opened is great at exposing both the clit and the urethra. once inserted, the cath goes in easily and the clitoris can be manipulated freely...orgasms are sometimes a bit painful if the recipient bears down really hard.

If you are looking for wide, you should have a Trelat speculum open your vagina. It opens like a Collins, but where the Collins has the hinge, the Trelat also separates on a rack and pinion (for those mechanically inclined). It can open very wide.

I believe that technically, a Collin Speculum is supposed to be inserted with the bills top and bottom, as per the way that other speculums are inserted. Using it side to side is more of a fetish world position - in order to have access to the urethra and clitoris for play.

I have 2 stainless steel Graves speculums, one for rectal and one for vaginal, they were my first acquisitions outside of thermometers & large colon tubes. Since then, I have added assorted proctoscopes and anoscopes.

Also I have acquired a very nice and serviceable stainless steel cone shaped dilator with dilation increments of 5 per going from 20 -50 ( cm ? ), the overall length is 7" with insertable length at 5". There is another odd two billed speculum that I am repairing, it was purchased @ a indoor antique flea-market. The adjustment threads were bent and worn, the pivot hinge point flanges are worn wide producing a wobble and are being difficult to realign, the set screw will not hold it properly wobble free. When finished, it will be a welcome addition.

Well, now I've tried an anal gape and a vaginal speculum I thought that I should let you all know about it. I started with my usual enema prep during the afternoon so that I'd be ready when my husband got home in the evening.
