Who likes to be told they are getting a suppository?

I’ve been a nurse 40 years and when you go in a patient’s room that knows what’s going on and you tell them the doctor ordered you a couple dulcolax that smile leaves their face, especially men with a female nurse is standing there with the suppositories in the clear cup, greased up! Pull your underwear down and roll over and scoot over to the edge of the bed and bend your legs up a little! Spread those cheeks and put a little KY on the booty hole then get those gloves on and stick it as far as it will go and keep your finger up his butt to make sure he’s not going to squirt it out! Then repeat! Wipe the KY off and tell him if you don’t go in a couple hours I’ll give you a fleets ! I did ask the ones capable of getting up and doing it themselves did they want to do it?? I didn’t mind one bit! I have had these jump up and throw the gown off and bend over and spread their own cheeks!

I’ve had patients tighten those cheeks up so tight I thought I was going to have to call for help to pry them apart!

I love to push it deep and hold my finger in it for a long time

When I had to give suppositories at work to men, the old ones that didn’t know they were getting one I would have someone help me turn them to the side and I just pushed it as far as it would go and fasten his diaper back! Men in their late 30’s to 70’s that were well aware of what was going to take place and I would ask them if they preferred doing it because they could but very few did! You wouldn’t believe what some of those men did to get it stuck up their butt! Some rolled over and stuck their butt up, some stood up and bent over and held their cheeks apart and some rolled over embarrassed to death and tightened that butt up. Certain ones in some positions knew but they didn’t care and I would stick one at the time and hold my finger in their butt just because it wasnt bothering them. I even got a grunt and moan and their butt moving around and I would say that’s it!

I like to be told that because I think a suppository medication is much better

Being told I was going to get a suppository would make me instantly hard…. being told I was going to get an enema would make me throbbing hard. being told I was getting both… and likely more than one … would make me fall in love.

Years ago in the hospital in my 20s, a nurse gave me a shot in my thigh when I was throwing up. It hurt so much that I screamed. Later that night, I was feeling nauseated again. I told a different nurse what happened that morning, and I didn’t want another shot. She was sympathetic and said not to worry. “We have other ways,” she smiled. I was never so happy in my life to feel her pushing a suppository up my behind. “This is going to burn a little, but it’s not bad,” she said. Within a few minutes, I was feeling better but very sleepy. The nurse came back to check on me a while later. I vaguely remember looking up from the bed and telling her, “I love suppositories.”

Being told is an absolute prerequisite as far as I am concerned. “I have some medication for you dear. It goes in your bottom. No, No. It isn't a shot," (smiles) and then says for you to, ”Turn over."

The unexpected anticipation and the possibility that you have never received anal medication adds to the mystery and tension. The exposure of one's rosebud and the sudden knowledge of cold KY being applied is all that you have to process until the insertion. Your bodily reaction is to clench as the finger pushes past your sphincter inserting the suppository far into you anal passage. I don't know how anyone could anticipate this unless you have a history of receiving anal medication. Being told has to create mental tension and confusion. “What?" “I have to get it in my butt?” To which the nurse must smile and say, “Well it will go in your rectum.”

Yes to my childhood I've had plenty of suppositories so I know what you are talking about

I would love to hear that being said to me. I had even imagined the people I want to be there when they say this to me.

I would like to resist and be forced to take it.

When I was a kid I disliked my mother giving me a suppository. She used one in the morning if she had given me a dose of laxative the night before and I didn't have to go as soon as I woke up. I especially disliked the bisacodyl suppositories she gave me when I was in my teens because they caused a much stronger burning sensation in my rectum than the glycerin suppositories she had used when I was younger. I also have vague memories of her giving me the long children's glycerin suppositories when she was toilet training me to force me to move my bowels at a certain time each day.

My sister and I got suppositories as a child into my teenage years ,moms preference for nausea/vomiting. Long slender suppository sticks about like a thermometer or a large glycerin suppository for Constipation. When I was 36 I had to have both hips replaced 3 months apart . On the 2nd day after surgery. Nurse came in my room asked if I had a Bowel movement or if I felt like I need to go. I said no then she said it doesn’t look like the stool softeners we’re working. I may need a suppository if I didn’t go soon. After physical therapy I got back to my room my pain medication was still working so she said it would be a good time to get that suppository. I went ahead and agreed because I knew I was not gonna get discharged the following day until I had a BM she left the room then returned about 20 minutes later she opened the suppository from the rapper laying it on the counter put on a pair of gloves said let’s get you ready she went ahead and pulled my shorts off add me layover on my nonsurgical side nursing assistant help me Support the other leg and she pushed a suppository and held it in place for a couple seconds deep inside yes it was a little embarrassing but then getting up and he’s in the bathroom on the bedside toilet what is the worst part but it worked pretty much the same thing after the second surgery different nurse but pretty much the same thing

I have wondered: I know it’s a nasty job. But do nurses like the fact that they have to give someone a suppository, enema, maybe a rectal temperature or a shot in the butt.
