I have some experience in this form of play, while this ca be very fun and an interesting and intense form of B & D it does have some inherent risks. "Peter" is correct sterile equipment is a must, whether you boil it, or use disposable catheters is up to you. I like some of the more antique type equipment, having a bit of a antique medical fetish, and have had good success using a bleach and hot water solution for sanitizing of my equipment. Re-usable enema bags should be avoided, there is way to much risk of residual bacteria in the bag and hose, a sealed disposable enema from a medical supplier is probably ok. NEVER inject anything other than sterile water or saline into your bladder big, big no-no! YOUR BLADDER IS A VERY DELICATE AND SENSITIVE ORGAN can be very painful if it is irritated, or injured. When you are filling the bladder be careful not to over fill, if it is getting at all uncomfortable stop!There is no reason to risk an injury, try explaning to the doctor how you managed to cause a tear in your bladder wall.

Most of all remember this pretty much uncharted territory there is not alot of info on this kind of play so proceed with caution and common sense!!!

I have filled my bladder many times via a catheter and have always used sterile means and sterile water. It is totally amazing and I can orgasm more than I ever imagined. My clit gets so hard and I orgams just from a touch of my fingertip. I have always loved holding my urine since I was a child and as an adult can cause me to orgasm. I don't know about anyone else, but can only speak from my own experiences. I totally love it just as I love a great enema.

I don't criticize anyone for engaging in activities that I do not have any interest in, but this is one of those areas that I would never, ever participate in unless the person doing the catheterization could demonstrate perfect sterile technique for me and all the equipment was packaged as sterile. People who do intermittent catheterization for real medical reasons do not wash their catheters and re-use them. They buy them in boxes of 2-3 dozen or so and throw them out after each use.

I would say that if you engage in this type of activity be very careful and definitely make sure you use sterile technique and sterile water. Also be prepared to make an embarrassing trip to the doc to explain your raging urinary tract infection. Because it is very easy to break a sterile field. Switchablesusie and LIFetishDoc make excellent points. Your main danger in getting a urinary tract infection comes from having the bacteria from others introduced into your body. Your body has an immunity to it's own bacteria so you are less likely to get an infection if you play alone. Regardless, this is an are in which I have never played, for the reasons I have just mentioned.

Don't even re-use your own catheter unless you can autoclave it or do it in a pressure cooker..

I'm not generally argumentative, but that has got to be one of the stupidest statements I have read in a while!! Make that statement to someone who has been the recipient of an infection acquired by a breach in sterility and see how they respond!

I'll back you up 100% on that one, Redbaglover. Sterility is of prime importance.

Everyone who does cath and sound play will eventually get an infection if they do it enough times. It just comes sooner if you aren't extremely clean and careful when you do it. Look at all the women who get vaginal and urinary tract infections who DON'T do the things we do. (I'm not saying urinary tract infections don't happen in men also, but women are more susceptible to UTI's than men.) It's just the nature of the beast.

I don't know if any of you have read my other posts regarding Switchablesussie, but whatever she weighs in on, you should listen very carefully to what she says. She knows what she speaks, and I say that from long experience with her. I know her from another site, and that site is the poorer for not having her around any longer. Take her advice, and you can't go wrong!!!

I was referring to intermittent self catheterization. Copied the following from the University of Michigan web site:

Preparation and Procedure

Wash your hands.

You may sit in a comfortable position with your knees apart. If someone else is catheterizing you, it would be easier if you lie or semi-recline. You may catherize while sitting on the toilet.

Clean the meatus prior to inserting catheter.

Lubricate several inches of the tip of the catheter.

Hold your penis on both sides just behind the head.

Insert the catheter into the urethra, using a steady gentle pressure. When you have inserted the catheter about six inches, you may find it a bit harder to push. This means you have reached the sphincter muscle. Use gentle but firm pressure on the catheter until the muscle relaxes and the catheter becomes easier to advance. It will be necessary to pass the catheter another two or three inches before it enters the bladder.

Insert the catheter and wait until urine stops draining, then remove slowly, stopping anytime urine flows so as to empty the bladder completely.

Wash the catheter with soap, using soapy lather on your hands. Do not rub the catheter on bar soap, as this may be hard to remove because of the oil. Rinse the catheter with tap water, inside and out, then dry and store. This cleaning will also help with odor control.

I went to the UM website and saw exactly what you are referring to. I could not find a date on the page anywhere, but I would be willing to bet that those instructions were written several years ago at least. Anyone doing intermittent catheterization is most likely buying them in large quantities and not reusing them. LOTS of medical supplies are disposable these days whereas they weren't in the past.

Todays catheterization equipment is completly disposable (i think i would not let anything else then sterile disposable equipment near my bladder).

I have been playing with my urethra, bladder and prostate for years with no infections, just couple of “loss object” scares. Others have posted about bladder infections and how bad it is. I finally got one, yes it’s bad and no, I won’t be playing in my urethra again.

The infection did lead me to a urologist with a whole different outlook on things. It was an interesting trip though.

Long Story Short: I had a bladder infection that took two antibiotics doses to clear-up. After the second dose I had to see an Urologist to confirm it was gone and check me over. I figured as long as it had cleared up this was a no brainer visit. I was concerned he would somehow see scarring or other signs of play, but he did not question me in that regard. Good news, the infection had cleared, bad news, he still wanted to check my prostate. No formalities, just “Drop your pants to your knees”. After he confirmed my prostate size was ok, he said he wanted to check for Prostate infection and he would have to milk my prostate. This all happens so quickly there is no time to think about it. He put his finger back in me and is REALLY pressing hard on my prostate, it’s burning and hurting and the last thing on my mind was anything sexual but, you guessed it, I got a semi-erection. So he stops pressing on my prostate, grabs a slide and tries to put some fluid on it… Not a drop to be had. So now I’m standing there with a semi-erection and this guy is clinically stroking my penis and looking into the opening trying to find fluid.

He said that since he did not obtain any fluid from the milking procedure he will need to perform an xray of my urethra to look for any restrictions. I am led to the X-ray room with a (luckily) female technician. She has me lie on the table and drop my pant to my knees. She keeps me covered with a paper cover. She took one x-ray before the dye was going to be injected into my urethra. She then calls the doctor in. He puts a hole through the paper cover so my penis is sticking through it. He then sticks catheter in my penis but not all the way to my bladder. He then injects a clear fluid (dye) into the catheter until the pressure forces the dye into my bladder. He then told the Technician to take the x-ray.

I am straight, have always loved anal play (see my other posts) with objects of a lady lending a hand (literally) so I know I like to have my prostate played with, but milking is totally different and painful (at least in my case).

What did I learn from this:

1. I really don’t think an erection during a prostate milking/exam is controllable.

2. It’s a whole lot easier to have a doctor milk your prostate and stroke you clinically for a prostate sample then it is to have dye injected into your bladder.

3. You DO NOT want a bladder infection guys, its bad news. 😮

Benny, lucky guy that you have a wife who's a nurse and who enjoys cathing you--I would DIE to have that! I love being cathed and dilated, bladder irrigated and filled with sterile saline. If the nurse is urologically trained, she can scope me. Urodynamics--now THAT is fun!

I have always enjoyed urethra play, I have a set of sounds ( clutton ) variety with a bend at the end so that the tip can easily penetrate the bladder - exquisite feeling as the sound passes through the prostate and then a slight sting sometimes as it slips past the sphyncter of the bladder. It can be extremely fun if done gently and sensibly while respecting your and others boundaries.The following is a generalization based on my experiences that you may find helpful,having been a dom, you probably know some of the things below. I have done U S(urethral stimulation) on myself since my early teens,with women only after I was living on my own.

With men, it causes delightful erotic sexual stimulation, passing through the prostate is not always a must. With women, there is often a companion/similar experience, being that women and men have the same nerve endings in the genital area.

1) In all cases, for the beginner, sounds and catheters need to be slightly smaller than your urethra.

2) In all cases, sounds and catheters need to be well lubricated (with a sterile lubricant to prevent UTI,urinary tract infection and tearing of tissue) before insertion.

3) In all cases, sounds or other devices that are to be inserted and then re-used must be aseptic (cleaned and then washed with alcohol) to prevent UTI (urinary tract infection).

4) In all cases, catheters must be sterile (sealed sterile package) and then disposed of after use,to prevent UTI (urinary tract infection), period.

5) In all cases, hands & fingernails must be clean, in situations involving partners, gloves are strongly suggested to prevent UTI (urinary tract infection).

6) In all cases and circumstances be gentle, if it hurts..stop..something is not right, period.

I've used catheters and sounds with my wife during our medical role play fun. As long as the catheters are sterile and the sounds or dilators are pristine clean and warm she enjoys the feeling. I never and I mean never put passion over principal. It's great and sexy fun to be between her lovely opened legs but never at the cost of sparing any and all safety precautions. We must take the very best care of our lovers and not put them into any situation that would be potentially harming. The loss of trust and delicate clean care is not an option in any case. I had once the catheter inside because of some urinary problems. It doesn´t hurt at all, it´s just little bit uncomfortable becaus you feel the cath pushing throught you urethra. Once I get an urodynamics exam. By this exam a flexible catheter is inserted into the bladder through the urethra and the bladder is filled through this cathether, other catheter is inserted into the rectum, to measure the pressure in the abdomen.

This exam is painless but not very comfortable but I think it can be very exciting by many people.

I'd forget, after the catheter removed can you feel some burning when urinating during 4 o more hours and you can feel the need to urinate very, very frequently. The doctor can also prescribe you some medication (antibiotic) to prevent a urinary tract infection. As a medicine student I can advise you to drink more water than usual to reduce this symptoms and above all to be very careful if this takes place out of hospital or medical attendance!

My urethral lining is soooooo sensitive! The sensation of something passing down it is exquisite! .... and as it passes the prostate its heavenly! Combined with rectal prostatic massage - Wow!! I was with my husband when he was being examined in a urologist's office. They decided to do a cystogram (something that sounded like that) on him. He had to take-off his clothes from the waist down and lie back on an exam table. A young hispanic nurse (Florida)couldn't have been more than 20 years old grabbed my husband's penis and used a syringe without a needle to squirt some type of lanocaine gel into the tip. She then "massaged" it to push it as far up his urethra as she could for what seemed like much too long, but was probably only 3 or 4 minutes. I think she injected more lanocaine once, but maybe it was twice more. I think she was trying to get a reacton from me. She succeeded, but I didn't let on that I was getting upset. If it had gone on a litte longer, I think I would have said something I would probably have regretted later. It did get a half-a-reaction from my husband, which was probably what was upsetting me the most. Nursie knew exactly what she was doing and the reaction it was having on him. Maybe she was doing this as a power trip to upset me and wouldn't have done such a thorough job, if I wasn't there. Or, maybe she would have pushed him further. Don't have a sense of that either way. Finally she stopped her massage and put a clamp on it just below the head and told us the doctor would be in in about 15 minutes, after the lanocaine worked. I asked my husband what it felt like. He said it was "cold" and the gel burned just a little going in and being worked further up inside him. (Sure didn't seem to me that he was in any pain.) When the doctor came in, he inserted a fiber optic something or other WAY up, it seemed. It displayed an image on a monitor. That only took 2 - 3 minutes. Hubby said the optical thing didn't hurt until he went past the penis and was futher inside. True Story.

You are using too large a sound and it is getting stuck in the part of the penis called the navicular fossa. The navicular fossa is the part of the glans penis (corona), inside the urethra that is dilated and wider than the rest of the urethra. Use a smaller sound and you will get it in.

Using a sound that is too large will damage your urethra. You will have bleeding and the stinging pain you describe. Don't force it.

I can't tell you how it feels for a man, BUT, since we do not have a prostatic portion of the urethra, plus our urethra is much shorter than yours, I would guess it feels like it feels for you in the first few inches inches just BEFORE you get to the prostate gland. In other words, the part inside your penis doesn't count. I mean the part more inside the body before you get to the prostate gland. Also, you get a little stimulation of the glans because the urethra goes through your glans. For us, the urethra is below and not connected to our clit, so we don't get that part of the sensation.

I went to my Urologist about 2 weeks ago to have a Cystoscopy. A very young (maybe 25) nurse came into the room and asked me to lay down on the exam table and put my legs into the stirups. She then took my penis and injected a numming agent into my urethra and started working it down with her hand. I was getting an erection and my penis was swelling as she did it. She told me it was OK that all men did this. She kept doing it until I almost had an urge to ejaculate and then she stopped! After a few minutes the doctor came in and preformed the cysto. After he was finished he left the room and the young nurse came back in. She said he was finished but, she needed to clean me up. not being a female, i may be off base with this but have heard that the feeling a female experiences as the catheter enters the sphincter of the bladder is similar to what men experience during an ejaculation.
