Soapy enemas

Well, I've tried Dr. Bonner's two times, and have concluded that it's too irritating for me, and no fun. It does give a good clean-out, I suppose, but it's not pleasurable for me. The enema is not only too hard to hold, but it irritates my hemorrhoids too much.

In the future, I think I will stick with the plain water enemas I've done for years.

May I ask how much you used in what amount of water? If you put in too much that would make it unpleasant.

Enemapig, like I've stated before in earlier posts, you don't want to use much of it because it is very concentrated.

As with all enema solutions, you should start out with very small amounts of ingredients and go to higher concentrations only after you see how they feel. This could mean using extremely small amounts in your "test enemas".

It is also a good idea to start out using a pint and just hold it for a while rather than trying 3 quarts with a retention nozzle o you can expel it quickly if it doesn't agree with you. This goes double for new recipes if you are restrained during your enema.

I took a two-quart enema with two tablespoons Dr. Bonner's. It was too hard to hold and irritated me too much.

When I switched from using J&J Baby shampoo to Dr.Bronners Castile soap, I initially started out with about 1/2 tablespoons per Qt, and it felt good. I've recently bumped up the concentration to roughly 1 tablespoon/Qt, and it really is more stimulating. The key is, is to use what you you feel comfortable with. If it's not pleasurable, reduce the amount, or switch to something else that feels good and is safe. As I've said previously.....I'm into pleasure, not pain or extreme discomfort.

I have to agree that Ivory soap or Castile soaps are the only way to go. And if you use Castile soap such as Dr Bronner's, you only need to use a little bit because it is very concentrated. :-)

I've found that Neutrogena liquid soap is milder than Dr. Bronner's and does a fairly nice job. Lots of stores only carry Neutrogena bar soap and you have to guess how much to swish in your container. I found this out years ago when I would spend a lot of overnights out in the same hotel in Springfield, OH. Besides beer, TV, there's not much else to do in that town. Oh, the sacrifices I've made for the "Company," but someone HAD to call on the Docs in that town, so I made the most of it.

That sounds like too much. I use the "squirt" measure for my sub. One fair sized squirt usually does him fine. I am going to guess that at about 1 teaspoon. I'm only guessing on the amount. Try one enema with only a half a teaspoon of Dr. Bronner's. If you don't feel anything then use one teaspoon. Keep adding just a bit more each time, until you reach the desired results. Don't give up on it just yet. My sub loves the feel and many others on the site do too Good luck.

2 tbls of Dr. Bronner's is a lot, just for reference, the pre-packaged castile soap packets are about 9 mls, a tablespoon is about 15 mls, so you are using more than 3 packets of castile soap (assuming the concentrations are about the same in each). i would try 2 teaspoons of Dr. Bronner's, 'cause a lot of folks like the feel and effect of castile soap

I can tolerate about 10 minutes of 2 tablespoons of Dr. Bronner's peppermint to two quarts of water before I am moaning out loud and questioning all of my life's choices. Maybe it is time to invest in a retaining nozzle to see if I can force myself to endure it longer 🤔. I know, the obvious answer is less Dr. B, but I enjoy a little challenge 😂.

My father always said that soap is the fundamental part of a good enema and above all in a considerable quantity. So I've always gotten my weekly enema very soapy, but not so soapy as to do any harm.

My mother gave me hot soapsuds enemas made by stirring a bar of Ivory Soap in water just warm enough to sting on the inside of her wrist. She stirred it until the solution was milky coloured with a thick layer of suds on top. My grandmother used several tablespoons of green liquid medicinal soap which was much stronger and more irritating.

I tried the dr, bonners soap, and found it very harsh. Mainly used ivory flakes for many years. Now that I am 83 and can’t hold a soapy enema, when needed I use mineral oil or virgin olive oil in a 10 once bulb syringe. Just had one this afternoon for constipation given by my girlfriend.
