Who prefers suppositories to enemas ?

I like both, both have a time and place but a lot of times I start with suppositories.

I really like both! Start with a few suppositories inserted and after they have done their job a nice warm filling enema! Both giving and receiving that enjoyable treatment!

I have never had a enema. As a child mom used suppositories for Constipation I remember her taking my temperature and then having these long suppositories the size of the thermometer then later as I got older just a regular suppository any time we were sickShe would always get a prescription for suppositories as an adult I’ve had a couple suppositories for nausea and vomiting 2 for constipation after surgery The nurse came in said that she had a laxative suppository to give me help me to roll on my side and she pushed it in deep I remember her asking me if I had A suppository in the past it still took a little while to work but he got the job done

Suppositories were for medical reasons — headaches, fever, nausea when I couldn’t keep oral meds down. We never used supps for constipation. Always preferred the enema.

I enjoy both with enemas being my favorite. Wife not into them or suppositories what-so-ever! Would like to chat with others about our shared desires!

Sometimes I prefer a suppository, usually in the mornings if I didn't have a bowel movement the day before and/or woke up with a crummy feeling consipated gut. Often I am able to produce a large firm stool and relatively easy with a suppository, especially if I really needed to 'go' but couldn't. I like the feeling of a more 'natural' bowel movement too. And of course, it's quicker and easier first thing in the morning when I'm not quite awake and the coffee hasn't got anything to move either. But the majority of the time and when my constipation is being persistent, it's enemas.

I prefer suppositories!

I suppose it depends on what you want to achieve. For me, suppositories don’t work too well for constipation. A good enema helps better for that. For fever and nausea I am pro suppository. Especially nausea, works best from the other end, since you can’t throw it up again. As a kid growing up, you started getting nervous when nausea creeped up, because you knew what was coming. Only stubborn fevers were treated with bum torpedos.

Dulcolax suppositories are very effective. Although the cramps are very uncomfortable.

Suppositories are stealthy in living situations that make enemas utterly impractical. It's fun to have to act completely normal with an assload of them destroying me from within. The only time I almost got busted was at work with an extra large tampon up my ass that was making me squirm because it was dry af and not all the way in.

I am deathly allergic to bisacodyl (full body hives). I therefore regret that I will not be able to experience the effects of a bisacodyl suppository or six.

I have however enjoyed glycerine (the whole package of 25 at once because I am nothing if not adventurous), soap (nice burning and cramping that takes forever to go away -- though since reading here I can see I was overly skimpy with the type of soap and the size of the sticks), Prep H (did nothing for the assgrapes and left me feeling slightly sick, which is enjoyable in its own ways now that I know what to expect -- think I'll do the rest of the package after posting this Just Because), Anusol (post banding, slightly numbing for slight relief), and of course ginger (need more practice, it felt great but I think I haven't reached peak ginger yet).

I have done improvised enemas in the past but they were less fun than I hoped. I've also had to give myself a Fleet as part of bowel prep, interesting burn but otherwise unremarkable. If I had someone to give me a proper one with a bag, nozzle, hot soapy water (or whatever else can be added to further inconvenience me) and repeat until 3x clear, I might get to enjoy them more. I would definitely enjoy the submissive aspects of reluctance and embarassment, but am not in a position to make this a reality.

99% of my enemas are to clean the playground for some serious play with (usually) some very long toys. Only enemas can do that job. Supps can't. So, I overwhelmingly prefer enemas.

If I'm looking to cure constipation, a rare occurence, then I'll consider supps -- but primarily for the enjoyment of inserting them. Even better if I have someone there to insert them for me.

I don't hate supps, they're just generally not the right tool for the job. That said, if I have a playmate that wants to stuff me full of supps before we settle into an evening of play, I'm in. But there will still have to be a series of enemas afterwards, just to ensure that the playground is really clean. Supps will empty it, but not clean it.

I was just in the hospital for a few days . Medication and multiple bag enemas weren’t working so. It took them 2 days to manual disempact me . Doctors are considering giving me a permanent ostomy to avoid future bowel problems or the laxative go around. I’m not a fan of the ostomy idea and changing diapers /bags and CGM and insulin sensors .

On an interesting note I am allergic to statins all my doctors on multiple occasions prescribed a cholesterol lowering drug and promptly had insurance deny it, so my endocrinologist gives it the old college try and gets it approved ( I would say I’m a good candidate 4 heart attacks, 1 cardiac arrest, 1 stroke multiple stents and roto router surgeries to open my coronary arteries.) so I am now shooting up a drug called Praluent every 14 days( statins cause Rhabdomyloisis , it dissolves your muscles into your bloodstream a black goo and you die “not exactly what a guy with 2 rare muscle disease wants”.

The worst part I’m not strong enough to give it because it’s a pen needle , so my aide has to give it to me .i can apply 8 pounds of force to release the plunger which is not enough for it to fire as its spring loaded ( pushing the button launches the needle into your body, gives the shot and then entirely retracts to be thrown out . In the past I tried 4 or 5 statins all ended with me in hospital with Rhabdo.

Let’s just say I had two wonderful women fisting me overnight they were as gentle as possible ,it is not a fun procedure to give or receive and is painful and exhausting .

Call me very grateful to those ladies for doing a job I couldn’t and emptying me .

We are all set for December for upper and lower scope 3 days to prep 1 day procedure 1 day to recover from anesthesia . Also have given up on Linzess 1 bottle in 7 months ain’t worth the effort so we are moving to Amtizia give that a try.

I prefer suppositories when I’m short on time or someone else is in the house as they’re more discreet. If I have plenty of alone time, an enema all the way. I can take 2qts relatively quickly but expelling takes a while.
