E-stims aren't instant ejaculations, and in fact it takes my husband longer with any of the e-stim boxes (we have several) than a blowjob or handjob or intercourse, but it is hands-free.

Only one word can describe this system "AWESOME"

E-stim is certainly a ride. It does take a bit of experimenting to get everything right, there's no magic bullet, but man is it worth it!

There is no sure fire way to tell if you'll be able to achieve a hands free orgasm on your first try with e-stim. A lot of the experience is mental. It can be hard to cum hands free the first couple of times you use e-stim. The obvious reasons are being nervous about getting hooked up, finding the right electrode placements, concentrating on operating the equipment, trying to find what settings feel good and learning to interpret the feelings estim can create as pleasure.

It took me a while to really be able to let go and enjoy e-stim. It felt good, but it wasn't putting me over the edge. Once I found out what electrode positions felt best (conductive rubber loops around the base of my penis and another just under my glans and over my frenulum & head) I was able to focus on the settings that could make me cum. Now it's pretty simple and I can cum quickly in 2-3 minutes, or draw it out and stim for an hour or two.

Again, the mental thing plays into this as well. You might do better your first time by letting someone else be at the controls, like a doctor or nurse who "needs" to do a pleasure survey and will be using the electro stimulation machine to make you cum. It all depends on what gets you going.

If you want to get started cheaply, check out the Davey $20 estim unit thread on www.smartstim.com. Its super easy to build and will cost you around $20 in parts. Pair that with some mp3 files for stimming and you'll have enough to really give you an idea of what's possible.

It is electricity. You have to find what settings work for you. The controls are in your hands. I couldn't let anyone else do it because you have to feel it.

Could e-stim bring a woman to a climax, even if she were not aroused to begin with? Could it force her to have a climax, even if she resisted? I have never tried this, or even heard of it, until I saw it being used on the internet.

E-stimming can certainly bring women to climax, and very intense ones at that. As for forcing an orgasm....I'm not sure. I don't think that it would be likely unless a woman was at least partially aroused by the sensations that electro stim provides.

In my experience, it took a long time before I orgasmed with e-stim alone. Now its not a problem at all, but there was a large mental component to letting go & cumming. Part of that was finding exactly what settings & electrodes to use.

As another owner of the ET312B, I was wondering what setting you use for yourself and your girlfriend.

My husband likes the "intense" setting and uses output A with two adhesive electrodes on his penis, one on the underside of his glans and the other on a conductive elastic band at the base of his penis, and output B with the large bipolar anal electrode. He sets the multiadjust dial at about three o'clock.

If I use the intense setting, I use two small adhesive pads, one on each side of my clit on output A and the same anal electrode on output B. I also keep the multi-adjust dial at about three o'clock.

I also like the "climb" setting and set the multi-adjust dial where ever my mood suits me. I usually start with it far to the right so it changes quickly, then I slow it down, then up, then down to the slowest for my orgasm because the "peak intensity" of the climb program when the multi-adjust is fully counterclockwise drives me out of my mind when I cum!

On the ET-312 my favorite routine is definitely Intense. It sounds like we use it in much the same way too. I usually tweak the MA knob back and forth between 1 & 3 o'clock, that subtle change really gets me going. I also like Orgasm (when I'm patient enough), Toggle, Stroke and Rhythm2.

Rhythm2 is great because its a constant power unlike Rhythm that slowly ramps up then resets. That's a custom routine you can load on the 312 via the eroslink software. There is a custom EMS routine and Stroke2 that are pretty neat too. Do you have Eroslink?

Another thing you should absolutely be trying is the audio input of your ET-312. Using audio files opens up a whole new level of stim because you can experience very complicated and varying routines without having to fiddle with the controls. The audio file input can add endless variety and make the machine even more hands free if you want to just surrender to a stim session.

On the electrode front, I've used tens pads and they are okay. The main problem is keeping them in place on the male anatomy. They are always coming off which is annoying. I know some people use hurt free tape to secure them though. What works best for me is hollow conductive rubber tubing with 2mm lead free solder as a core. The solder helps the tubing keep a shape which is nice. I usually have two loops around the base of the shaft as one pole with a head trode. The head electrode is a ring that sits just behind the glans on the corona with a half hoop that runs over the frenulum and urethra. This is very effective for me when it comes to hands free orgasms. I haven't had the chance to try/make any bipolar insertables but thats on the list.

When it comes to female setups, the tens pad route on either side of the clit is popular. A lot of women like the bi-polar electrode called the periform for vaginal stimulation. That electrode was designed for Kegel/Pelvic Floor exercises so its a good design. The other arrangement that works great is a combination of one pole on a vaginal electrode and a DIY conductive rubber "clit clip". The clip is basically like a bobby pin covered in conductive rubber that you pull the clitoral shaft through. Other arrangements that achieve the same effect are two short tubes of conductive rubber with elastics running through them and worn like a G-string. The net result of this is that current is passed through the nerve center of the clitoris down through the g-spot & vaginal wall resulting in some intense sensations. You basically hit all the good spots with that setup.

Generally medical TENS units are not best suited to e-stim. They are akin to a toy electronic piano where as a "made for play" estim box is more like a real piano. In other words, the range of sensation that most medical tens units are capable of is severely limited. It also sounds like you may not have adequate contact with your electrodes. The pads that come with those units work great on arms, legs and shoulders, but they aren't so good at following the complex contours of the male anatomy. Getting some conductive rubber tubing and making electrodes specifically for stimming is a good idea. First you want to make sure you can get pleasurable feelings from the electrodes, then you can focus on cumming. It's awesome when you get the right feeling dialed in and you can lie back and enjoy the ride, and you or your nurse can make it continue even after your orgasm (if you can take it).
