Double balloon catheter expulsion

I had an unusual experience last nite, normal 2 1/2 qt. castile soap enema with a latex double balloon rectal catheter 250/250 balloons, after about a 5 minute retention time, i sneezed (big sneeze) and the balloon catheter expelled!! i never had this happen before, this happened to anyone else??

Yup, been there, done that. It was a cough though, never had such problems with sneezes.

PS: usually, day after, I used to get a fever and chills. Avoided that by anointing the ass hole with antibiotic salve. Didn't have that problem again.

Yes, I have had that happen. usually means I didnt inflate enough. My double Balloon has a problem because the air can pass from one balloon to the other thus allowing the inner one to shrink and the outer to expand then out it pops!My silicone doubles are better as they have separate air compartments

Yep, me too with a double 500/500. I was really enjoying being able to fully relax while the enema was flowing in. That was a great feeling, but suddenly the inner balloon popped out and I had a lot of clean up to do. Now, I keep a little squeeze on the bulb to make sure it stays where it is supposed to.

To prevent the air from leaking out of the balloons during long retentions, use a hose clamp on the tubes going to the squeeze bulbs. That will solve your problem of the balloon popping out due to its deflation.

Thanks for your always helpful comments. The inside balloon didn't deflate, it just popped out. I used the recommended 4 squeezes on the air bulb. Is it safe to pump more air into a latex balloon? Or, have I stretched my anus too much? I don't try to go too big with insertions.

I know the valves on the inflating bulbs can leak (and most do, althought not much), and i normally clamp the balloon tubes with a screw type pinch clamp, so i do not think the inner balloon deflated, i think the big sneeze generated a lot of rectal pressure to expell the balloon, and it happened. 5 pumps with the latex 250/250 is the limit i think, you are pushing your luck with more than that.

When I first started using them I had this problem once because my pump balloon let the air out really slow and I didn't realize it so it popped out and I had a Little bit of a mess 😘

I had a similar problem the first time I tried my 250/500cc balloon. The barbs on the air pumps are very short and do not hold well and can easily leak. I had about a quart and a half in and my balloon deflated. Fortunately it was the second fill after a clean-out by regular nozzle so the cleanup was all water. My fix was to use shrink tube on the hose and pump valve. The hose was held tightly to the barbs and the attachment to the valve both sealed the connection and helped hold the hose in place. Better than sharp edges and hard to clean hose clamps. Works great now!

If you took Dulcolax tablets, about 6 hours after you took them, it doesn't matter, a balloon catheter, an makes no difference, applicator, poop, water, whatever is in there, it's coming out with no warning, and no possibility of holding it in. You MIGHT hold long enough to make it a few paces to the toilet.
