Switchablesusie and Mashie:
I'm unclear where you saw a claim of hundreds of milliliters. In my article I mention 15 ml (about a tablespoon) to 125 ml (less than half a cup). This range is based on figures given in a 2002 paper published by Shannon Bell, Ph.d., York University and refers not to the amount produced by one ejaculation but, rather the amount that could be produced over a one minute period. Zaviacic[sup]1[/sup], cited in my bibliography, estimates mean volume at about 5 ml, although much higher volumes have been reported in other studies. In my personal experience I think a range of 5 - 20 ml is about right; so, I don't think there is too much of a difference of opinion between the two of you and me.
As far as "the REAL prostate" is concerned, in 2001 the FICAT (Federative International Committee on Anatomical Terminology) announced support for the term "Female Prostate" in their Journal, Histology Terminology. Additionally, according to Dorland's Medical Dictionary http://www.mercksource.com/pp/us/cns/cns_hl_dorlands_split.jsp?pg=/ppdocs/us/common/dorlands/dorland/nine/20823231.htm , the peri-urethral gland is considered analogous to the prostate in men. There is nothing disingenuous about calling the peri-urethral gland in women the female prostate.
Various studies show that anywhere from 10–69% of women report being able to ejaculate, although definitions and methods vary among these studies.[sup]1,2,3,4,5[/sup]
As I stated in my article, the subject of Female Ejaculation is controversial. I don't mean to create any rancor, particularly in as much as we don't really seem to disagree by much.
