Cardboard or Plastic Tampon Applicators

Again plastic is the only way to go. My tampons of preference are Tampax Radiant Super or Super Plus. I have also found Kotex Security Super Plus to be comfortable in my situation.

It's hard to believe that my earlier post was over 12 years ago. A lot has happened during that time including going though menopause. Even before that occurred my daughter encouraged me to try a menstrual cup. For those who remember that momentous event when we graduated from pads to tampons, this was in that same league. Comfortable, reliable, and economical. What's not to like other than it can be a little gross, but then again so can tampons.

In the time since the original post, we've also been alerted to the extreme problems with microplastics, which might change our preferences. The cardboard ones were... okay, and while we might prefer plastic, do we not also prefer a healthier planet? I'm trying to minimize use of plastics and to recycle like some zealot, as well as compost once the weather warms. (I'm not walking to the compost pile a couple times a day in the snow.) Every week my recycling bin is way bigger than my trash.
