Retention/flow

Anyone else had a problem with KY clogging the nozzle holes? Also, having a retention problem After about 1 qt. cannot hold any more GOTTA GO!! Could these problems be related?

I would doubt it. Try a smaller amount and hold it for awhile then add a little more to it. After awhile you might be able to build up to two or three quarts.

Check how high you are hanging the Bag, solution temperature and rate of solution flow as well as width of the hose.

Any one of these can cause a problem with retention or leaking.

KY Jelly, if you don't buy counterfeit, is WATER SOLUBLE and can't clog the nozzle. It is something else clogging that hose!!

I have an Higginson pump hooked into my enema hose - when I think the flow is stopped I gently squeeze the pump to "blow it out". It works.

I also intend to put into the line a "flow meter" which I have had for a long time, to let me know immediately if the flow has stopped - just one more pleasure toy.

Most lubes that are water based won't cause a problem. You do have to clean out your noz once in a while, especially if the holes are small such as a douche noz. Vaseline, while it feels nice, and is useful for repeated insertions, tends to clog the smaller holes. As mentioned above, you can give the bag a good squeeze if the flow slows. My guess is that the slow flow is more likely due to your internal pressure than plugged nozzles. But look at it this way: regardless of the flow, you are getting an enema, and what could be better than that?

I have herd of Vaseline clogging nozzles but never KY as far as the retention goes you need to listen the the ones that have commented on here before me wether the water is to cold can make a difference or you flow is to fast which will make your sigmoid contract and you have to go.

try relaxing and just let in two cups or a Little more in at a time little by little until you get two quarts in just some thoughts 😉

While Vaseline may clog some of the smaller holes on occasion, I have never had it clog all the holes to where I wasn't getting any flow. If I want more flow, I simply open the hose clamp more, or increase the height differential between me and my cannister or bag, whichever I'm using at the time. For me, I've found that Vaseline works best for repeated insertions. Just have to wash the nozzle well with detergent when finished to prevent degradation.

I think the biggest nozzle that can be inserted 3"-5" comfortably should be used to prevent this problem. I think this is why hospital enema kits are coming with larger nozzles now. It assures a good flow of solution and reduces the chance of clogging with lubricant or fecal matter.
