Basic Equipment (Toys / Med devices) for a Newbie Playdoc?

Dr fireman, you get the things that you think you would enjoy playing with. Just like when you go to the adult toy store, except all the stuff you might want is generally not in one place. Scrubs and gowns are fun, but you will probably get those mail order. You can pick up cheep steths and bp cuffs at walmart as well as thermometers. If you want a big thermometer, hit tractor supply. I get my nitril gloves at Harbor Freight. Specula and stainless stuff generally comes from eBay. If you buy from eBay watch the really inexpensive stuff as the fit and finish is not near as nice and the sizing is small. It is not like there is a standard toolbox for a play doctor. You just pick up the things that interest you.

We have the "normal" regular equipment...bp cuff, steths, specula of varying sizes, a gown, an ear nose throat looker thing (I'm honestly too lazy to Google the name but we got it at CVS), Popsicle sticks, and a few other random things (wishing we had some spare secret space in the house for an actual playroom).

But, that's not the point of this comment, I wanted to chime in with the cool thing I just found...the FSA store!!! If you've got an FSA expiring, you can buy a plethora of fun medical stuff (also, stuff that you need). Since I'm (somewhat) of a morally upstanding citizen thanks to law enforcement hubby, I only got things that we could use for play AND in daily life. Here's what we just ordered (and got 2 days later) from the FSA store:

Finger cots - non medfet use of using them when cooking with a cut finger.

Underpads - these actually work great to keep under sheets for our pukey kids, also puppy pee pads

Enema douche hot water bottle combo - hello, cramps!

Female and male urinals - my husband doesn't like to stop on road trips...that's actually stretching it but these were so fun looking to me!

Surgical lubricant - perfect for vanilla sex (because sexual health products are covered under your FSA. Condoms too!)

There are tons of other things on there too, so it's worth checking out. I was surprised to find so many things I could buy with the FSA!

Obviously, not everyone is going to be into these things but I thought it would be worth a mention because FSAs are your money, better to spend them how you want!
