To the OP and to everyone else who has experienced similar issues, you are definitely not the only ones. I am a big fan of intense, large, hot and pretty soapy enemas, and my favorite soap is indeed the Dr Bronner’s peppermint goodness. Because of my number of GI problems, enemas are not only a gloriously sensual to be intimate with my partner, but they are a medical necessity (my doctor is aware of my enema use and, on multiple occasions, he’s told me how much safer and overall enemas are better for my bratty and untamable lower GI tract compared to just about anything else, which makes me feel like even the rougher experiences have an ultimately salubrious effect and are worth the discomfort).
I love my enemas to be crampy and hard to hold and my colon is so “lazy“ (I have gastroparesis and IBS-C, among other things) that enemas which don’t contain strong stimulants, or not enough of them, will just linger inside me, causing a great deal of discomfort and even pain. It’s gotten worse with time and the last year or two have been particularly challenging as far as the gastroparesis goes but I have adopted the approach of making lemonade out of some pretty nasty lemons: that has lead to many series of 3-4 quart bags full of extra minty solutions that are very appealing at first, and simply phenomenal when given by my partner, but accompanied in either case by profuse sweating, occasional dizziness and nausea, and cramps that are so strong that they almost take my breath away. The temperature of the solution does not seem to make much of a difference and, if anything, a very warm enema helps me get better results in terms of thoroughness of cleaning me out and relaxing my colon which, in turn, allows me to take progressively larger amounts of solution with each consecutive “filling“. I’m very sensitive to the cold and I need to be in a pretty warm environment to relax my bowels and give myself or be given by my partner the type of enemas I want and need. In the summer in particular or even during a tough session I will be drenched in sweat and moaning loudly as a way to release the tension and cope with the pain in a more effective way, and derive more pleasure from the whole process. I’m also fairly tired after a few quarts and the necessary rinses and feel both better and wiped out. Balancing the solution with the appropriate amount of salt and hydrating (Gatorade zero is perfect for this) throughout the session helps a lot but I don’t think I can avoid the not so pleasant side effects that what an enema that does its job brings along.
Play safe,
B x
