Movie and TV references to Enemas

But there are movies showing enema equipment, as part of the background or sometimes the foreground; no special enema interest but...

Watch the mid 70's disco musical "Car Wash" : apart from a good sound and a very good chart position at that time, you will see a young lady entering toilets and get her equipment out of her hand bag, hanging it, and you have to guess what she does next, until you see her again "after", with the empty bag, tube and tip hanging over the toilet. No enema action but it was a surprise to discover these images in an "all audiences" movie; was it as common as this in the mid 70's ? Just can't remember;

Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles or The Breakfast Club, I don't recall which Molly Ringwald movie. Her grandparents have a bag that you see being unpacked from their suitcase when they come to visit.

The Right Stuff shows three prospective astronauts holding their stoppered rectal balloon catheters (still up their butts--no you don't see their butts) as they have grimaces on their faces and they discuss "holding it" while wearing hospital gowns going up on an elevator in the hospital during their physical astronaut testing.

The Devils shows an enema scene where (I think) supposed witches are being enemaed using large metal enema syringes. You don't see the nozzle in their butts either, but you know that's what is happening.

Please Don't Eat the Daisies shows the children with an enema bag.

One of the nastiest scenes in which a young girl is disciplined by her mother via forced enemas is seen in 'SYBIL', starring Sally Field.

There is a scene in the foreign movie, 'LEOLO' of a son being chased by his father, who is holding a bulb syringe behind his back. The boy obviously is aware of the routine.

The french film, 'DIARY OF A CHAMBERMAID' shows the mistress of the house preparing a douche using an old enamel can hanging on the wall, equipped with the typical European style black nozzle. It stars Jeanne Moreau.

There is a brief scene in 'MIDNIGHT COWBOY' when John Voit as a boy is given an enema by his grandmother. I wonder if it was for punishment since Grandma was brandishing the larger douche nozzle.

There are hundreds of films about enemas and douching in the adult film trade of which

There is an old Jack Nickelson movie that has many scenes that show an enema bag hanging in the bathroom, I can't remember the name of it, but he was very young.

Only saw this one once, and over twenty years ago; can't remember the title.

It's a military comedy, set in the current time, involving the (presumably) peacetime Navy in the Pacific.

The one star I recall is Doug McClure, from the original (c1960) "The Unfogiven" and the TV series "The Virginian".

In one scene, a superior officer is searching for McClure in a hospital. McClure poses as an MD, and convinces a buxom red-headed nurse that his adversary is delusional and needs a fast prep for short-notice surgery.

I recorded it once(15 years ago) off the FOX channel, but recorded over it years later. I have not seen it since and it cannot be found on VHS or DVD.

I believe the Molly Ringwald movie you are remembering is "Sixteen Candles" in which the family forgets her 16th birthday because they are completely preoccupied with the wedding of her older sister. The grandmother holds up the red hot water bottle to show grandpa that she remembered to pack it. Later, her younger brother complains to someone that grandpa had tied up the bathroom for an hour and it smelled really bad after he was done using it. It is one of our favorite movies, not just because of the enema inference.

Reading the replies here, I find that I had forgotten how many enema references appear in movies. But, unfortunately, there is almost nothing explicit. All kinds of weird sexual stuff can be found, but explicit enema visuals are no no. Go figure.

I don't know if this counts (since you are all mentioning mainstream movies), but in the adult film, "The Ulimate Guide to Anal Sex", one of the actresses receives an enema as a preliminary to her on-screen session of anal sex. I remember being excited in anticipation, but it seemed rather clinical. It's not a movie, but of course an enema was involved in the "Seinfeld" episode called "The Pilot" (in which the "Jerry" show is filmed). You're probably familiar with it. Kramer goes to the audition and gets a sudden urge to crap but the bathrooms are all full and he has to run home but he ends up "missing his chance" and can't get it back. He tries several methods to unclog himself and Jerry suggests "the dreaded apparatus" and Kramer complains that he's not doing any "inserting in that area". But finally he goes to a store and gets a bag and we see him opening the box as well as holding it up with the tube in at home before going in to do the enema. Later on he shows up dancing gaily to the other three and George says he must have gone for "the big E" to which Kramer replies "wet and wild". Elaine goes "Ooooohh!" at this. Of course it would have been more "interesting" but less funny if Elaine had gotten the enema!

Of course ther's the pretty famous US Navy training film from WWII era or perhaps a bit after that gives instruction to medical corps people on how to give an enema. It is quite graphic and shows clearly insertion of the colon tube up the receivers butt.

A scene I remember is in Armageddon where their being screened. Rockhound, and a couple other guys were walking around with IV stands which held enema bags. Hello, I probably have "Pretty Peaches", plus dozens & dozens of others amassed over decades. The 1st would be VHS, have a Go Video dual VHS copier still in box from Ebay, am retired but fairly busy. Anyone have any earlier clinical & related films? 8mm, 16mm, VHS, DVD, etc. Have the Navy Enema Film, 1944 from Lady Dealer in England, she viewed it once, said it was interesting. Now its all over the place??? I have some Home & Basic Nursing 16mm have yet to see. Hope they aren't just bandaging!!!
