I have been into high colonics or colonic irrigation or colon hydrotherapy, whatever you want to call it for most of my adult life. The closed system is best. The therapist I go to has me lay down on the padded table, rest my head on the firm pillow, with my left side down, then she holds the stainless steel nozzle in her hand for a minute to warm it up a little, lubricates and then inserts the nozzle, attaches the drain line (with the clear plastic tube in the middle), and commences the flow. In and out, in and out, in and out, in and out, until the discharge is clear. Oh what some of the junk that comes out of me looks like - yuck! She varies the temperature of the water by a few degrees from time to time, for different results I guess. About half way through the hour long session, she has me roll over onto my back and she massages my abdomen for several minutes while the water is on an in cycle, then has me roll back onto my left side down for the drain cycle. This repeats a couple of times followed by the rest of the clean-out. At the end, she says that she is going to fill me up, and to hold it for as long as possible before getting up and expelling on the toilet, so this is where I get topped off, some great tummy bulge, I take over a gallon, she removes the nozzle, and I hold it for what seems like forever (in actuality though, just a few minutes), then I get up and go to the toilet and allow myself to drain completely with my feet up on this step thing in front of the toilet bowl. Across from the toilet is a shower, so I clean up and get ready to leave. On the way out, she gives me a small packet with some dietary supplements (acidophilus and I am not sure what else) to replenish what was washed away during the colonic clean-out.
There is nothing erotic or sexual about the whole procedure. My therapist has seen me with an erection many times during the years I have been going there, and nothing has ever been said regarding this. She and I discuss many things during my sessions (sports, the weather, politics, whatever was in the news last night, etc.), it helps pass the time. She is a professional through and through, all clinical, all the time! She knows that I give myself enemas very frequently, and we have discussed this over and over. She has repeatedly told me that a good colonic is much more effective at removing toxins and built-up "stuff" than an enema alone because it goes deeper into the intestinal tract and flushes more fluid than a typical enema ever could. I don't care what the cost, I keep going back. Besides, a tax prep expert told me that the expense is considered a medical procedure so it is a deductible expense just like a physician or dentist co-pay. By the way, I go and have my colonic cleanout done four times a year.
