My original experience with catheterization happened during a hospital stay, when I was 19. (I had heard [from girlfriends] about catheter experiences and most of it was not so good.) Then, when a nurse said that the Dr. wanted me catheterized, I went on full alert. They didn't do it in while I was in bed. They put me in a wheelchair and took me to a treatment room, where they put me up on a gyno table with really wide stirrups. I thought that this was kind of odd. "Part your thighs as wide as you can," the nurse said. "I need really good access to your open vulva. And pull your gown up to your waist." I was still on Zithromax, Demerol and Ativan, so I was kind of 'out of it' and willingly did as she asked. I also remember thinking 'w.t.f.?'... I felt her parting me really wide (with her fingers, I guess) and wiping me with something cool and wet. "Okay, here comes the catheter. Brace yourself," she said. I felt something touching my peehole and it moved around a little. Then, she started pushing it into me and... OMG!... I felt a strong hurting/burning sensation, as she pushed it deeper. It wasn't excruciating but it sure didn't feel good, either. It felt like it was squirming around in my urethra. "Going in," she said, as the tip of the catheter pushed through my bladder muscle... and I actually 'jumped' a little. HOLY SH*T!!! It felt like I had to pee a gallon! "It's in," the nurse said. "You're urinating." That wasn't much consolation, considering that it still felt like someone had pushed a fire hose up my urethra. She helped me off the table and back into the wheelchair and hung the 2000cc urine collection bag on the side of it.
Back in my room, I slowly climbed onto my bed, while she hung the bag low on the side of the bed. A few minutes later, another nurse came in with my pain shot (in my hip, of course) and I was out. When I awoke, the catheter was still in me and the collection bag was about 2/3 full. The catheter wasn't nearly as irritating - just a constant feeling of needing to pee - and I discovered something else: the catheter made me feel slightly 'horny', which I thought was weird, considering that I was still recovering from surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. They left the catheter in me for almost 3 days. By that time, I had gotten used to it.
When they took it out (up on the same table), it hurt a little, because of the slightly swollen deflated balloon, but it wasn't that bad. After it was out, I kind of missed it. Back to having to peeing like normal, although the first couple of times burned a little. After that, it was okay.
Fast forward to a few years later, when I met my present play doc. (He's on this site and he is really good.) During our third play session, he mentioned catheterizing me and I instantly balked. I told of my hospital experience and he laughed softly. "Rennie." he said, "it shouldn't have been that traumatic for you. I can do it better than that." For some reason, I trusted him and I allowed him to catheterize me. I am glad, now, that I did. The experience was much better than at the hospital. Near the end of the session, he put me back up on his table, with my feet in the stirrups and my knees widely parted, and he used his fingers to stroke my clitoris and bring me to an orgasm, with the catheter still in my urethra. Coming - with a catheter still in me - was mind-blowing. I came so hard that it almost hurt... almost but not quite. This experience completely changed my mind about catheterization and allowing my play doc to experiment with/on me. Well, that's my experience. Has anyone else had anything similar?
