Colon Tubes: Homemade

LOL. Just a question Johnny. It sounds good to me. I'm not squeamish, and don't get sick, or very rarly.

I do have the 'Delrin' cap that came with my other tube, so I may just use that if it fits well.

I have always had trouble getting a CT in smoothly and without discomfort, which caused me to give it up.

You'd be better served with a section of silicone tubing (available from McMaster) they sell a stiffer 70 durometer version of 1/2" od x 1/4" id tubing that's ideal and will work beautifully with those delrin caps that you can always modify for slightly smaller tube. This size tubing has an ideal ratio of wall thickness overall diameter... and is manageable for most users.

Tandy leather shops sell a nice oblong punch that cuts a perfect eye in those tubes, FYI...

There are a lot of material choices out there these days... choose the ideal stuff and be smart about it.

I recently made my own colon tube, basically I took some surgical tubing I plugged the end and cut slits in the sides. The tube is approximately a foot long and I've been able to use the whole thing. really a different feeling. anybody else have similar things?

Technically, a tube a foot long would be a rectal tube.

You need a couple or a few feet for it to be a colon tube. 😁 😁 😁

I made a very simple device. i sink one end of plastic tubing in a bucket which is on a stool. the other end attaches to a urinary catheter(which i am using as an rectal cath). then i siphon water into the rectum. actually garlic juice. this is a variation of the colema which is explained in a book by dr bernard jensen. i am new to this forum and i dont even know how to get back to this part of the forum. i seem to find it only by googling "homemade devices for colon cleansing". i need instruction.

The best trick I have heard of is to take a piece of latex surgical tubing turn about 3/4" back into the inside. It is a bit tricky to do, but if done right makes a nice smooth open end colon tube. Be careful and play safe!

Any top tips on how to achieve this folks as I am having a really hard time getting the tube turned inside itself?

I have seen a number of tips to use the handle of a spoon but none of mine fit! The tube is 10mm OD but perhaps the walls are too thick?

Can't think how to achieve it and I am sooo close but then it pops open again

It takes determination and a bit of strength and an instrument, which can be as inelegant as a small screwdriver, to help roll in the end of the tube as you push it in on itself.

It also helps to use (believe it or not) some alcohol as a lubricant. It will help the tubing slide, and when it dries, it's gone.

It's definitely easier with 1/2" ID than thinner tubes.

3/8" or 10mm are also possible but can be hard to do.

Thinner walls and more flexible tubing also make it easier.

Half inch OD is a good beginners tube as long as the inserted end is rounded smooth.

No one says you have to insert it three feet. Several inches is fine.
