Have you seen your own cervix?

How many were asked if they wanted to see their cervix during an exam and handed a mirror to see your cervix? Did you see it? Did you ever try to see it again on your own at home? What did you think of the cervix once you saw it?

My Doctor, when I was pregnant, routinely offered me the chance to see what was going on in there using a couple of mirrors. I blushed the first time but quickly learned to appreciate the chance.

In real time I was never given the chance.

If they would do I probably would blush but take the possibility.

Yes I have seen my cervix on two occations. My husband has also seen it. That was the only time he came in the exam room with me. I asked my gyne if he would show my husband, and he sure did.

I have...I had my first gyno exam at age 19 and my nurse practitioner insisted that I see my own cervix. At the time I think it may have been more than I wanted to see but looking back, I can see that she was correct in saying that women should know their own bodies. That being said, I haven't had any interest in seeing it again.

The gyne I go to most of the time asked me on my third pelvic if I would like to see inside. I said yes right away and he held a miror so I could see in my vagina. He pointed out my cervix and I even got a bit of a look at it wile he did my pap. None of the other doctors I've been examined by offered to let me look inside.

I've been examined by several doctors during my lifetime, but none has ever offered to let me see my own cervix.

My wife had been given the opportunity to see her cervix three times. Each of the doctors in her gyno group have shown that to her. She has had nine exams so far and only those three doctors have asked her. All six doctors in the group are male and she has been examined by each of them. She did say it was kind of embarrassing to have them point out things inside her like that

In all my gynecological examinations, I have never been given the opportunity to see inside me. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask some, but would be afraid the doctor might think I was weird or something.

No doctor ever asked if I wanted to see my cervix. I grew up ashamed of my body. I was never curious enough to want to look. I regret not seeing it before it was removed. Now I see plenty of others on the internet.

I examine my wife each month for a genuine reason and during the speculum examination she has used a mirror to view her cervix. She has also seen photos that I have taken of it.

You are right, it is not usual to show a patient the inside of her intimacy.

I have but not during an exam. No doctor ever offered so I looked myself. After one exam, I “found” a plastic speculum in the exam room changing area. There was a whole box. It was already open 😇…
