General Idiocy

Hello, I have been a long-time viewer but don't always feel the need to contribute to the forum. I feel the forum has a lot to offer and some good discussion going on. That said, it seems that people are quite happy to post poorly constructed one-line posts which make absolutely no sense just to get access to the online galleries. This begs the question; is there content on these galleries which justify their exclusivity?

I appreciate that as site-moderators you would like to keep a tab on bandwidth and only allow those who have a realistic chance of contributing to use it. But I honestly think that this could be at the detriment to those who want to explore new forums but simply see absolute rubbish and 'me too' type posts from those desperate to get access to the images. They're not likely to achieve it in one 'sitting' but will still post a load of junk and then come back to the site in a few months time, sign up again and do the same again! For example I am looking at the absolute non-sense just posted by user 'diaperslover101'. English may not be his/her strong point but is it not quite clear that their posts will do little to start an interesting thread and therefore should just be archived away?

This brings on the subject of moderation... Does it happen? I don't think have ever seen a thread locked or deleted or indeed replied to with any input. I don't mean to sound overly critical or wishing to encourage neo-nazi moderation but was just wondering what can be done to moderate nonsense and also child-like postings (possibly from children/younger teens) that make this board unattractive to some?

If anyone has any thoughts on this, please post.

To put it short; my opinion about short nonsense messages which are most likely posted just to gain balance are annoying. Just to let you know I’m not ignorant about this phenomenon. At some point there will be a big cleaning of such messages.

We may argue if the current policy to access image content is good or not and whether it’s the primary cause of the nonsense messages. The fact is that without that policy this web site (Zity.Biz) would not have become this big discussion forum and this was never meant to be primarily a image sharing center.

Hey again, guess this forum was a more appropriate one for discussion.

A mixed bunch of responses, which to me suggests there is some interest in what I'm saying. Perhaps the first replier didn't read my message correctly so I'll skip that, also Washington DC is not applicable to me as a non-American.

I'll agree that the site does well but then maybe not so well as say ABKingdom for example (I know it's French). Agreed, it's longer in establishment and perhaps the owners have more facility to back the presumably huge bandwidth cost. The point is that they seem to have a hell of a lot of discussion there on all sorts of issues (even if it is in French), there isn't a massive amount of 'me to' going on. My real point is that those who maybe do have something useful to contribute (females or couples maybe) may skip over this site when they see posts such as those I've already mentioned.

I also agree that a open picture site will never really work and will just become the same old diapergal photos and pictures of male diaper close-ups that other sites have. These photos have their place but I think it takes a few amateurs to post their unseen photos to really get the ball rolling (I believe this was the case with the ABDLForums before it died). It's also keeping a balance because I think sites such as ABY.com, while they do have female postings are generally viewed as 'gay male sites' because of the large amount of male posts and the lack of easy split.

I apologise to those who will only read the first and last sentence of my posting and form an ill-conceived opinion from that but I certainly don't expect everyone to be able to contribute in a meaningful way! I also realise that education level (general education, IT skills, English language skills) amongst some posters may make it difficult to always get involved.

I don't mean to go on, but with the ABDL online community beginning to get a bit stale, I for one would like something interesting to fill my 'diaper time', not just porn all the time!

I for one agree, there are too many "me too" type posts. I for one rarely do such short post although i am guilty myslef of having some quick posts, although i am also guilty of typing posts that you wonder,"how long is this". When i joined the site i saw you needed X amount of posts to see everything and i was thinking about 2 to 4 word posts just to get it, and i think a couple of them were real short, but a few of my first posts were decent length and actually had a point to the post. I may not post daily or even weekly, but i post if i feel i have something to add to the topic. There have been times i post to many topics in one day, or time where i dont post for weeks. But again i feel there should be some kind of system in place where any post under so many lines does not count towards the X amount of posts to access everything here. I mean look how long this post is and i have basically said "short post bad" it isnt hard to fill in space to truely add to a topic. well thats my rant on this.

I concur, I concur!-however, I believe that your (lilaaronuk) view is somewhat more optimistic than mine. I would elaborate on that but it would likely be perceived as petty, bullying and perhaps mean-spirited all around (and it likely may be to some degree).

I never considered the angle that you have suggested as being the reason for such lowbrow content, and while it seems like a potentially plausible explanation there are other sites that operate slightly different content-wise and yet suffer the same syndrome in the forums.

A prime example is DailyDiapers.com. They have a huge archive of photos as well as new ones being listed fairly often. There are no requirements to post or contribute a thing to harvest these goodies; and yet, the forums are inundated with the same exact drivel as you will discover in almost every other forum no matter the design.

I'm not terribly familiar with the site that you mentioned, and I don't claim to have experience with every site offered. I do believe however that I have located and have 'test driven' most of the popular sites. What I have discovered is simply this, like mentioned above with DailyDiapers.com, no matter how the rules are designed, the forums are always filled with the same content. You could be a member of five different sites and never hear anything new.

Here are some theories of mine as to why this is: For the most part, with the exception of a few actual new members from time to time (as opposed to duel profile identities) it is the same lot of folks filling every forum membership on each of these sites. With the same people, you suffer a quick stagnation of interesting topics and the forums turn quickly to bland, repetitious fluff. There is nothing new to cover, and as the fantasy life of diapers holds strongly onto each person, the want to converse about things past a certain depth are unlikely as delving too deeply can take one out of that moment, i.e., it is almost purely masturbatory in appearance. With most people approaching it in this mindset, as well as the situation of stagnation mentioned before, you'll find mostly just short, empty snippets of exchange that one can use to reassure their fantasy. Hell, mention the word paraphilia and some people get downright snitty as it threatens to usurp this realm of fantasy.

But this is simply my assessment, and as we all should know that trying to assess anything about the motives and whatnot of others while on the internet, a vast and still untamed landscape, we are merely making educated guesses at best.

It seems to me, it's like everything else in life. There is always a good and bad side to things. You just can't get away from that. These short posters, who obviously just want to build themselves up to gain access, are a pain in the ass. It sometimes bugs me more then others, but again it's part of how things have to work, you have to think in terms of balance. Yes, this person is bugging me with his two word posts, but I'll try and get passed it. Sooner or later they'll be gone and on there way. If that's how, and who you want to be, someone who thinks they are getting over, so be it. On the other hand, I will try and discourage this type of behavior to a certain extent. Something akin to shoeing a fly away. Maybe it will discourage them away, and maybe it won't, but I don't want to expend my energies and go to battle with every one of them that come down the pike. I rather just show my distast and move on.

I even sometimes get a kick out of seeing these types of posts.

There is also one other point I want to touch on. There are some people out there who are just very shy individuals, and they may be sincere people, but just can't bring themselves to make more them a few sorted quick posts, and the "me too's" There just can't always be hard fast rules, I wouldn't like that either. So, you just have to take the good with the bad. And take away what you will from a situation.

I'm quite amazed. With one notable exception, a collection of well written, intelligent messages discussing a topic. Have not seen such behavior on an AB/DL site for quite awhile.

I too am often surprised by the idiocy that passes for a post. I was marveling at diaperslover101 yesterday, but I confess that I totally did not get that the point was "I want access to the gallery!"

I agree the gallery is no great shakes. But I am heavily biased towards amateur/real, and am turned off by the product from "doing it for the money" photo shoots.

I hang around here hoping the conversation rises above the 101 level, but am generally disappointed. Nice change, and nice to hear from all of you!

I am not the oldest member of this forum, having only joined a few months ago, however I can totally and completely agree that the babble of short posts such as the coveted "me too" and "yeah" are annoying attempts to gain access to the gallery and other "restricted" (for lack of a better word) areas.

Once again, like most people here, I'm probably guilty of a short post or two on any number of forums (not all AB/DL forums) that I have a membership on, but here it is clear what is going on.

I am also going to say, that when I first joined, it was mostly for the pictures... I'm not going to lie, I found this site while cruisin' yahoo's search engine for pics of AB/DL. It was, after I started talking to people here, that I started coming here not for the pictures, but for the good company. Yes, I looked at the pictures once or twice when I was first allowed, but I haven't looked at them since.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I completely agree that these posts are annoying and out of place, and that I don't understand why someone would go to all the trouble to post so many small posts for a few less-than-appealing-when-there-is-this-good-of-company-around pictures.

I think purely based on the amount and quality of responses I can take a step back and say "there is intelligent life out there"! Seriously though, there are obviously some keen people on this board that understand the problem and would be looking to resolve it. I suggest that we do all we can to encourage decent quality posting and start discussions where possible.

Keep things rolling is all I'm saying! Then maybe the moderation team can think of appropriate ways to dispense with the absolute dribble that appears here.

I must confess that I have posted short answers on different topics but it is only besause I've answered the topics before and I don't want to repeat myself. If you look at some of the earlies topics in the different catagories you see that I have not only answered topic in really long answers,but I have posted topics of my own that I rarely see showing up on the newer postings.

I I do not know about you, but I feel that the FORUM section on this site is much better then the pictures anyway.

Just for clarification – I understood that the critic was specifically about the posts made without any real message or contribution of any kind and sent more like a "robot" does. Short posts sent sometimes are natural and fine.

Well it seems we do have club members who do watch others and their posts!!! But do you report them when you find them or do you just ignore what they say?

I for one always report abuse i see or inapropiate behaivor, so much so that the moderator probably gets sick of me telling him LOL!!! However the points for short posts will never get you in the picture area fast anyway no matter how many times you post . If they are three and four words replys it will take a good month of typin heavily to gain acess!!!

So lets us all keep a eye out for these idiots and report them when found of abuse or replying some inapropiate crap and we will not have to deal with these idiots on here anymore.

I do have some short answers , but only when i dont have to much say too say about the topic. Wich by the way as many of you who know me know i am never to short winded about stuff LMAO!!!!

I have seen and understand what everyone is talking about. I have made short posts before, maybe not so much in the "me too" fashion but I don't see any reason to overly post on something that I agree with or write a book to an introduction.

I tend to take each thread and each post for what it is worth and move on. If I see nothing interesting in a topic I don't get bent out of shape over the content (or lack of) I just remember not to go back to it as it was pretty meaningless.

I also don't care or make it my business if someone is just posting to gain access to the gallery. If that is their purpose it is fine with me. My life is going to be far to short even if I live until I'm 90 to worry and be bitter about what others do. I know why I am here, I know what I am looking for and I know what I will and won't read or respond to.

Each and every day of our lives we interact or see someone that is fairly annoying. If we take the time (every time) out of our day to notify each and every one of them how annoying they are it only empowers them to repeat the process. If we take it with a grain of salt and move on, more than likely they will too.

Basically, don't give them the time of day and they will know it is time to go because they are not getting the attention they are so starving for.

That is my $.02. You may not like it but it is going in the kitty anyways.

I think perhaps another problem that occurs here (and other places), past everything else, is that those individuals who may have considerably more to offer usually won't bother. The reason being, as I myself have discovered, is that within this climate of gibberish there seems no room or desire to discuss anything beyond its redundant simplicity, "I like diapers," "Me too, I like diapers a lot,"... At what point would someone with something more to say feel the relevance of attempting to integrate into these discussions? The result, much like the reluctant female members, those who may have something worth stating hold back, shaking their heads in disgust, because, "What's the point?"

I have on many an occasion posted something I felt was more than a one liner on several different topics over time. To these I've received almost no responses, but simply an overlook to avoid the material that I laid out. There was even an instance where one individual resorted to an attack because that individual was incapable of deciphering, apparently, the neutral content that I had thrown into the mix. The lesson learned here is that if you are capable of wielding a vocabulary, as well as delving into concepts that are inconsistent with 'lol-speak' you are likely to either be ignored or perceived incorrectly by timid primates who haven't a clue what you are saying.

As stated before, congruent with this post, if you suggest to compromise someones masturbatory material they will become unhappy. As it seems that most of those individuals posting are seeking something that serves a quick fix, attempts to integrate into that are unlikely. As well, initiating a post in the hopes that someone like-minded will find and join in get lost in the flood. It's a hard game to play, but I suppose that it's one that we had better learn to work within the confines of as this affliction lends very little evidence to ever letting go. That, and I doubt that an 'elitist club' for this variety will ever appear. I'm open to ideas, however, and I agree with (to degrees) everything that you have thus far brought up.

The original post brought up the question "Does the requirement for posting to see the gallery create idiotic post?" A simple answer is yes, but idiotic post exist on every forum that I've seen.

I find it interesting, because this is definately the best diaper forum I've seen in recent memory (Daily Diapers forum is good, but this has better discussions). I'm not a daily contributer, but I do add when I feel the need. And it was the post requirement that got me started. Ironically, once I qualified the gallery didn't do much for me and I rarely go there, but the forum is excellent and I check it out daily.

I think it is a big reason that this forum works, and those idiotic post are easy to ignore.

It may be even more important to note that General idiocy was only colonel idiocy before his big promotion. He got that promotion and the perks of going to the big picture show at the gallery. Maybe now he can settle down and add to the forum. If he loves diapers, he's ok by me. 😃

Wow, will you look at that, not one "me too" in the whole thread! This of course is the answer, the less than gifted intellectuals of this forum will not read past the first platitude, and therefore go on to something more suited to their needs. It is only a matter of starting an intelligent discussion, and those able to understand it are sure to respond. I too search for subjects that I can get something out of. I do admit that this is a sexual fantasy for me, but I'd like to explore the why of it, not the how to, I already know how

I think all of us have some short posts, most people on this thread are doing their average posting legnth though: long, well thought out posts. I was slightly angered though by the original post in saying that there was lack of moderation. Until recently there was one person looking over I think about 10 different sites. This entails making all the improvements that you see, responding to member problems, responding to any complaints or reported posts. It's hectic and just like a member might miss a good (or bad) post, he can miss it the same. That's why the report button is vital. If you don't inform the moderation team of something then they likely cannot find it. So I guess the message is that instead of complaining about nonsense posts, hit the little red button and get rid of them. Sorry about the rant, but the webmaster does a phenomanal job and I don't think that missing a few posts should be criticized.

You're absolutely right, lilaaronuk. It does seem like there are quite a few postings by authors who are either underage or attempting to simply gain access to the photo gallery. I think that it's also a good point that the photos are, for the most part, not original and hence shouldn't need to have such restricted access.

It's just what I have written on my Diaperspace profile:

I'm here for genuine human interaction. I'm not here to collect friends and pictures. There are 200 billion diaper pics on the Internet, I don't need to fish for them here.

We know, if someone wants pics badly enough, they'll get it anyway they know how, and that includes bypassing the points system. The thing is, if a person wanted diaper pics that badly, there are tons of image sharing websites with thousands of pics. Finding them that way is a lot easier than posting junk and gaining access by pissing off a whole lot of people.

I close with this message: If you want a tight-knit community full of genuine people and some good conversation, make yourself at home here. But if you want pics, go to Imagefap or something. Don't clutter our forum with irrelevant, useless responses that offer no input.
