Be careful what you insert into your penis

People into urinary catheters and other things need to be very careful when inserting items into their penis. I had a urologist use sounds on me and after a couple treatments. I developed scar tissue in the urethra which over a period of time messed up my bladder so that now I have to self-cath 12 or more times a day to drain my bladder.

I like "one eyed snake".

I admit to enjoying things in my urethra. I use catheters, sounds, and have a few styles of e-stim electrodes that go in my urethra. My catheters are the only thing that go in my bladder but my sounds and electrodes have been in well past my prostate. I don't have an autoclave but everything is washed with Betadine and very hot water before and after, including the "eye of the snake". I also pour alcohol down the catheter tube. Those of you who are in to e-stim know the incredible, powerful orgasms e-stimming can produce, all without ever touching the "snake".

Catheter play gives some of the same sensations as enema play. The penetration, emptying and cleansing just come from the other excretion orifice. Sounding is also all about penetration. I make my own sounds from 316 Stainless steel rod. The end is formed like a bullet and everthing is polished to a mirror finish. Just like plugs and nozzles, bigger is better to a certain degree. I'm up to 3/8" diameter, that's between a 28 and 30 fr. I don't get that aggressive with catheters, a 20fr is plenty big enough to feel all the pleasurable sensations.

I only use Surgilube and put a small amount in a clean shot glass beforehand so I don't chance contaminating the whole tube. I also keep a second shotglass with a little water in it to revive the Surgilube because it tends to dry out and get sticky if you are playing long enough. E-stim sessions can take some time because you can stay right at the edge by controlling the power. When I finally do orgasm I'm totally drained and I sometimes will lay there for several minutes at low power and enjoy the afterglow.

I've never had any medical problems related to urethral play and I'd love to hear more about Corky's problem and what started it all.

I must admit that I enjoy catheter play, mainly when I am getting a long deep colon cleanse, it helps to keep that full bladder feeling away.

I enjoy the use of catheters and sounds too. Although it's not something I care to indulge in alone or for it's own sake. I've never done either without the ministrations of a lovely female partner.

We've almost always used foleys for cathetering and never had any problem with infection or injury. Same with sounds. I think when you start putting things into those parts of your bodies...penis or anus...you don't want to take even the slightest of chances by forcing things or doing anything experimental.

The set of sounds I have (Hagar) has 16 different sizes and I don't think I've ever gone past the 2nd thickest sound. Its the same with enemas. Why force the pleasure by trying to retain a 4qt enema, or take a 36fr sound when doing so means taking a risk that you might not be able to undo.

The SurgiLube with a little bit of water sounds like a great piece of advice. We wouldn't use anything else for urethral play, but do find it gets a bit sticky after a while. Thanks for the tip.

My guess is that the infection was caused by the tube not being clean, especially the inside. You probably would have got the infection even without putting the other end in your butt. Any one experienced in urethral play knows the importance of cleanliness. UTIs are no joke.

I'll give you 50 to 1 odds the infection was caused by back-flow from rectum to bladder. While the lumen of the tube might have not been clean, back-flow is much more likely.

I'll second that. No one should be putting anything into their urinary tract, regardless of how intense it might feel for them. We have a hard enough time as is keeping down infections in the hospital caused by catheters. Anyway, I don't see what people get in all of this. No matter how gentle you are at inserting a urinary catheter, it still hurts alot for the patient. It is the one procedure I really do hate to perform because its so unpleasant, especially for the guys. So I know those instruments people are using to get their kicks can't be any better.

Thanks for the response. I an 83 years oid, and have been plagued with prostate problems for almost 5o years. I've had 3 Turps. (roto-rooter)all of which has created bladder. prostate, and urethra problems. Over the years my bladder has been stretched and has lost most of the muscle tone.

The doctor used a series of sounds trying to stretch the urethra and break down the ad hesions caused by the turp operations.

I now have to self Cath as if I urinate naturally I'll only pass 1 or 2 ounces each time. When I follow up and drain with a catheter I'll get 8 to 10 ounces. So when I feel the need to urinate I just do self Cath and am good for another couple hours.

I originally posted here as I had earlier read about some guy Who used a spoon handle (guess it must have been round) to insert into his penis. Medical instruments and catheters are bad enough but I think your pushing the limits when you start introducing a spoon handle to get your jollies.

But my situation is old age so beats the alternative.

Restoreman, I had the same experience with the camera probe. Some months following prostate surgery, scar tissue began closing off my urethra. Urination became pretty nasty, but because I was due anyway for my first post-surgery check-up, I didn't mention the problem ahead of time. The doc wanted to do the surgical trimming procedure the same day and got some operating space four hours later. Because I'd driven in from out of town and needed to return the same day, the doc didn't put me under with a general as was normally done. I thought that enemas were for cleansing (among other things), and since urine is, essentially, waste, why would you want to re-introduce waste into your system, especially in an area where it can be absorbed into the system so quickly?

Nikki, I understand your concern, but I don't understand your NOT understanding of why very kinky men and women would want to play with catheters and sounds. It is just plain fun to do and has some very intense sensations. In healthy people, introduction of a catheter or sound is not painful when done properly. In my hospital experience, men complain about catheters, because they feel they are supposed to!! Trust me, cathing your man is an intense procedure and is enjoyed by both the "catheterizer" and the "catheterizee." There are a few reasons why someone might want a urine enema. First, it is just plain kinky and so taboo. Second, in S&M situations it is a means of showing dominance.

I to have used a 3/8 ST.Steel home made sound with no trouble about 12" long with a bend 3" from the tip.

That is not correct. K-Y lubricating jelly in the tubes or individual foil packs is most definitely sterile.

K-Y waming or intrigue or others might not be.

I just had another Urethra Dilation done yesterday. Unlike the 4 former sounds dilation the doctor used a new method (for me).

He first inserted a very small (thin) catheter, then he threaded a series of small to large flexable dilators which followed the small catheter as it was inserted into the bladder.

This was a much More comfortable procedure than the old sounds. And, hopefully just as effective and no blood!!!

The last time a doctor used the metal sounds I left his office wearing a bloody diaper and I passed blood clots for 3 days following.

So if you have to have your urthera dilated be sure to ask for this new procedure.

What a bummer but good advice.

I love to play with catheters and sounds. I order my caths from a medical supply place and they come individually wrapped in a sterile package. I prefer Foleys.

I sterilize my sounds by washing them well in hot, soapy water, rinsing them and then putting them in a special tray I found at Goodwill or such and running them through an oven cleaning cycle. I don't think any living thing could survive that!

I use clean, but not sterile, latex gloves and a tea towel fresh and hot from the dryer. I do use sterile packs of lube.

I have never gotten a urinary infection or had any other problems. Just using care and common sense goes a long way to making any exotic play safer!

I really enjoy having a catheter in me. I don't have to worry about when I go. I just empty the bag after a few hours. They feel good. I have found I like silicone catheters more than the latex ones. Seems the silicone one's move easier and no irritation.

With a thin sound there is the danger that the urethral wall perforated or a skin fold caught. For sounds under 9 mm be very careful.
