Do enemas help prostate issues?

Curious to find if enemas really help prostate issues.

Can't see any reason they don't.

I eally enjoy and enema and if it helps my prostate, that is even better

If only it were that simple. In July '05 my PSA was 4.7, just over 4.0, the point where it is considered elevated. A biopsy found the beginning of prostate cancer. I underwent 40 radiation treatments, about 20 minutes long, 5 days a week. I had no side effects from the radiation, but the Lupron injections I received every 3 months for a year and a half afterwards were nasty. Testosterone is said to aid prostate cancer and Lupron reduces Testosterone. Now I know what female menopause must be like. Mood swings, hot flashes, and a nonexistent libido all resulted. I even developed fatter breasts. I finally refused more Lupron and my libido started coming back. As a result of all this I no longer can get an erection or ejaculate. But I think my libido is actually stronger now and I can experience powerful orgasms. I'm living proof that you don't have to be hard to orgasm. I also always enjoyed anal sex and used to take some pretty large toys (never could quite take a fist). The radiation left scar tissue inside my rectum (found through a colonoscopy) and if I get too vigorous during anal sex I experience some bleeding. Needless to say, I'm not nearly as adventurous as I once was when it comes to what goes up my butt.

Other than that I'm fine today. My psa gets checked every 6 months and it has remained steady at about .4.

So guys, get your psa checked. Ignoring it won't make bad stuff go away. Age 40 is not too early, especially if prostate cancer is in your family, particularly your father or a brother.

I'm a firm believer that frequent enemas with the resulting dynamite, prostate-draining ejaculation keeps the prostate cleaned out. I once read that sexual inactivity on the part of men is contributor to prostate cancer. All that jizz just sits there and becomes toxic....besides, what a great excuse for frequent enemas!

Quit kidding yourself and just enjoy the enema for what it is, BUT IT AIN'T GONNA SHRINK YOUR PROSTATE!!!!!

The health care professionals tell us we should do regular, at-home examination of the skin, testicles, and breasts. So why not the prostate? Simple enough. My wife performs that duty monthly for me, and it is both pleasurable and a good health practice, in my opinion.

Can't wait to spring this question on my primary care physician (LOL)!!!

Seriously though, thanks for bringing it up (no pun intended). Nuthin' wrong with living, more often than not.

I have read articles that say that prostate stimulation on a regular basis keeps it healthy and possibly prevents cancer.

I had a prostate infection a few years ago. Took a long time to clear up. Apparently it does not have good blood flow, hence slow recovery. I was told by my urologist to "clean the pipes" daily. I recently saw him and told him of my use of enemas and massage. His reaction - if it works go for it. I was both nervous to tell him and happy with his response.

I am always given an enema before prostate massage - it seems standard here in Europe. I assume it is not only because of hygenie.

I would certainly like to talk to those folks and find out their experiences and successes.
