I believe my interest in the medical realm is the aspect that it is something real that EVERYONE has experienced and has memories of. It doesnt matter your race, culture, gender, age, etc; regular person to celebrities, models, entertainers and beyond everyone has endured being examined.
Then you go onto think about the exam and proceedures, there is no status or anything when your sitting there on the table, in a gown, tthermometer in mouth, stethoscope on chest, BP cuff being iinflated on arm, smell of alcohol being rubbed onto skin before an injection...
I enjoy seeing reactions and expressions of patients not only when they are told they will be receiving a proceedue like shot, pelvic, rectal exam, but watching how they mentally prepare for it and how different people react during the proceedure. Some are comfortable exposing themselves others are shy, some tolerate pain and discomfort with no reaction, while others wince, tense up, say ouch, and cry.
It's as if the examiner or spectator gets to see the real true raw emotions and life of human beings.
It is how real the world of medical interest is.
