Would a rash or overweight let feel you more ashamed in this embarrassing situation?

Hi everyone,

I found a picture to better illustrate the situation and added some censorship. I always wonder about things like this—how one might view it from a different perspective when feelings of shame come into play. I see myself as a patient; I need help and am getting it from two other women. We’re among ourselves—no problem; we know each other and help one another. But let’s play this out in our imaginations—feel free to answer; this is about real feelings of shame, not a game:

1. Men: If you were standing completely naked in front of the two nurses, would you feel ashamed? Or insecure about getting an erection? Or about having a shrunken penis due to pain? Would you prefer having caregivers of your own gender in that situation?

2. Women: What if the nurses were two male caregivers? So you were standing naked and vulnerable in front of two men? Unable to hide any flaws or sensitive areas from them? Would that be bad for you? Would you feel like you were being sexualized?

3. To both: Even if you wouldn't have a problem with it right now, would it make a difference if you were suddenly 25 kg heavier? Or had a terrible rash—something really embarrassing that you couldn't hide at that moment? Or to put it another way: do you understand when people say, "Oh no, now they’re going to see my [too small/big/fat/disgusting/wrinkly/pimply/whatever]..."?

Thanks for your opinions.

So nobody has a problem if you go to a exam, massage or skincare, and the provider sees your other problems, or irritations, or ugly penis/vagina? You all set this situation to 1005 only medical and have no shame infront of nurses? No one is afraid to show their pimple and rashes while get examined or prepared for a surgery?

What is this link about?

A woman naked infront of two nurses, its a photo to show what I mean

I certainly wouldn't have a problem with it at my age. I may have felt a bit embarrassed when I was younger.

I used to have to get some type of exam almost yearly because of my job and when I was younger it was very embarrassing and it was generally at a different doctor every time. Some were very very through and had you strip naked and put on a gown and they would check every moving part. Some just didn't give a damn and would ask a few questions and pass me. I always found that the women doctors were the most through and it also was the worst for me. I was raised in a very conservative religious family and nudity, masturbation and sex were taboo subjects. When I was younger I would get partially (50%) erect just waiting in the waiting room. Once I was in the gown it was 75% or more. I never and I repeat never had anyone say anything about it. I remember apologizing for the display and every time they told me that I was lucky to have good plumbing and to be thankful I'm young. Because after a certain age it goes away. My wife has told me that it is real unnerving for to go to the dermatologist or her OB/GYN and for the same reasons. She still hasn't gotten past it yet. I hope this helps.

Sorry for the double post. I asked my aunt one time about my fears because she was a nurse at the time and she told me that she sees so many male and female genitals a day that it doesn't even register in her mind. She told me that the day before she put catheters in 6-7 men all in ages from 17 to 70. She told me if I would try to look at it like she did it would help me. It did and I have always tried to not let it bother me. Again sorry for the double post.
