Surprising rectal temperature taken:

This happened in the early 2000s and I was in my mid 40s. I had seriously bad pain in my stomach and went to the emergency room in a very rural hospital. I was called back and taken into a small room with an admission nurse, and I noticed the tube of lube (Health Alliance brand, felt no different from KY to me) and what I determined had to be a digital rectal thermometer along with a rubber glove on the exam table. The young nurse asked some questions then told me to pull my pants down and get on my side for the rectal temperature. I asked what?? Hospital policy with gastrointestinal complaints I automatically get checked that way was her answer. I didn’t mind and she was really cute, and I immediately complied but it took me by surprise. I pulled down my sweat pants and undies and got on my side. That’s the only time the digital thermometer has been in my ass, mostly I just felt the lubricant slightly cold but she walked off and left me with that thing in my butt for a few minutes. I kind of liked how the control end felt like it could destabilize cause it was bigger and it did wobble a bit when she slid the business end in my butt.

Hands down, or should I say, briefs down, is the absolute best when occurring as a surprise!

My wife, after surgery for a broken nose in a boating accident, received an RT from a nurse in the hospital. There was nothing to pull down, just the parting of her hospital gown. She was in her early 20s. I guess she should not have been completely surprised as her nose was bandaged, making oral not an option. Forehead and ear thermometers were not around yet.

I was surprised by this the first time I met the doctor I still have today

About 50 years ago, when I was 14, I was on a Boy Scout camping trip. Several older boys was playing around and fell on a bunk. The wooden floor broke under the bunk, and the leg of the bunk went through the floor. My leg was next to the leg. Because of this, I received a very bad cut on my leg. They sent me to the nurse station, who cleaned and bandaged the wound. The nurse thought a doctor should take a look at the wound. The leader called my mom and told her what happened, and she gave her the okay to allow the leader to take me. The nurse started to call around to find a doctor. Ir was late in the day and we was out in nowhere The nurse finally found a pediatrician who will see me. The leader took me there. It was a small office, and no one was there except us. I was late in the day, and I think the office stayed open late for me. The secretary also called my parents to check if the leader could ok my treatment if needed. After a while, a nurse ( I think she was in her 40s) called us back. The nurse asked me to take my shirt and shoes off. I was allowed to keep my pants on because I was wearing shorts. She took my vitals (blood pressure, weight etc.). No temperature was taken. The doctor came in (A male who I think was in his 50s) . The doctor did a quick physical. (Listen to heart, lung. Etc. nothing embarrassing ). The doctor then removed the bandage from my legs. He said I needed stitches. He gave me 8 injections in the leg next to the wound, and I received over 50 stitches; it was a bad cut. The doctor recommended that I get a tetanus immune globulin and a penicillin shot. But he could not give me the shot without first checking my temperature. However, since almost all of his patients were babies and younger children under 12 , he had only rectal thermometers. This is a probability why the nurse did not take my temperature earlier. The leader said ok and left the room and waited in the lobby. The nurse grabbed the thermometer and Vaseline. Remember, the only thing that I still had on was my shorts, which the nurse asked me to take them off and roll over on my stomach while she shake the thermometer and put the Vaseline on it . I did what I was told and now I was completely naked. Back then, they did not care about the modesty of children. She put the Vaseline on the thermometer and spread my butt check and inserted the thermometer. I grasped from the cold feeling of the thermometer when she inserted it. It had been a long time since my temperature was taken rectal. I started to get an erection because of feeling the thermometer in me and the nurse had her hands on my butt for the full 5 minutes. I was also scared because the nurse left the door open (Back then, they did not care about the modesty of children), and I could see another nurse preparing the shots. The other nurse, the secretary, and another lady entered the room. The nurse who took my temperature started to rub alcohol on my butt. The secretary and the other lady held me down. Then each nurse stuck the big needles in my ass. One in each cheek. I scream as they inject both medication in my ass at the same time It took about a minute and burn like hell. After it was done, everyone left except the nurse who took my temperature. She said I can put my clothes back on. The doctor and the leader came back in. The doctor said someone should look at the wound in about 14 days. We left and My butt hurts for days

I get it. I'm older than you and you are spot on, back then they didn't give a damn about children's modesty. In some ways that meant everything was checked. When I was the same age 14 not yet 15 I stayed the summer with my Aunt and Uncle in Oregon on their farm and my cousin and I were racing around in the pasture on our minibikes and crashed in the mud and cow crap by the entrance to the milking barn. We got a bunch of scrapes, cuts and bruises and were covered in mud and cow crap.

We were quickly loaded into Uncles old pick-up and taken to the doctors office. The Hospital was 50 miles away, so that was the first stop only 20 miles away. The receptionist called the nurse up and looked at us and we were quickly taken to the back of the office in the last room. We were relieved of our clothes very quickly and since they were soaked in mud and cow crap they were tossed into a plastic bag and we were not allowed to put them back on. We were then looked at one at a time to see if we needed stitches and then the nurse began to use like baby wipes to wipe us all down. They were full of alcohol and burned like hell. They wiped every square inch of us down and when they went over our little boy parts that had already gotten erect it lit us up like Christmas trees. Then we each got our temperatures taken rectally and of course that didn't help either. Since it was an unscheduled visit the doctor made us wait for a while so he could he could finish his rounds. So there we sat naked with our Uncle in the room for another 30 minutes. When the doctor came in he looked us all over one by one and then told the nurse to give us both a tetanus shot and said we could go. That's when my uncle asked about our clothes and told the doctor that they were bagged up, and he said hang on I'll be right back. A few minutes later the nurse came back with some rubber adult panties that were really too big for us, but it was better than being naked. Uncle went to the front to pay and made us stand in the hallway at the back of the office and after he payed he drove the truck around to the back door and we were let out and quickly got into the truck. On the way home those things sucked. Sticky sweaty and our boy parts kept falling out of the legs. But uncle told us he was real proud of how well we behaved at the doctor's office and took our medicine like men, so he stopped at a drive in there in town and bought us burgers, fries and shakes. The doctor told uncle that we should be monitored for any signs for infection for a while so auntie began taking our rectal temperatures every morning and evening before bed for a week. Racing minibikes never felt so good! The way the treat children now they won't have any erotic memories like their parents and grand parents do. What a shame.

A surprise sounds great! I was always warned in advance.
