How To Prevent or Minimize Dryness of Rectum and Colon After Shower Enema?

As stated in subject. I will do a full clean out every 2 weeks or so, just using the tap water coming from shower hose, without too many issues. Im in AZ though so water is very hard. Might exacerbate.

But…and I know this is a thing, my Rectum, Sigmoid, and Colon get super dry after. I try to leave some water in to help but not always successfull.

I can use a lube squirter or bulb to put bottled water in after, and that helps some.

Is there a better/as easy high volume way to get a clean out other than a shower hose?

Any suggestions on what to use before or after to prevent/minimize drying?

Put in water based lube with squirter? I’ve tried coconut oil and though that helps with insertion, afterwards it stays very dry for a few days then it will rehydrate (and repopulate flora?)

Thx in advance

I'm kind of against a shower hose...too uncontrollable, also if the water is hard as you say, can cause troubles... for me the best would be to use softened water...there are salts you filter it through that do it...then use a simple bag...if you like it high or big volumes, you can use a colon tube...with, maybe, an higgingson pump added..... using a small siringe to inject a couple of ounces of warm olive oil, would help prevent dryness.... personally I would always make a herbal tea...with whatever herbs you might prefer......then, if you wanted to be thorough, you'd have the water tasted, check the PH and see what is the bet additive to bring it close to your body tolerance, so that your insides do not get over stressed...

I insert a Vitamin E suppository or two after a series of enemas

Little dab of A&D Ointment always works for me..... Clears up any rashes on the outside also
