I was circumcised aged 11 due to phimosis, my older brother was circumcised much younger due to the same issue, but me being a middle child I suppose it was overlooked by my parents until I began to pay more attention to my bodily functions and brought the issue to their attention to it. I remember the GP explaining the surgery to me, that it was done at hospital and would take 7-10 days to recover, but I've no recollection of the surgery as it was done under what I assume was twilight sedation.
I was never happy with the results of my circumcision. It appeared to be a partial cut, the skin partially covered the head. It didn't look like other penises. I was incredibly self conscious about it, I hated showering after sports or using urinals. My GP refused to refer me to a urologist as there was no further medical need for a revision, so when I was about 20 I had a revision by a private clinic.
It was like this doctor was allowing me to spec my penis, like buying a new car, low and loose, high and tight, something in between, what do you prefer, what does your girlfriend prefer, do you use lube to masturbate or not? I opted for something in between and he explained it was a traditional freehand style circumcision rather than clamp as he believed he would get the best cosmetic result. 40 minutes later and £1000 lighter I had a result I was finally happy with. I was given instructions on aftercare which were rest, keep it dry, change the dressings for the first few days then let it air out. No masturbation for 7 days, no sex for 3 weeks. Torture but worth it!
