Choosing a doctor because of a profile picture

New York City subways run on the third rail. I have been scrolling through the arousal, erection posts during physical exams because of the doctor. 'She was very pretty,' a sample. Here, unlike other parts of the country, there are lots of choices in primary care, (unlike surgeons, doctors who do procedures, whom we might choose because a referral, recommendation, experience), have you chosen a new doctor based on his/her/their medical profile picture? Posts might get heated.

As a gay man, I have. Not thinking that I would ever see a doctor outside of his office, but because I'd like him on my (medical) team.

I have, but not for obvious reasons. My pediatrician got on my case during my teen years. He said I was overweight. This was in the 80s so it was before BMI charts. By 17 my metabolism had caught up with my calorie intake so my weight was 'normal' but everytime I went to his office I felt fat.

When I got a new job and moved to a new town, I had to find a new doc. A new practice had opened with three doctors. I went to the office personally to fill out papers and schedule an exam. The receptionist motioned to a photo of three docs on the wall and said "do you have a preference for a particular doctor?" I looked up and said "yes, the one on the left." He was my doctor for 30+ years and I chose him because he was fat. He had a big round belly and the other two doctors we clearly in better shape than him. Even though I gained weight in my late 20s, he never got on my case about being heavy. He probably knew that if he had I would have mentioned bis weight!
