Over the years, my wife and I made many videos—including quite a few of enemas. We uploaded them to yuvutu.com and also kept copies on a hard drive. Last January, as a precaution, we destroyed the hard drive, figuring that most of them were safely stored on yuvutu. Now yuvutu has vanished, and we’ve lost everything 😭

That sucks! Guess you should not trust anyone except yourself. Digital storage takes up very little space.

The Cloud is marketing-speak for Someone Else’s Computer. If the data are worth keeping, store on media you own.

I have my own cloud. A few years ago I bought a Western Digital 10TB cloud drive, I store everything and can access through my network or through the WD app, giving me access anywhere. Password protected, encrypted, secure. Probably the safest way to store data. I have my music collection on it, about 340,000 songs MP3 at 96KBBS for mono and 192 KBBS for stereo. For music, 320 kbps is the highest MP3 bitrate and is considered near-CD quality, while 256 kbps and 192 kbps are high-quality options. And as most of my music is from the 50s and 60s with some Big Band 30s and 40s these two bitrates are adequate.

It's worth looking into having your own cloud to protect your files.

I agree with the others - use your own personal 'cloud'. I bought the Synology DS-223j unit, install a pair of 10 TB drives as redundant array. Zero trouble and it's Saved everything for over a year so far.

Maybe I wasn't very clear. I had everything on my own hard drive (I have six in addition to a Synology). Since my house is frequented by my children and grandchildren, and I'm getting rid of many of the enema and sex "equipment," I decided to destroy my personal hard drive out of caution, given that we're away for extended periods of time and the grandchildren look after our dogs. A distraction could have happened and left the hard drive within reach.

I have my own personal cloud. Nothing to do with IT or data storage it's just my cloud & as the Rolling Stones used to say "Hey you! Get off of my cloud!"
