New comer or old timer to enemas....

I started to put this post in another subsection but figured it might be better posted here.

I have been into enemas for a long time. I figure from the posts there are others of you who have been as well. I wonder about the newcomers.

So, here goes. Newbies and oldtimers, what got you interested in eemas in the first place? What increased your interest? What keeps you interested? New equipment? New partners? New anal interests along with enemas? Hearing about others experiences and just knowing you are not alone in your interest in enemas?

Whether you just joined or have been here a long time, I'd like to read about your experiences. What brought you here. What keeps you here. Whom you have found. Where you are.

I am impressed with the variety of countries represented here. We seem to pop up all over the world. I'm throwing this post open for comments, questions, opinions, suggestions, you name it.

Pretty simple for me. About age eight, like most kids I snooped through the house when I had the opportunity. On one of those reconnaissance missions I found a combination bag on an upper shelf in the parents closet. I've never known how much or even if they ever used it, but after reading the enclosed instructions and a couple of clumsy experiments, I was hooked. Nothing sexual had crossed my brain at that age, I just knew it felt good. I was already a fan before the erotic effect happened.

Age 8 for me my grandmother a nurse decided that it was time for me to have a weekly enema or two they were given to me while I was on my back and naked. The bags was red rubber open top so it could be easily filled. I continue to receive them from her until I was 14 Arther that my uncle took over giving me the weekly enemas.enemas from my uncle lasted until I was 22 .

I am new. and very curious at the moment. I never received one as a child don't think anybody in my family did, never saw any apperatus around or suggestion I needed one from my mother.

As I am getting older now very interested in trying to administer one on myself. Especially the more I read on here, But just can't push myself to do it. Not sure why.

@SoupDragon: Give it a try. I'm sure you can find copious instructions on here, from Youtube, (yeah there are enema videos on there), and even online in general. You did'nt say whether you are single or in a relationship. If single, your time is yours. Otherwise, you'll have to schedule it for when others are nor around. Legitimate questions from newbies are not frowned on in Zity forums. Youi'll find lots of folks here who will be glad to help with advice. Glad you responded.

Zity tells me I’ve been a member here for over 11 years. Started my first self-enema at 15 the same week I discovered how to have my very first self-induced orgasm (in the tub one night). Immediately started to do them together whenever I could, and still doing them now at age 74. I’ve been a Zity member for a little over a year and a half. I was never given an enema as a child, but my mother was a huge believer in glycerin suppositories (many times when there was no indication I needed one). I knew what an enema was because I read about enemas in Dr. Spock’s infant’s and children’s “manual”, and because I walked in on my mother giving herself an enema once. I absolutely hated being given suppositories with a red-hot passion. They caused an intolerable burning sensation in my rectum and my mother made me retain suppositories long past the time they resulted in painful cramps. I never “grew into” enjoying being given a suppository once I reached puberty. I didn’t begin appreciating the pleasurable sensations provided by laxative suppositories until I was in my mid-thirties.

That being said, I was always very curious about enemas and almost wished my mother would substitute enemas for suppositories. But I suspect that, given the opportunity, my mother would turn giving me an enema into a decidedly much too painful experience. I never tried self-administering an enema because our house was a tiny one with only one bathroom and I was never left home alone.

I had a barium enema when I was in my mid-twenties to rule out Crohn’s Disease. I had to self-administer two Fleets enemas as part of the prep. I found the two prep enemas not wholly unpleasant. But the barium enema was exceptionally awful.

Fast forward to age 34 when I was a medical intern. I started dating one of the attending physicians who, it so happens, enjoyed anal intercourse and liked the runway to be clear. So he would give me an enema each time before we had anal sex. I not only didn’t find those “prep” enemas unpleasant, I rather enjoyed them, sometimes as much as or even more than the subsequent anal sex. I never told my lover that I enjoyed the enemas he gave me because, at that point in time, I believed that enjoying enemas was a certified sign of sexual deviancy. When we broke up, I didn’t begin self-administering enemas until I was in my sixties for the reason I just mentioned. Plus, until @liquidsky, I never had another boyfriend who was into anal stuff. I won the lottery when I met @liquidsky. He is very nearly as anal erotic as I am. He gives amazing enemas and I love giving him enemas. Even more important, I love him with all my heart and soul.

I am grateful beyond words that @liquidsky managed to survive his recent near-death experience!!! And I am happy to be home again after being hospitalized a total of six times since the beginning of the year. I will be undergoing major surgery in the relatively near future to reduce my huge hiatal hernia. But I’m looking forward to not having intermittent severe gastric pain, recurrent medication-resistant nausea, and cyclical vomiting after this surgery.

I can’t find the words to describe how truly touched and grateful both @liquidsky and I are for our Zity Family! I have no doubt that everyone’s thoughts, prayers, healing vibes, and good juju played a huge role in his survival and healing. I now believe in the power of prayer.

Thank you so much for your kind words! Believe it or not, before this year I managed to not be hospitalized for well over a decade.

My life has consisted of long stretches of time during which things go pretty darned well. Then a handful of unpleasant things happen during a relatively short period of time. Then I’m good to go for quite a few years again. I guess I’m okay with this pattern because the good years are so enjoyable and free from major drama.

For me i have to say, long time " oldie " as a giver, but also very interested " changing the table " with an interested partner !!

A little past old, me. Enemas are being recommended for me by an oncologist at The Baylor College of Medicine in Texas. My prostate was huge, yet smooth and evenly shaped. PSA in my blood test was normal. Suddenly it seemed, but really the condition had been creeping up on me for years, i could not pee. Long story short, they say i have an aggressive form of prostate cancer. I will inquire more about his recommendation to follow an enema regimen, and report here with @Donaldis inquiry. But what i have read, is that with all the deadly stuff they hit you with to kill this cancer that's in me, the enemas will more keep the awful waste from those burns and poisons from exacerbating my health. Even regular showers are helpful, as well. Any other help in this direction, will be appreciated. My Zity-avatar is my enema view, as the water steadily biggs and jiggles in my belly and in friends with a continuous fill, hose, bag and nozzle selection set-ups, keeping it interesting. I infuse short quick pint cycles at first, getting out the lower stuff before reaching in deeper, all the while checking on my ascending colon. Some times it takes the right side a while to start activating. Varying fill temperatures from 105F down to 85F, keeps fills going in nicely and then heading out, so we can do it again.

I can not explain this, i only have my experiences. I reinvented a forgotten interest in enemas, prior to being drafted into the US Army. 40 years later, hemorrhoid troubles got painfully chronic. Enemas with prayer, fixed that. Now with cancer, let's see what happens. Following prostate surgery, not wanting to strain, enemas have protected their work. One of my kidneys was regularly putting out very fine sand. Kidney sand aggravates the bladder when a Foley catheter with retention ball is set in the neck of the bladder. I have been able to flush sand from my bladder, even getting it to blow past the ball, by laying on my back and advancing the catheter an inch or so. Painful, but with positive results, catching and examining the discharge from around the catheter. This is all, "enema play" with a sense of time well spent.

Before i was catheterized, i knew i was passing a little sand. I'd occasionally feel it tumble through. If i saw it in the pot, i'd fish it out and study it. I kept trying to get free of having to live with a cath. In that i always pee in a bottle and look at what is coming out of me: Blood, mucus, scabs and sand. I blew one conglomerate plug that was 11mm by 9mm the day after having the last catheter removed by flushing my kidneys and bladder with my make-shift filtered water colonic system. It takes steady in and out enema play over at least an hour or two, for the bladder to put out 400 to 600 ml or cubic centimeters (cc) I have even gone to sleep with 1.5 to 2 quarts filtered water weighing inside me, for this purpose.

My mother gave me enemas as far back as I can remember. She must have given them to me as an infant because she had several different size bulb syringes and I vaguely recall my grandmother holding me in diaper position on the kitchen counter and my mother squirting liquid up my bottom, then squeezing my butt cheeks together for a few minutes and then sitting me on a potty to poop. The first enema I clearly remember was when I was 4 years old and sick with a cold and constipated. My mother phoned the doctor and he told her to give me a 1 pint enema of warm salt water using her enema bag. I cried and struggled all through that enema as she forced me to hold it in for 5 minutes then sat me on the potty and a whole lot of hard poop came pouring out of me. She tried various solutions on me as my grandmothers, aunts, and my friends' mothers made suggestions and she finally settled on Ivory soapsuds enemas. Her first line of action when I missed a daily bowel movement, or was acting cranky and out of sorts, or didn't finish all the food on my plate, or ate a lot of candy, nuts or popcorn was to give me a laxative at bedtime expecting it to work first thing the next morning. If it didn't make me have to go she'd stick a glycerin suppository up my bum(or a Dulcolax suppository in my teens) and if that didn't make me go in about 20 minutes she'd give me a hot Ivory soapsuds enema. The doctor we had when I was a child was a strong advocate of giving children a daily enema whenever they were too sick to go to school to keep their bowels emptied out during the illness. I also got a "Spring Cleaning" during the Easter Holidays at my grandparents' home along with my 3 younger boy cousins. It started with a bowl of prunes stewed in Senna tea at suppertime, a dose of Castor Oil at bedtime and a hot soapsuds enema using green liquid medicinal soap first thing the next morning to clean everything out of our bowels. We weren't allowed to eat anything that day and 3 times through the day we were given a big dose of foul tasting worm medicine washed down with a dose of Senna tea. At bedtime we were given a dose of Epsom Salts which kept us running to the toilet all through the night with bouts of watery diarrhea and first thing the next morning we were given a hot soapsuds enema with a spoonful of turpentine in it to flush out any worms that were still in our bowels. So I was raised on enemas all through my childhood up until I left home in my mid-20's. Then after leaving home to live in a small town I started getting constipated very frequently and since taking a laxative was inconvenient during the work week I started back on giving myself enemas.

@gboy what about paragraphs?

I think most of us that were raised in the 50s, 60s and 70s were more familiar with enemas than the later generations. Just an assumption, but I know it was way more common.
