I watched the movie again tonight and noticed a combo/hot water bottle, hanging on the back of the bathroom door, but no hose at around 1:28.

I'm not really surprised, although I don't remember it. Enemas at home were a normal part of everyday life for many people then.

The bag and hose hanging on the towel bar on the back wall of the tub was a common sight in our house back in the 50's and 60's.
