Are enemas used much during the monthly cycle and does it help with all the discomfort?

Wondering if enemas are used much during the monthly cycle and does it help with all the discomfort, cramps and other things during that time of the month.

I had an aunt that was a pediatrician and that was the first thing she suggested to help difficult/painful cycles... very young girls of course. In my family all women always used enema for relief. My wife was not and was taking lots of pills. I told her about this "other" use of enemas and she tried. She blessed me for it, for the rest of her life.... she found it also helpful during menopausal hormone unbalance and other "moments"...

I never used on for that. I’ve never had an issue with constipation. I’ve had IBS-D since I was 14. I do recall friends complaining about their periods causing them to be constipated. I don’t know if they used enemas or not.

Constipation is a fairly common complaint when it's related to the menstrual cycle. I don't know anyone who uses enemas to address that.

Most of us attempt to eat better, with more fruits and vegetables, proper hydration, and less salt, in the days leading up to our period. That helps with both constipation and bloating.
