Man I absolutely love cream of wheat .I recently spent a couple months in hospital and rehab ,they had plain oatmeal ,tasteless so I asked a nurse about it ,she said there's usually not enough people who like COW to make a pan of it ,once they found out there was like 15 of us ,they made COW milk butter brown sugar is how I eat it ,I will say having friends in culinary is the bomb ,nurses said they kitchen is notoriously stingy you can order anything and get nothing ,me on the other hand always got fed like royalty ,nurses wanted to know the secret I said I called my buddy who is head of culinary at my usual rehab, he called the rehab culinary people here and made sure that I got taken care of .
2 pieces buttered cinnamon raisin toast 2 breakfast sausage patties ,half pound of bacon with habanero hot sauce and maple syrup cheddar cheese ,cup of cranberry /cherry juice cup of coffee ,bowl of COW with butter brown sugar ,diced fresh fruit ,cup of yogurt ,cup of pudding ,cup of ice cream . Protein shake .When I got there nurses said eat whatever you enjoy gain some weight ,let us worry about your diabetes and cholesterol , so that's what I did ( I was legendary 100% when I ordered a double double I got it ,guy down the hall would order what I wanted and I would order double double and we would swap so he could get a cheeseburger without grief . I got a reputation ,both good and bad at all the hospitals ,they all remember me for different things , the funny part is how protective everyone is ,some friends drove 16 hours to come see me ,they went to the wrong hospital,it's not hard to do they are across the street from each other .
go to receptionist and ask directions to my room the receptionist doesn't check the computer and says he's at a different hospital ,the cop standing next to her adjusts his weapon and receptionist goes into Spanish inquisition mode saying he's very private only people that come are cops firemen and nurses from other hospitals ,so how long have you known him ,about 30 years, so where have you been ? There like we live in his hometown about 16 hours away ,and we have been to his house dozens of times just never so worried that we came to hospital . Once they passed the inquisition the cop says I'll take you right to him the back way ,there like but you said he was at a different hospital ,he is like we didn't say you couldn't get there from here ,and proceeds to tell them I am well loved ,so they were just making sure you were legit . There was one thing I really needed and that's been unavailable for 18 years ,however these two people also know when I need a mom hug ,I need them ,they've known me and Mom since Christ was a corporal so they could give me a legitimate mom hug ,I will say it's been a hell of a year started last July with bad head injury ( was it "fall out boy" that had the horn ,that's what I looked like in ICU ) and just snowballed .any of you who are familiar with Medicare statements mine ending April 30 th was 56 pages long .
I will say all the hospital and rehab time concerned someone in the state capitol enough that they sent doctors to come find out ,who started this and how do we fix it . Since getting home everything has been easier because my insurance now knows I have friends in higher places who are watching and plowing over any obstacle .
My service coordinator heard me explaining what an actual threat was ? And said if I do jail time for your mouth ,I better get diner,I told her you know I'll do breakfast and lunch too . Needless to say appealing a denial with insurance is frustrating and pisses people off I brought up Brian Thompson death ,the woman asked if that was a threat ? I said no a threat would be waiting for a couple of raptors with a weapons load seizing control remotely and wiping out your entire company ,that's a lot more threatening than shooting one guy in the head ,she said it's not possible ,I said ask the patent office for non classified patents ,and read the name of the engineer who designed them ,it will be very familiar .
